Greetings from across the pond, looks like a plover nest, typical placement. There should be a plover nearby doing the broken wing routine, trying to get your attention. Hidden in plain sight. Anyway, that's what we call them here. Skinny little legs, after they hatch, they'll follow along behind.
We found a couple last year, but mostly meadow pippins this year, had a good walk up the moors last week only found another pippin nest , I'm always hopefull I will find one with a cuckoo's egg in there.
