I've always loved that hand gesture that Allen used. Added a touch of class to the proceedings.
Allen Ludden always had such class and swagger. He exuded confidence.
I thought he was charming & the consummate professional.

@@lindavangalder879 I was watching an episode last night with Paul Anka & the lovely Rita Moreno who had just turned 33 (she is now 90) anyway, Anka, who I think is really good at this game, had his right arm up & his hand by his temple & Ludden carefully & gently asked Anka to move his arm as "The ladies could not see his handsome face". He smiled. I laughed.

He said pass, but they had not yet gone on to the next letter. I’ve seen that many times.
Allen Ludden has done Password beginning in 1961 and again in 1971 through 1975 followed by Password Plus in January 1979 became I'll very ill to continue Till Bill Cullen did it followed by Tom Kennedy

9:41. I've noticed Allen did this many times....called off the wrong letter during Alphabetics.
This is around the time Mark Goodson lost his partner Bill Todman.

in this episode Mr. Ludden had trouble remembering Ms. Dyson's name. perhaps he was not well.
I think they should have accepted James Bond because he is agent 007. Sort of dumb rule of Password on some of these words!
