Maybe this isn't the place to ask this, but I've been wondering lately if there really is such a thing as a "happy memory". Whether I'm reflecting on something good or bad, the end result is nearly always me in tears. The "bad" memories make me cry for obvious reasons & the "good" memories make me sad cuz those days are gone, I didn't appreciate them at the time & I will never get them back again.

Well actually, when Fred heard The Beatles 'Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds' he thought they were singing 'in disguise' and wrote this song as a send up. True story.
I think as kids we all fell for that one. {Judy in the Skies} LOL In fact, I remember some kids in the neighborhood at one point were having a serious debate about the authenticity of the title (Judy In Disguise) once a slow-moving unconfirmed rumor had gotten around suggesting what the real lyrics/title was. LOL. Older Teens knew & were armed with that fact older teens would hope Judy In Disguise would help them figure out what the whole song was about exactly and perhaps help in figuring out some of the other misunderstood... I mean miss-enunciated words. I don't have to tell you in this case for this song, it was a failed endeavor. Older teens get to watch American Bandstand and Sole Train and see and hear things live. As kids were screwed. But as kids and even teens, It's not our fault, for a couple legitimate reasons. Remember, we didn't have quick covenant access to lyrics to our favorite songs back then. It wasn't often, but sometimes they would have a promotional deal or something for an album and put all the lyrics to every song on/inside the album cover. Again, it's a rare thing. Otherwise, you had to listen to the music very carefully over & over to copy it verbatim yourself. Normally, albums did not come with their own lyrics. Now the biggest problem was and still is, some of these damn singers had/have big issues with their enunciation skills. Elton John was one of them, notorious for saying words and phrases that nobody could understand or make out. As a musician (Guitar & Vocals), the enunciation of vocals is important for clarity to the listener(s)/congregation. Sometimes, depending on the music arrangement, and where you're singing from, indoor studio, indoor stage, outside stage, open field, on a tall building, in a cave, with or without a mic, etc... you may have to deliberately miss-enunciate a word(s) or phrase(s) so that the listener(s)/congregation/audience can actually understand those same words or phrases you deliberately miss-enunciated. Sounds crazy, I know, but it's true. Enunciate; refers to speech. when we speak slowly or sing, fluently & powerfully = with eloquence, we are Enunciating. If you can remember back as a kid, trying so damn hard to figure out what he/she singer just said after listening to him/her over & over again for hours and you still can't figure out the word(s) or phrase, that's mostly the fault, of the singer. Great song to dance to with my beloved wife.
Suddenly this spectacular song fell into my brain!❤
Shut your eyes and listen what a great track
Shut your eyes and just remember how good the ol days were before we surrendered
This was my ex husbands favorite song in 1969 and we got married in 68 then he left us in 79 and I never seen it coming. Remember us al in Georgia
Just great sound,it give me chills..
This song was my first 45 rpm record i bought with my first Saturday part time job at Woolworths and i still have it, didn't understand the lyrics very much at the time, but it was good to dance to!
Fun era in music
Love this song! My sister had the 45 which I now have. I treasure all the 45's that were passed down to me.
