WindyCityLiz Any rational person is capable of this. The problem is that many people have become less rational and more tribal. The advertising incentives on the internet have gone too far. People are being controlled by sneaky tactics to garner their attention for monetary gain (advertising $$$$$$$$$$). These algorithms lead people to have a very narrow view of reality inside the echo chambers of which they have been pushed into a every turn.
It's not only Trumpers who have become more tribal. Online experiences do not constitute reality and people tend to have a screen in front of their face for a good part of they day.

@Ann, I agree but let's face it, the committee members that are peeved about this book need to remember, that yes DOJ finally kicked into high gear BUT the committee itself got off to a late start also. Election day is just weeks away and I doubt seriously that the committee will be completely finished and meanwhile Liz C. lost her bid for re-election and if the Repubs win then the investigation is over.
I can understand that but it's not like the guy is doing anything to harm the Committee or even criticize them. I'm glad to get more of the information and I don't see the harm. The information the J6 uncovers is _public_ not their personal property.
That's it. Why could he not wait. Is he helping the committee with their work. That I would praise.
The Committee has had to push and push to get Garland to start investigating the planners of 01/06. It wasn't until garland was backed into a corner by the public after watching the hearings before he even seized Eastman's phone and documents from Clark's house (seizing phones and documents are usually done at the very beginning of an investigation not deep into it). It sounds like Riggleman is frustrated in that the committee isn't seeing things through his trained eyes and this is his way of getting the public outraged like the hearings did.
@@B_Bodziak It strains credulity to credit the Jan6 Committe with the DoJ's wor!. Oh, they all carped how slow DoJ was and I even heard Schiff say he did not believe DoJ was even investigating Trump and the upper echelons of the coup plot, just based on the fact he hadn't heard anything! He felt it was impossible the DoJ could be investigating Trump's crimes without his hearing _something_ and, since he hadn't ...
Then it was revealed DoJ had already empaneled at least two grand juries and had been questioning witnesses for at least a few weeks, if not months. Of course, since then, we've seen DoJ has been going after Trump and cronies big time. But still Schiff keeps sniping. Oddly enough he goes to great lengths to keep all the Committee's info sealed up and refuses to give out any progress reports for months at a time and that's considered a good thing. It's only bad when Merrick Garland does it. I wonder how Schiff would react if people took the J6 Committee's lack of leas as proof they weren't doing anything?
The fact is, I have great respect for the Committee AND for DoJ and I'm sure both entities are doing good work. It is unseemly and baseless to ridicule or denigrate either one. They both are our allies and both have demonstrated they are staffed by the highest quality people doing their very different jobs very well.
I'm tired of people putting book deals before country...I can believe that this guy may have been well intentioned, and I don't think he is let's say on a John Bolton level, but come on, we need people to work for truth, strategize transparency, democracy,, common good, etc. I can believe he is well intentioned, and I hope everything works out fine, but he should have coordinated with the committee.

I've been a little interested in this book, but after hearing the author, I'm _very_ interested in this book. I thought he was just another "insider" telling stuff from their viewpoint. But this guy actually has a background in counter-intelligence? Call me stupid, but I did not know that, and it's a super good reason to want to hear his story. Besides, he deserves a break... lost everything for conducting a joyful wedding ceremony, losing his seat, losing $$ at his business because of the MAGA folks, losing family and friends, threats and harassment, all for the one thing that means everything -- _good vs. evil_ I will be reading this tomorrow. Best wishes for a happy, peaceful future Mr. Riggleman.

Comes across as a nice enough guy but I still question his motivation for the book. He just seems to be looking for people to know his name and laud him for his technical analytic skills which if they are as good as he says and he really thinks the committees work is important and that they are doing a great job - why in the world did he leave his work for them back in April? It feels like there is more there than we are being told by either side and may explain why the committee is upset with his behaviour leading up to the book and the timing of its release. I don’t think he’s presenting the authentic him.

Apparently, there is a lot of money to be made writing a book about these current affairs, and people are getting them out quickly. Getting them promoted on national t.v. sure helps. I don't get the feeling something is fishy, just a guy who knew he could profit from his position. I think he is being slyly oportunistic - I can see why the commitee is ticked off.

I've been following this man ever since I first saw him on CNN. He has done other interviews as well and I always listen closely when he speaks, even saving those interviews. I even preordered his book. The things that he says are intriguing at the very least. I just wonder how people became so entrapped in all of this. I read he same things on the internet(Qanon, Alex Jones,etc.) but I considered it entertainment. I even listened to the evangelicals equating Trump with Cyrus in the Bible. The lizard people however was just ridiculous. Anyway I got bored with it all and stopped following it. I was shocked when I heard that people were taking all of this seriously. I wish Mr. Riggleman could have stayed with the committee. I believe he has a lot to offer. Please everyone in Washington stop the squabbling. It's very tiresome and we need to find out who these people are and what they've already done and are doing. I guess that's all for now.

This guy has worked in counter-intelligence but can't keep a secret?! The committee members have been consistently quiet and only revealing information when they agree to the release. This guy has no business revealing the work that he did for them. ANYONE working for ANY COMPANY knows that they can't just go out and write a book on their project at the company and reveal details of the new product before the product is released. He violated their trust. I wonder why he was let go so quickly. That it is public data is BS. The DOJ, FBI and CIA all work for the public, but nobody working for them prematurely releases details about anything without approval. And they don't reveal "public data" when they are quit or fired.
I like this guy, have listened to him several times. However, freaking out that the congressional committee is not highlighting whatever he is now laying out there, doesn’t matter all that much because a lot of what the committee is doing is merely trying to show the DOJ where to point their investigators and make a presentation for the public to wake up and see what has been going on.

Denver Riggleman is to the January 6 Committee as Malcolm X was to Martin Luther King. Malcolm was not limited by responsibility to a huge civil rights movement. He was and could be more free to push harder than King. And he helped King be acceptable to more people. Malcolm was clearly aware of this dynamic and said so to Mrs. King. Riggleman can be a maverick without much consequence and this actually can help the January 6 Committee's final report acceptance by the American people.
Honesty is a huge thing and is better it's straightforwardness,truthfulness and is worth of being trusted.

I rather have honesty: for example you have two friends but you're more loyal to one rather than the other, the other friend child is missing and you know not only where that other friend child is but you also know who took their child, by you being more loyal to that friend that took the other friend child you sit and smile in their face not being honest enough to inform that other friend where their child is, now ask yourselves which would you rather have Honesty or Loyalty.
