The last 2 Queens that left, did not really know the Ooni. I don't think he dated Queen Wura for a long time, before they got married. Her not being Yoruba did not help matter. She was simply scared off by Ife people, who were bent on having the Ooni marry an Ife indegene. Queen Naomi, I don't think dated the king for long before the marriage as well. A lot of things she didn't know before she got to the palace. After about 2 yrs, her eyes opened, she realised all the women, older women in the palace were actually the King's concubines. The young lady was blogged and bullied by these older women in the palace. Unfortunately, her husband did not stand up for her. Ife people wanted their own as Olori, so they harassed her until she ran. The ones he is marrying now, knows him, they have been his concubines for years. They are ready to stay in the abusive relationship for the title. They know what they are getting themselves into.

Ashley is excited mainly because she has been waiting to be married to him for 3 yrs. He did her introduction and then left her hanging. He did not perform the traditional marriage for 3 yrs. In Yoruba land you are not a wife until your traditional marriage has been done. That traditional marriage was just performed. Now she can be recognised as his wife. That is why she was so excited as she had been mocked by a lot of people.
