For Budokai z imo it's race variety because their is multiple types of races like sayian warrior, half sayian, namekian priest, namekian warrior, hitman, conscript, Neko majin, uub etc

Saying dbog combat isnt special is surprising to me. You're missing out man, there's a lot of depth. There's sling, dash sling, space sling, hell sling, and perfect blocking to counter sling in general. The defense bar based combat system in the style of xenoverse, but frankly better. If you're willing to have an open mind, I could show you it has as much depth as old school minecraft pvp.
W video man, Dragonball rage and Dragon soul are still my go-to dragonball games, but after watching this video, I denfinely will check these other games out.
