honestly i dont think vars has a problem with ad shaco, he just hates ap shaco. this entire video was made about ap shaco which is probably also why he says he doesnt consider shaco an assassin.

I love shaco. Where with my boxes, they set up like a tow truck. The only way out is my way in. And "assassinating" is a miracle at times 😂. And people say they hate playing against shaco. I break my back to see those moments happen.
I want Riot to see this reaction. Riot & Players are just biased towards Shaco and that's all. They call AP Shaco Assassin playstyle and Shaco itself toxic champion meanwhile they have a bunch of other toxic champions like Viego, Mordekaiser but nah "they're intended to be like this". Literally any other champion is more toxic than Shaco. You can do mind tricks with other champions to tilt an enemy simply using your emote button or taunt the enemy or write something tilting in the chat. But should we cancel a chat then? Everything is toxic and Shaco is not the problem.
Shaco Mains are the ones who are being biased by everyone. Season 14: I can play a little bit of Protobelt + Lich Bane Shaco Top/Mid again at my Plat account and some son of a "good girl" literally bans my champ and calls me a troll. And you think that's because of me going off-meta? People keep banning my weak champion everywhere from Bronze to Emerald accounts and even when I go Jungle they still sometimes ban me. Now I ban their champion even if they don't ban mine. 🤡🤡🤡

As a jungler main, the reason i hate shaco and nunu is because my teammates in d4 tend to not ward nor respect the fact that they're in the enemy team and they snowball very quickly to the point where i cant play the game. But playing shaco is fun af, anyone who played the champ will agree for sure

YO chase , i just tested new shaco clear, and you can do solo birds lvl 1 with 3 W´s and 1 auto. so you can can start red buff, come back to birds for 1 aa and continue red buff , like it has been 1 year ago. it feels huge!
I will say shaco feels more like an assassin than he has in years. Lethality items and the removal of resistance runes make him feel super good this season.
Chase. Could you do a more in-depth video on Shaco's real category. A comparison between seasons would be sick.

Shaco is an AD Assassin or an AP Mage.
The ability to have CC does not automatically make a champion an Anticarry. According to our friend's statement, every champion with Hard CC would be considered an Anticarry. For instance, if a Lux roots you, preventing movement, then activates her Ult without you having a counterplay, and it's a fed Carry champion, would she be considered an Anticarry? No. Same like Shaco.
This often occurs when people create a video about a champion without having played them in the mentioned roles and playstyles beforehand.
I would also argue that anyone who fails to reach Master 200 LP+ with Shaco likely hasn't truly grasped the champion or the game itself.
Hating champs like teemo who are cancer and easy to play is fine. Hating on champs you never dare to pick in a ranked game is just pure copium

I tried explaining all those things to him but he doesn't care about anything else than his emotional opinion about one of the most useless champions in the game that he thinks is strong.
He compaired shaco invis vs 1shot any1 mashine, that ignores wards, and can camp u in the middle of the lane and you wont know, and vs twitch, that opens from invis with r and kills entire teams... while shaco opens from invis and slowly poking you in the ass for 3-4 seconds and thats it.. 1 person is poked. 1. Ev charm alarm- makes whole teams move and change positions, give up objectives, leave minions, etc.

One thing I disagree with, is that AP shaco is better from behind than AD shaco in my experience.
Where did he say that? Both are complete dogshit from behind LOL.
He is at least 200% correct about Shaco (more so AP) being an anti-carry. Hard cc isn't enough for a champ to have that type of classification otherwise Lux would be considered an anti-carry. The reason why Lux doesn't count is because her cc can be used both offensively and defensively with OPTIMAL CONSISTANCY. Malzahar doesn't really use his hard cc for offensive purpose during a teamfight bc he would prob be killed quickly during it, but using it to react to the enemy engage is often the best use-case for him. Shaco with his ult and w fits the anti-carry role perfectly.

I think the problem is you misunderstood the guy's objective of the video. His videos are rarely actually about what the title says. I clicked on one of his videos about how jungle became the most important role and all he talked about was basic stuff and patch notes. Needless to say I don't watch them anymore

I play Shaco support on the duo account I play with a friend, where we just mess around in Diamond (rip duo queue). It's fun to annoy people and control space with boxes. To be fair, I also play Teemo support and do basically the same thing but better by spamming the hell out of buffed shrooms with the item that gives R cdr and MR shred on top of mana. The idea of being able to throw down a shaco box mid-fight in the area of the fight isn't even laughable, the box dies to half an auto from Lulu.
All that said, if you don't have someone with you that understands how to play with shaco support, have fun inting. I've lost count the number of times I had an ADC drag minions into my boxes I have set up WAY out of the path of minions but close enough to act as a peel if they get jumped (which will happen, Shaco can be annoying tossing low damage daggers and putting up a few boxes, but against good players they just dive you, and you're screwed if you can't play around/with boxes correctly).
It would be really Nice if shaco Box and R Scale with AD.
But i love the shaco otp out there that made this guy mad at shaco

Seeing him mad about pink ward and another clip I saw of him complaining about pink ward. Why can’t we clowns just be happy that there’s multiple ways to play our champ and other people, maybe not as high a rank as you, are still finding something they enjoy about the clown and cool outplays to go with it. He’s both, he is an Assassin and zoner. Arguably AP is more frustrating to play against because AD DOESN’T one shot you, which would make it very annoying. Ap just has things to keep momentum going like you said. All in all, he isn’t busted, in either ad or ap, and he is especially weak if he is behind. But He’s really just annoying. Which I think was the point of the video.
