As a fellow woodcarver I can honestly say it will be hard for any man to become as talented as this master craftsman. Also the narrator has a great voice I could listen to him talk all day. Perfect voice for this documentary
What amazes me the most is that there are people capable to give this exquisite video a thumb down. They do leave their negativity around RUclips and no video--no matter how good--is spared. I would like to see who these people are and why they are doing this.
It's more prozaic than you might think. If you are looking for fashion tips or celebrity gossip, having RUclips feed you videos on woodcarving might not be what you're after. Giving it a thumbs down informs the RUclips algorithm that you'd rather not see more videos like this.
I even wonder why you give 'them' so much recognition! This has nothing to do with Carved with Love.... Why do you even go where there is no Beauty? Come back and Immerge yourself in our topic.... Some people just don't have the Ability to recognise Beauty and Harmony.... This video has planted a seed in 'them' ...
Yep, also uses a much larger gouge, most likely to exaggerate the difference for the camera - I carve in oak and yes, it does not take the detail that lime can but it still carves nicely.
He's also using American oak completely different than slow grown English oak that the carvers here used and on the continent, david esterly was a Brilliant carver so not knocking the man.
Actually there is a composer called Orlando Gibbons from the seventeenth century but I don't think they were related. The actor Orlando Bloom is named after the composer Orlando Gibbons.

The narrator is Mr. Mason from "Downton Abbey".
This man's work is outstanding.

Se puede conseguir con subtítulos en español
Where are the Master Craftsmen today?
The carver compares lime with the grain, with oak across the grain

anyone knows the intro song? the one that starts at 0:37
Bit of a silly question but i wonder if Grinling was born now would he think about using a dremel or a power carver ?
that name is straight out of a Harry Potter Novel!
I wish He was my Mentor!!!!
10:57 I wonder what this beautiful music is and how I could find out??
Alex ~ Look under the \/ at the top of comments and under the screen of the video and a lot of music is attributed to the video.

The 'cut', so to speak, that ends this video is a bit outrageously careless.
