    Shouldn't it be BC/DB instead? When you rotate the smaller triangle the side of DB = BC of the larger triangle. I tink Khan might have not elaborated on this part so I'm confused if you can simply substitute it for DC just because DC is numbered while DB isn't. It's not an isosceles either.

    This seems like an impossible shape.... If a line intersecting a right angle is perpendicular to its opposite side of a triangle, than the line MUST bisect the right angle, correct? Therefore both sides of the perpendicular line (AD and DC) would be the same length, correct? Still a good video though! THANKS for all your work, its helping my daughter A LOT in her geometry class :)

      No that is not correct, it would only be correct if the triangle is isosceles.

    Why is it squared? Shouldn't it be 2BC so then answer would be 8?

    I don't understand why it's stated that their are only three triangles visible when I can clearly see 5..

      those two yellow triangles on the top are showing that its a right angle, those dont need to be there :/
