Here in 2024, this song made me eager to learn Shona as a Ndebele born and bred in Lupane. Was my Ezomgido highlight every Thursday. I still listen to it like it’s my first time…….. timeless. Apa magona 👏👏
Oh wow, I hope you learnt it my bro/sis, we may be different Zim tribes, but through our troubles and experiences we are one. Nami futhi ngifuni ukhufunda isiNdebele
each time I hear this song,I think of the days back then, when I would watch these videos and I would know that it's either Independence Day or Heroes Day or Unity Day....brings so many special memories...
❤️ ❤️ ❤️ 2024 this song relates to every daily struggle dangie Clive Malunga our Ndebele Shona brother ❤❤❤❤much love that's A Zazuru or Zues classic 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤very ancestral from son of the Soil and the Watchers of Iyyanga ❤❤❤❤
memories. You cant watch this without reflecting . i loved it then when i was a kid, 2021 im still in love with it.......The beat alone reminds me of the Zimbabwean blood flowing in my veins........ #Nesango
Taken aback down the memory lane.. It reminds me of my late dad. I vividly remember year 1997 watching it on ZBC black and white television. It was number one video of the year. It was was said to be the most expensive ever produced video in Zimbabwe
This song was usually played on ZTV in late nineties and 2000 onwards my self enjoying the music afterwards went to state functions,my Father CDE ELIMON EDMORE CHIMURENGA BABA CHIZIZI MBORI MARIMBIRE TAKING US THROUGH POLITICAL ORIENTATION ON HOW THE WAR WAS WAGED UP UNTIL WE GOT INDEPENDENCE IN ZIMBABWE HATS OFF BABA
This song always takes me back when my dad would sit me down and narrate what they went through during the armed struggle his experiences in mozombique loosing his brothers ....rest in Peace cde misheck Kondo
Sjnce i woke up this song has been playing in ny heard, when i was younger i just loved singing along but today ndadzidza kuti Sango rinopa waneta... Don't give up in life, break-through is around the coner.
I remember vachiti vakacherera camera pasi for the scene yematrucks passing through. It was the most expensive video made that year and surely it won video of the year for 1997
You are a genius mkoma Clive. This was your best piece of art. It reminds us of the good old days. A song full of meaning and a preservative of who we are as Zimbabweans. We did not get this freedom on a silver plate. It took tears, sweat and blood. Bravo!
Ndipo paunoona vamwe achitengesa nyika. Kana takanganisirana ngatigare pasi tiyanane pachedu varume. Thank you for the good song & video, it reminds me a lot.
I was 7 when I last heard this song and now 2016 I'm 23... I remember loving this song but now it has a different meaning. Sango rinopa waneta wadzungaira - fly high my Zimbabwe. I feel a little helpless though all these idea but scared to implement them :(
Clives video productions are genius!! im into film and some of the most important aspects of making one were put into this video.. (some of it is pretty touch and go but come on!) no one was doing this during clive times...not any i can think of anyway
dude finally someone that get the same exact same thing i just noticedq, there was so many scenes in this video and knowing how a shoot is done there was some proper coordination done here
very creative and evokes a lot of memories of the pain and suffering we had to endure in the mid seventies stretching into January 1980 including school closures in the rural ares and sadly in retrospect it was all a waste as this pain has only benefited the chosen few who have turned out to be worse than the former enemy.
Zimbabwe at 40!we give credit to all those who made immense contributions towards the freedom we enjoy today. Zimbabwe you are a beautiful country endowed with great flora and fauna. Your children are dotted around the world in the name of trying to eke a living. You are a shadow of your former self and some of us have several questions like, How did we get here? However, our hope for a better Zimbabwe will not fade away.
me thinks its pretty clear how we got here and its all captured in one word (GOVERNANCE) lack of it of cause namely a) involvement in an emotion and macho if not selfish driven DRC war whose cos was monumental b) an unplanned/ budgeted disbursement of gratuities to war veterans (again an emotional selfish move) c)reckless disbursements of war victims compensations (100% disability benefits to able bodied persons serving in government for that matter) d) unplanned/un budgeted land reform that has destroyed the agricultural output of fruits, vegetables and flowers (number one forex earners till then) { again an emotional and self serving move} e) corruption (the list is endless)
Ezomgido 1998 every Thursday we could know that it will be the last song to played at the end of the programme. one of the expensive music videos made in Zimbabwe during those days. I remember when Clive Malunga narrated how he had to engage the Zim Air force to get that helicopter from Manyame, Those trucks and the AK rifle with rubber bullets.
Thanks a lot once more Makombe. Since you have these rare tracks, maybe you can find for us again another track by Mashakada. "Ndorangarira Gamba part 1". I realized part 2 is already here. You remember he had another track for Magamba "Vatongogara igamba redu musavakanganwewoka...." Thanks for the efforts you are making for us.
I am here in 2022 this song hits differently in this day in Zimbabwe.. taneta kudzungaira tisina chinobatika chataita... vamwe vagere zvavo mudzimba umu.... our civil servants are being paid peanuts vamwe vagere zvavo mudzimba umu vachibira nyika
During the war of liberation people attended these night gatherings supporting Chimurenga, also those who were against the war were disciplined during these gathering ( kubhesi).
