To help add more fire to the theory of Chloe physically showing up, the photo that most have seen of Chloe in LIS:DE isnt a drawn photo like in the originals but an actual pre rendered photo turned into an image. in before the storm theres a poster in the changing room where rachel is that says "loretta" i honestly believe that it is rachel but they want to keep us on the edge of who is and isnt coming back in this game, since alternate universes do in fact exist in the first game, they def can in the fourth

People say "oh but they're talking about alternative timelines and she could be alive and one alternative reality just like the comics" They're talking about TWO timelines. Just two and that's it. And just for the record, the comic books aren't even canon. Timeline A: Safi's dead. Timeline B: Safi's alive. If there's another timeline on this game, probably gonna be used for a murder plot, not to explain a fanservice appearance. Loretta appears in two scenes and clearly, she's investigating Safi's death. So automatically she's on timeline A. Timeline A is the original timeline where Rachel is dead. So, this theory that Loretta is Rachel is just people looking at a random blond girl with outlined makeup and just ignoring what she's actually doing in that scene.
YES. this is exactly what me and others have been trying to say about there being only two timelines that the devs literally said are set AFTER the bay/bae endings, so it wouldn't make sense for rachel to show up cuz she's already dead in both but some amberpricers and rachel stans are so defensive that they think ppl are just against rachel being in the new game when they're just being logical lmao
Yes, even if Rachel’s alive in the comics those are two separate mediums. Who’s to say they have anything to do with each other? There’s been games and stuff where the comics and the games don’t entirely connect.
I think Max will probably return to Arcadia Bay regardless whether you saved Chloe or not. But it probably won't be in her own timeline. It will be an alternate reality where Rachel is alive and Chloe is living with her.
I’m trying to work out which is funnier and more delusional - People thinking that the alternative timeline randomly includes Rachel Amber alive and somehow at the same uni as Max investigating a mysterious murder … *for some reason,* OR people being unable to decide whether the detective is Nathan himself or Nathan’s dad. Can the “This is an entirely new set of characters” theory be discussed already? 😂

I've discussed it with some people online that I think Max should never know Rachel, only from the memories that Chloe can share with her. and we know, when people remember someone and it's been a while, we don't remember every single detail, and that's what could make Rachel more interesting to Max than she actually is
