Hey Man thanks for all the advice, I'm 16 and pretty into raising Birds, I have alot of Pigeons, Ringneck Doves, Chickens, Geese, Call Ducks, Turkeys and Button Quail, Hopefully soon I'll be getting into the more exotic Species like Wood Ducks, Peafowl, Finches, Cockatiels, Bobwhite Quail and Pheasants, I love your channel and you encourage me to keep doing what I'm doing, Us Bird people look out for eachother 👍

❤ Love watching you. I wish I would have found you when I lived in Tampa area. I was a Funeral Director and Embalming Supervisor. I STAND CORRECTED, as I stated I was looking for a "proven pair" of white canaries. What I want is just like you said.....a male from one family and a female from another not related. I really believe you have a lot of integrity.
    Blessings, Jerry Roth

Wonderful to see the parrots in their new enclosure, bit concern about those door latches ,my experience with hookbills is that they can easily undo them. Looking eagerly to see what the breeding season brings.

Hello. I am a follower of your Aviary for many years now, and I admire your birds and you for the awesome job you do. I have birds too and I have problem with the city regulations in GA. I have small parrots in a finished shed. Could you please tell us more about the land you bought? Needs to be a farm, agricultural area or just a land is ok? Do you need specific permit etc. Thanks

I had my canaries in their cages out in my open garage to get some morning sun, and a small hawk came and grabbed 2 through the wire and pulled them out, I have since wrapped the cage in chicken wire, enclose that ASAP! Thanks

    Saludos!

Love the set up. What material did you use to make the cage? I’ve been planning on doing a custom cage for my birds

Not a big fan of your new enclosures, to small, not much stimulans and enrichment for the birds. Australian parrots need at least 9 ft or more to thrive, australian parrots love to forage on the ground, a more natural environment so they display there natural behavior more. Just my opinion of course.

RANCEL Hooded took my pair 2 years old to start breeding. BUT you never know. Young Female's could become eggbound.

Hey mate, Looking great the new setup came up a treat, you might find that the hooded will go into a molt now they are out in the open and they might colour up. Don't get too disheartened if they have clear eggs the first time happened with my birds when they were young but it all counts as experience for the female.

I love this setup, opened and airy. My only question is, how do plan to control the copious amount of rat snakes you're going to have to contend with not to mention other wildlife.

Still have them, they have just been resting for the last 5-6months in the outdoor aviary waiting for the beggining of the breeding season that starts now

@@paradiseaviaryhello..... will you be putting finches back in the cages for the breeding season, or will you let them continue in the aviary. Which gives you best results, cages or in the aviary as mixed collection

First of all, your birds are beautiful. I'm an experienced bird breeder myself and they look great.
I was just wondering what the English word is for "kakariki" that is what we in Belgium call the last pair you put in the new cages. I can't find it on Google for some reason. I also breed these.
But yeah, keep up the good work and I surely hope you'll have some pretty chicks soon👍

    • @paradiseaviary
      @paradiseaviary  Год назад +1

Thankyou so much I appreciate that. Here we also call them kakarikis, but I call them crackheads lol they are the most energetic species in the entire aviary ! Really hope it goes well for me this season but like with everything else im sure there will be a learning curve until I get use to them

Kakariki is small parrot in Maori. Kakariki is also used for the colour green. 😊

You dont "throw", them in a cage. You "place them", in their cage. Good content anyway.
