    These prices are still crazy. I bought a brand new 2019 in 2019, msrp was roughly $40k, paid $23k for it. 36 ft long, bunk house, outside kitchen, full bathroom, slept 11 ppl, fireplace, two slide outs, full master bedroom, etc. Everyone needs to come back to reality with the prices nowadays

    • @BigTruckBigRV
      @BigTruckBigRV  Год назад +6

      What brand did you buy though? Brand plays a big part. A 36ft long Puma for example would have a MSRP that is about $20k less than this trailer. So discounts from that would make it around $20k

    I have a micro Minnie 2108fbs. The floor plan is great. It tows very well behind my Tacoma. It fits my needs very well. The fly in the ointment is the quality control, especially in the 2022 models. I’ve had a couple of serious problems that still aren’t resolved. I’ve talked with Winnebago customer service and they are aware of the quality control issues with their towables and they’re taking steps to improve. The only positive I can take away from this experience is how quickly my dealer (Kirby’s Barber RV in Ventura CA) gets my trailer in for service and gets it out so that I’m not looking for alternative living arrangements. This is far and above what is the normal for RV dealer service departments. Quality control issues aside, this trailer is very comfortable, has room for all my stuff and is very good for anyone wanting to full time in a smaller unit.

    Other factor to consider is buying in the “off season” winter time, we scored our ‘23 Jay feather 25RB in January marked at MSRP of $52k marked at $36k with a $11k on trade in. Overall happy with the transaction

  • @brentfrench752
    @brentfrench752 Год назад +6

    It’s a nice little unit, but nobody in their right mind would pay $51k for this! I think $31k is even a little high, but it’s likely within the going rate.

    Just bought a 2022 Prowler 240RB for 17k. That’s a deal. This…is a joke. Yea I know they’re not exactly comparable but for what you do with this size and type of trailer you’d be insane to pay this for that trailer. Certifiably so. I know quality…I sold a 2014 Montana 3402RL last year so I know the difference but I also know if you’re looking for “high quality” you’re not banging around in a small tow behind trailer. This is like paying 5k for a high end Timex watch. It’s just a timex.

    A nice looking unit that is similar to what we purchased, but we don't have and did not want a slide. We purchased a used 2019 Flagstaff E-Pro 19BH (it is single axle) in October of 2022 for $15,000; and it was/is in excellent condition and almost looked like it had not been used! Some points of consideration for the rig spotlighted in this video:
    1. It is a "Covid Trailer" meaning it was built when demand was through the roof and staffing at RV manufacturers was very low with a lot of plants operating at greatly reduced capacity but cranking them out as fast as possible with a lot of lesser skilled workers. Although all RV's have issues, these Covid trailers generally have a ton more and the quality has declined.
    2. Although we did not want a slide, these Schwintek slides on some larger units have had a host of problems (Google Grand Design/Schwintek). Since this is a smaller unit, the slide concerns may not be an issue.
    3. Even with a discount, that price is still very high! There are used 2020 (built in 2019; I would not buy anything built in 2020-2022) rigs like this selling for less that $25,000 (and still negotiable).

    Great video! We waited til March to buy our 2022 Flagstaff Classic 832BWS. We knew that the only dealer close to us had two of these that have been on there lot for awhile. They finally marked them down to make room for the 2023 models. We got ours for significantly less than they were originally priced just by being patient. If we hadn’t have waited, we would never have been able to afford them at the original price.

    I’ve never RV’d before. I’d like to rent several times before I were to buy to see if this is the lifestyle for me. That is a great savings for sure on this rig. Seems to me in my research that RV’s is like buying furniture…. WAY overpriced to begin with. But I do have a question…. Aren’t the 2020 models considered part of the Covid era of RV’s? I would NEVER own a Covid era camper. Too much risk of buying something at these prices with so many quality issues from that era.

    Nice little trailer, and Winnebago does a good job with their fit and finish.
    With 2024's hitting the market and being delivered every day, I'm not sure that 2022 is a "steal" as you put it.
    What you need to do is ask the dealer how much that trailer has deprecated in the 2 model years it's been sitting, then you'll have a pretty good idea as to how much of a "steal" it really is.

    On Winnebago's website, for the 2023 model of this RV they list the axle ratings at 4,000 bls. each, yet the GVWR remains listed as 6,000 pounds. I wonder if that's a typo, because if it isn't, then I would think it could handle a bit more than the listed 1,350 lbs. of cargo carrying capacity.

    What is crazy is this guy thinks that unit should still cost 31000. There is no way anyone should have to pay more 25k for unit like this even if it were a 2023. I like his channel from the point where he goes over units and shows you all about the units. But he has never done much in the way of speaking up for customers and letting these companies know that they outline with their pricing. I know he will get mad at this post but I really don’t care. If he can’t take honest feedback then maybe he shouldn’t being doing this for a living.

      I’ve been posting comments on his channel about this very topic. A perfect example is how he didn’t completely go after Patriot Campers for the outright price gouging they do with every one of their tiny trailers. For a tiny trailer that you have to attach a tent to the top just to have a place to sleep, they are charging $70,000. It’s borderline criminal.
