Thanks for that great information! My husband and I are avid cyclists but we've never cycled for more than one day on a trip. A cycling tour is definitely something we'd like to do in future. 1.5 years to launch a video - impressive! 😜
1.5 years is scraping the surface of my content! 2021 is going to be good for all my subscribers to see what I've been up to :) I 10000000% recommend going on a 3 DAY trip. If you can do 3 days, you can do 30...sort of hahahaha. Even today, I pulled open Adventure Cycling's interactive map to see what routes are over here on the east coast
Thanks for this! I've been living on my bike every winter for a few years now and am fed up with Google maps putting me on life-threatening highways or bridges that are out for obviously years and you have to balance on beams with your stuff 😂😂😂. Besides, I much prefer paper maps and this is such exciting news to me! Tailwinds to you!
I love the Strava Global Heatmap to help figure out new routes, since it shows where others have biked frequently. And it's sometimes a check on "is this road actually passable?"
No way. This is a super awesome tip. How do you keep your phone or strava device charged on a trip? Any issues with signal loss? It seems like cell coverage officially covers only 10% of the world.
@@ErikDouds The heatmap page is more for pre-trip planning, though you can get it on mobile, it would just be a real pain to use that way. My multiday trips have all been either just one overnight camping, or using Warm Showers or hotels, so I was able to recharge. Otherwise I leave the phone mostly off and just check in once in a while. I carry a Garmin Inreach Explorer+ GPS which I keep on when riding, and that does satellite texting worldwide.
Looking for a way to plan a walking trip/ route setting the miles I walk per day. Apps or any advice welcome. I’m walking across Kansas and trying to find an easier option than a ruler 📏 on the Atlas
Where are you from? And where would you plan a bike trip?
Erik Douds You know I’m from India..I wish I could plan bike trip in US..😅😅
Delhi.
Want to bike trip to Himachal and NE India specially to see Shirui Lily @ Shirui Hills Ukhrul district, Manipur.
