They really do sound better than ever. They all sound great, but I'm really impressed with Stewart's drumming these days.
I saw them in Melbourne a week ago.......just a brilliant concert! Just a fantastic band, and the magic is still there!
Staples Center, June 20th 2007 I will have the best cry of my life...'cos I never thought I'd get to see them play live. I was too young to see them back in the day...this is a long time coming. Bring on the night :)
Just got back from seeing them at the Oakland Coliseum, they were amazing. They sounded so tight, and Stewart was awesome to watch, he is the master of the high hat
My Gosh, your comment is 15 years old now...🤯🤯
@@jeshkam So am I lol! Funny how fast time flies man, kind of scary
i saw them in new orleans on June 30th 2007. It was inexplicable! The trio really has AUTHORITY! I shoot videos of them as well. I was trully blessed to be there!
Vi a The Police en Barcelona en 2007, jamas estuve mas entusiasmado y emocionado por verlos juntos de nuevo, fue fantastico e irrepetible....!!!
Sting is wearing a beret and fishnet sleeves. He's a bigger queen than I am.
The overabundance of egos is what did them in...They are phenomenal, and they know it...
Long live Sting though. He has helped the world far more than he's hurt it.
i dont care of what Sting thinks, for me The Police is a great band formed by 3 great musicians, my dad is a huuuuge fan I went with him to see them on Mexico it was awesome
singing and playing bass ar the same time is a gift few people can do it and do it well
And beeing a Master and unique in both of Those Things !
saw them in seattle - best concert I've ever seen in my life!!! If you don't go and see them on this tour, you will be missing something really special!
I saw them at Staples in 07- they were Stings backup band and they were NOTHING like they once were thank you GORDON
went to the concert in sydney last night...simply sensational..police still rocking on after 30 yrs!!!
Thanx for the Police-Comeback!!!!
K I have a great plan guys! lets trash talk about the Police even though we can't play, sing, or even be like them in any way at all!
Saw them last night! THE POLICE ROCK!!!!! i loved the concert.
Cool. Sounds like their monitors need work but they'll improve. Stewart is a madman on the drums.
great post, cheers mate, not been able to make it to any of the concerts so this was a treat, specially as it wasn't a shite clip off someones cell phone!
The difference between the Police and the Rolling
Stones, given the relative age of these bands are The
Police actually have extreme talent. So not to step on your toes, The Police still rock!!!
And no offence to the late Charlie, Stewart is a proper drummer.
nothing sting ever does is a surprise. this guy plans every single word he says. hasnt said an unhearsed word in 30 years
Hello 2020
Is it a good or a bad thing?
Holy smokes, why did they wait so long?! I would have seen them every year that they went on tour. I saw them last year, and if they tour again this year, I'll see them again.
Stu is quite odd but one of the most impressive drummers ever none the less.
grandissimo Copeland,.... sei il mio idolo!
I am livin for them to come to Philly on the 19th can not wait!
Awesome. I'm really wishing I lived near a venue..
then fungulo, you're extremely hard to please. They blew me all the way to fan heaven last night in Adelaide, and I don't think I'll be back down for weeks. to come back 30 years later and not only sound the same, but for sting to be better ripped than he was in the eighties, is something that just doesn't happen with hardly any other act in rock history - this tour just wasn't a string of concerts, it was a historical event, and I felt so priviledged to be allowed to witness it.
I believe that if the Police were to do this all again...if they did it a certain way, they would probably top their reunion tour.
Sting has always put off an arrogant vibe. The best interview I ever saw of him where he came across as more personable was on "Sunday Morning". But the man has heart and has done a lot for his various charities.
I'm going to see them in Fenway Park on July 28th, should be great. Haven't seen them live before, they broke up when i was in my single digits. I like how their songs sound now, like what they did with them.
I met Sting, going back quite a few years ago,by no means, was this man arrogant. He was very down to earth and spoke to my friend and I like we were one of his buddies. So, I don't know what all of you are talking about. Maybe, I caught him on a good day!!!
I hope there´ll be a live dvd of this tour
Whatever...this is the GREATEST band of all time and they still rock the crap out of any other lame ass band out there today.
CAN'T WAIT FOR JUNE 23rd! DODGER STADIUM!!!
i saw them live in adelaide 2008 great band great live.
he still uses his signature Tele, but obviously its one of the new ones, the original its locked somewhere in his house
I had the chance to meet Stewart Copeland back in '93 or '94 and he was a very cool guy.
it's because at his age, it's a little harder to play rock n' roll with traditional grip. and no, he's still been playing, just not in high profile situations. he's been playing since 2001 with oysterhead, gizmo, and making other little jams around the west coast.
Yeah, you were right about them getting better as the tour progresses. Check them performing live in Tokyo in 2008. Everything is so much better, especially the overall sound. Copy and paste: Police - Walking on The Moon (HD) in the search engine and go from there. It makes me wonder if this guy who was mixing the opening show went with them to Japan, because the difference in sound is incredible
Gotta love these guys. Sting waited too long though. He should have gotten these guys back together 10 years ago.
I think he cheated the fans and his bandmates. And I'm a huge Sting fan.
Amen brother
I know when Sting realized he was fked as a solo act...when he had to share the venue. Ex. w/Annie Lenox otherwise he wouldnt sell out...he shouldve reunited after 2000, after Desert Rose.
If I had it my way, not only would The Police do another reunion tour, but make it bigger and better than their last tour.
And by that, I mean a longer duration, say a 3-4 year tour with breaks in between each leg, play more shows and focus STRICTLY on playing arenas and stadium's.
AND, have a FIXED setlist in the exact same song order throughout the entire tour so it's fair game for all fans in terms of who hears what songs, and no opening act(s) so they can play more songs and have 2 sets with an intermission in between. Also, add some sort of theme in the jumbo tron and maybe introductory videos for extra hype.
The sad thing is, this is all 99.9% likely NEVER to happen, and is simply just wishful thinking 😔
Setlist would be:
Set 1:
1. Message in a Bottle.
2. Synchronicity II.
3. Spirits in the Material World.
4. Demolition Man.
5. Walking On the Moon.
6. Voices Inside My Head / Behind My Camel / When the World Is Running Down, You Make the Best of Whats Still Around.
7. Don't Stand So Close to Me.
8. Driven to Tears.
9. Hole in My Life.
10. Truth Hits Everybody.
11. Every Little Thing She Does is Magic.
12. Wrapped Around Your Finger.
Intermission.
Set 2:
13. Bring on the Night.
14. The Beds Too Big Without You.
15. Murder by Numbers.
16. De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da.
17. Invisible Sun.
18. Walking in Your Footsteps.
19. Can't Stand Losing You / Reggatta de Blanc.
20. Roxanne.
Encore:
21. King of Pain.
22. So Lonely.
23. Every Breath You Take.
Encore 2:
24. Next to You (with Shadows in the Rain outtro).
Now if only all 3 members committed to that exact setlist for the entire tour then it'd make the gigs pretty straightforward for them. But in particular, if only Sting was willing.
thank you sting. this is what i trust too. my instinct. curiously, i put a band together wich is no more then a police cover band and i called the two guys that were part of my first band, almost 20 years ago and their reaction was very good, since we split up not as best friends too...
The New Orleans show last night was sick- they've definitely found it......
@novanine9 they're not gonna make an album. they decided that as soon as their reunion tour is over, that's it for the Police
I'm a huge fan of The Police! But this is some pretty unexciting stuff!
JUL 20 HERSHEY PARK cant wait
Sting IS Dr. Smith! Seriously though, they broke up way too soon, and it would've been great if they collaborated more along the way.
it's a drummer's glove. some wear 'em so when they hold the stick, they have a better grip. you drop the stick less

They waited so long because they couldn't stand each other. After all those years, a lot of water passed under the bridge.
Lol @ Andy Summers just as Copelans saays "now.." he comes out with "We're old and Arrogant" probably not far off.
I love the Police I really do but I'm afraid I cant stand Sting, his vanity/ego shines through....
Copeland seems about the only one thats really happy to be there... Summers is a bit "world weary" with it all.
Good stuff
great instincts sting....and a hundred million guaranteed can't hurt.
Sting, cuando ganaste mas fama y popularidad de solista? o de vocalista???? The Police are BACK!!!
You guys are lucky, I've got to wait till September to see them!! Going on my fiances bday, he''l be made up when he finds out!!
I bet their stock brokers and bank managers were more excited than anybody about the reunion. I'm usually bored at live shows. I saw the Police in the 80s, I think. It's easy to forget. I'd rather watch young doing karaoke at the local bar here in NDG, at least there's some real human drama there.
They are good but the stones live blows them away!!
Totally agree...but dont blame sting about the song tempo's, thats Stewarts responsability.
Holy bajesus!
This video does NOT do Sting a tribute. If this was their opening night I'm extremely glad I got to see them after they did many more concerts. Sting in this video sounds very odd to say the least, but when I saw him in chicago (07 and 08) and in New York (07), he sounded much better than this...he was awesome.
Also...Stuart and Andy simply rock.
Saw them last night at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff. They were awesome but the venue was too big and had suffered for the ebay money-grabbers snapping up a lot of tickets and failing to sell them on. There were a lot of empty seats and as a result a slightly muted atmosphere. This is no snipe at the band though. They were genuinely excellent.
Compared to how they were in 1983 they never even managed to get out of 1st gear.
First show in Vancouver was a bit sloppy by their standards. But a week or two later, they were firing on all cylinders.
eeeeh ok and where is RUSH so The Police is the 3rd
I dont think they have ruined it - they come back a much mellower band with a softer sound
They are getting on remember - to come back with the old sound would of been wrong - a good band changes with the times.
Only a new album will tell if it was right or wrong to come back?
of course!
but i think that charly took the look of copeland's hehe the students trying to be like his master.
The only reason Sting did this tour is his solo career is all but over and why not capitalize on a sure thing for money. Stewart was one of my favorites as a kid because of his own style. Not even in the Neil Peart class.
Un'altro tour dei Police prima di andare in pensione sarebbe fantastico.
they got back together to make money - I was there biggest fan in their time - they ended up hating eqch other. Sting, obviously doesnt need the cash, but it raises his profile!!!
Soda Stereo sounds away much better live!!! YES INDEED!!!
Jeez!!! Gordon Sumners is Sting!! Not really a fan huh?!?!?!?!
Well the intensity is gone from "Material" that's for certain. Obviously you're in a different head-space than you were when you performed them last, but people quite honestly come to hear how they used to be. Not a modern day arrangement. Yes? No?
play nice boys. But if you wanna see bad language check out "sting gets pissed" Classic clip. :p
aca no tocaron spirits in the material world
man... sting speaks exactly like julian bream.
ODD!
:p
Give me a break!
maybe for blisters???
Really interesting Christophgerald that no one seems to agree with you. Maybe you just wish you could play guitar like Andy Summers.
seein em 2morrow in Hershey... already packed like 5 pair of underwear... lol
Comparing apples and oranges never work... I prefer Sting and the Police but I would never say that the stones are less good.
OH, BTW I'm a Maiden/Metallica fan so talking 'bout blowing away. Let's compare some more apples with oranges. Maiden blows the Stones to Mars anyday ;-)...
OK I know this is just opening night & they would most likely get better as the tour progressed, but I had always heard that they were not a great band live & this kind of confirms this for me. I personally don't think they sound that great here. I have seen Sting recently & he is one of the few from his era that still sounds good & can hit the notes, but here he sounds bad.
I would imagine that their drug use didn't do anything to help their relationship, or make themselves more professional.
were you hidden in his basement inside his bassdrum aaalllll this time?
or have you talked to his wife about the real fashion reason she personally thinks the glove is all about but hes too shy to tell the white glove frenesy he feels to the whole world?
so... come on brother!
why is everybody always so sure about what is inside ones mind?
sting's voice is gone
I don't believe they are doing for the $, I think they're just doing it for a laugh. It may be a factor, but not the actual reason behind it.
going bald..
Bruce willis is the man sting wants to be!
sting pisses the hell out of me
ROFLMAO....lucky sperm club.....perfect. Wanna see a REAL ROCK BAND COME BACK??????? check out the Van Halen opening show in Charlotte NC. All bets against em....backs against the wall....
It's so great to see these guys together again; but it's so bizarre that Sting and Stewart Copeland are now played by Jonathan Harris and Robert Redford!... just kidding!
why did they have to come back and ruin all of my memories?! Copeland doing an interview with a white glove? The only reason why drummers wear gloves is when they've got blisters from playing too much, and copeland hasn't played to much in like 20 years.
they look freakin bored here, man.
fuck...come to cincinnati.you'd sell out paul brown stadium...come on...
Behind Nirvana, So Sorry Sting. The Police are the 2nd Greatest 3 peice band Ever.
I went!!! The first thing Sting said was, "I love miami, cause everybody is so sweaty, they looked like they just had sex." It was pretty funny. If Zeppelin tours I'm going. Not sure if I'm gonna go see Van Halen, when are they touring? Did it pass? Probably did.

Uh, hey buddy, you know all those Police songs you love? Sting wrote 'em! Well, all the hits, anyway. If Sting wasn't The Police, then why didn't Stuart and Summers start a new band with a new vocalist? If they were The Police, replacing Sting shouldn't be a problem, right?
By the way, Sting and Andy have always been jazzy. Go back and listen to the Police records, especially from Regatta De Blanc on. There's a bit of jazziness in a lot of their music.
wow they sound really bad on several songs
Dont be hatin',Sting is God.
Yeah right!! Who has the millions from writing hits and how does not !!!
He is miles better than you
GM place sucks!!!!!! I was at w shows there in the last 2 months. The guards are way to out of hand. I mean kicking a guy out of the floor for sparking a joint at Roger waters during the Dark Side of The Moon Set was beyond silly. The out of control drunk that punched an 18 year old girl in the head was brought to you by the beer stand. wtf?
