I watch all of your videos. Those 6000 sprayers were ahead of their time. My father and I have one we use it for spraying soybeans we also have a fast 2400 gallon pull type sprayer on tracks with 120 foot booms . If those older machines get the job done and are paid for who cares. your profit margin is better when you aren't making payments on new equipment. Keep up the good work and stay safe!

So, my Dad is a retired JD engineer/designer….he created the 6000 from a blank piece of paper. This was JD’s first real entry into hicycle sprayers. I saw the first drawings, balsa wood models, wood designs before it ever reached production….and, at the time, it held the record for being one of JD’s longest running machines in production at the Ankeny Iowa plant….nearly 20 years, I believe. There are a lot of cools stories about this machine and what all went into it. My Dad and another guy, named Charlie, spent the better part of their careers on this machine. Amazing how many are still functioning…. A credit to JD.

3rd gear is like "Ludicrous Speed" from the movie Spaceballs the new speed after Warp Speed. LOL Those 6000s are awesome though, a nice mix with all your modern Deere equipment line.

We had a 6000 once without the cushion front that thing could knock the fillings out your teeth if you hit a ditch lol, then I bought a 6500 with the narrow front that was a nice sprayer I sold it a while back

I have one I'm looking to set up just for fungicide. I'm looking at 20 GPA twin jet nozzles...no drops. Wonder your feelings on drop and set up in general. Anything you'd change? Thnx for the video and your input.

One thing depending on where you live you might need to make a bracket to raise the boom higher.

Is your big deere sprayer not taller than these machines when the booms are all the way up?
