I still wonder why the racers wear Lycra shirts and jerseys. If it were me I’d wear something with more protection. One fall says it all- pain and blood. I’d also opt for a hydration pack.
Because is more comfortable, you seldom crash if is usually some scratches. Plenty of support during the race so a backpack is not necessary, but for back markers should be required.
