" That woman, whoever she is..." is Gayle McCormick.I knew Gayle about three years before she passed. I didn't see her for about the last year of her life. She was going by a different name, working a regular 9-5 job, didn't want anyone to know who she was, and I've always respected that.
My brother bought a stereo system while in Vietnam back in 69 or 70. Sent it home with this album and a few more. This album sounded so damn good. Side note her name was Gayle McCormick. Sad she died in 2016 of cancer. She was 69. 😢
Thank you for being around for as long as you have been, I don't think you know how much of an influence you've been for people who always wanted to see classic rock tunes being rocked out on guitar by a great player!
what an absolutely wonderful guitar lesson. Your analysis of guitar playing is spot on, 100% correct. I do wish you would give some more detail of the chords you are playing (E5??? do you mean a bar E chord on the 7th fret????) I would of referred to that as the E chord using the open A fretting but barring the 7th fret [insert tab here]. As you properly described the soul of this song lives in the right hand but at least giving the first strum fingering and chord would give me something to start with. thanks again though for your insight it was excellent.
Hi James I really enjoy all you do. I agree with you on the strumming I’m 72 so I played with some off the best in my area, the saying I was given is your fret hand held the string and your other hand created the music, but same thing. Appreciate all your lessons
I press like for pretty much every video of yours. But not just for you. Fronting you algorithmically seems a service to the youtube guitar community. But that doesn't leave much headroom for me to say, "this one!" This one I particularly dug. So here's a second thumb.
first saw her on black and white tv,,pretty and what a voice,,i cant get that strat tone for nothing,, playing thru a fender 65 reverb..cant get close wonderful lesson
Hey, James, great song, huge hit when i was 17! She looks awesome and just belts it out. The HD version is better in all respects! Thanks again for all the great songs and instruction. I've learned more from you than anyone, so appreciated! By the way, which Marshall are you playing through? Are you using an attenuator or pedals? you've got great tone a room volume
Come on! Mick T's rhythm playing on Bitch is spot on :) I wonder whether that was him, but I think I've read an interview with him where he actually said the very same thing about mastering the rhythm in the first place... or did I dream that?
Thanks for bringing this fantastic song back into my life!

Solid gold memory. You’re so right James, this was the only song they needed. Great observation!!

Hey JJ where do you set the action (string height) on your Strat. Nice cover another great Burt Bacharach and David Brothers song.
❤Gayle McCormick❤
Hay JJ I saw your video on the old channel, she’s got some pipes
Is that an E9 chord near the end? You fade with that and the C#m.
I like the T-shirt
A Burt Bacharach tune!

You could buy one at Soldier Field, Chicago, Sept. 8, 2005.
I’m assuming these guys didn’t need the Wrecking Crew.
