This is definitely a 5 star post. I have NEVER worn my black dress with anything else. This gives me so many ideas. I would have never thought of wearing my black dress with a denim jacket. Love the look. Thanks for all the ideas. It has sparks so many more for me. I so look forward to each and every video from you. Thanks for all you do. I have already integrated many of your ideas and my husband loves them (and so do I.)
For a more casual fall/winter look you can also wear a turtleneck under the dress, warm/opaque stockings and boots. I also like such a dress with a Trenchcoat (same length as the dress or slightly shorter), a scarf and flats. Or a blouse underneath and a nice belt... A simple dress is so versatile. Loved all your outfits.
Love the video! Another suggestion for your little black dress is to wear a tshirt or blouse underneath. I see alot of influencers doing this with sleeveless dresses as another office ready option. It then becomes a jumper.
I always make sure I have something for myself, daughter and husband appropriate for funerals. I really like your date night kimono outfit. The pearl shawl and necklace look would be fun for the opera.

I knew exactly what type of sheath black dress I wanted and I had no idea it would be so hard to find something I thought was just a standard LBD. I finally found it at Penneys a little over a year ago. I really was ready to pay just about anything to get the dress I had envisioned, but this one was not only very affordable but it was also on sale. I am sure I squealed I little in the dressing room when I saw that it fit perfectly. My dress is very similar to #13. Totally classical. Thanks for sharing all these tips, Kay!

I always enjoy your posts! I'm fair-skinned so I find navy or charcoal are less harsh against my complexion. Living in the South, I think it's helpful to have a summer weight LBD and a heavier winter option also.

I love all the options you showed us. I do think though for more versatility the dress should be very simple as yours is. I have a lovely sleeveless black Club Monaco dress with a scalloped neck and scalloped front seam. I love it, but probably a little less versatile as it looks dressier. Kay, you are so right about having something on hand we know is appropriate for funerals. So many times over the years, I've been caught without something I felt comfortable wearing to a family funeral and then tried to rush out and find something - which is not a very good time for clothes shopping. Not to get overly morbid, but while on the convo of funerals - last year, I picked out an outfit to be buried in and told my daughter. I also told her to put me in fuzzy socks, not shoes. haha Not that I plan on dying anytime soon, but I remember how difficult it was to try to pick out something for my mil since she left no instructions on what she wanted to wear.

Hi Ann. Thanks so much. I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos. I suggest you wear very sheer pantyhose in a nude shade, never a tan or anything else that looks unnatural for your skin tone. You can also wear black sheer hose when wearing a black dress or skirt. And only with closed toe shoes. Also look for hose that don’t have high sheen. Just a classy, sheer appearance.
Yes. I mentioned this more in my Spring Wedding Guest video. But you absolutely can wear hose. You just want to keep them very sheer, flesh toned (rather than tan) or black and only wear with closed toe shoes of course. Links to mine are in the description box below. Thanks for watching. 😊

Tfs. I have issues fitting into pumps. Any ideas on what shoes might work in warmer weather, but not open sandals, with a skirt or dress? If not, I'll stick with pants and boots. 🤠
Try going to a Peltz shoe store. The sales staff are well trained and they carry nicer shoes for people that have foot issues.
Well, during the cooler months boots are a great option. And flats can work, too.

If you could, I'd really like to hear more about pantyhose. I guess I'm old school, but I don't feel dressed without them. And my legs don't look as good as they used to. What are your suggestions?

Hi Ann. Thanks so much. I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos. I suggest you wear very sheer pantyhose in a nude shade, never a tan or anything else that looks unnatural for your skin tone. You can also wear black sheer hose when wearing a black dress or skirt. And only with closed toe shoes. Also look for hose that don’t have high sheen. Just a classy, sheer appearance.
Love the looks! Could you talk about wearing hosiery ....as in your funeral outfit? Can we still wear and not look outdated?
Yes. I mentioned this more in my Spring Wedding Guest video. But you absolutely can wear hose. You just want to keep them very sheer, flesh toned (rather than tan) or black and only wear with closed toe shoes of course. Links to mine are in the description box below. Thanks for watching. 😊
