THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!! I WAS GOING CRAZY! I HAD NO IDEA THAT A LITTLE SENSOR WAS THERE. ALL I NEEDED TO DO WAS CLEAN IT!!! I WAS FREAKING OUT!! Now I can shoot without pressing my custom key to switch from EW to Finder! Thank you again. I had to leave a comment.
Thank you Masguapoako, Just like the previous comments, I've spent hours going thru the menu thinking there was something I changed. . when I looked at the viewfinder it didn't even look dirty, you've made my day, knowing I don't have to take my A7II to a technician for an expensive repair. You're a Champion 🙏🏻
Thanks 1000 times, I m on tour right now, I thought this may be a big problem might be sensor is defective. I thought to go to Sony service centre. But just cleaning sensor all my problem solved instantly. I was anxious. Thank you 1000 times you solved my problem. I try to find to solve this issue in google for hours.
Seriously? I’ hit my camera in accident and have the viewfinder glass broke and then the sensor stop work every time when I’ use my camera I’ have to pull the monitor out because the sensor don’t work so I was looking for a video to replace the sensor and I found this video and I get a pice of toilet paper and I clean the sensor in all the viewfinder I turn on my camera and surprise it works so now I don’t have to replace the viewfinder sensor. Thank you so much for these video. It really help me, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!
Congratulations for the video. Well I've a Nikon D7100 and I noticed that the lights indicator at the bottom of the viewfinder are not lighting enough and I prefer using that reading than take out the camera of my face to check in the display, what I mean, is there a possibility to increase the lights??
when my Sony A7R3 is on and ready to take photos, as soon as i turn the camera vertical, the monitor doesnt stay on. i need to pull the monitor out just a little bit in order to work vertical. can you let me know why that happens and the fix for it?
I know its not a fix but if you don't use the EVF and only the monitor, you can change the settings to use monitor only on Finder. /Monitor from Auto to monitor.
@@faizanarab743 does your evf turn on with you cover the sensor? I was gonna suggest changing the settings to test the viewfinder, but if the EVF in broken, you won't be able to switch it back.
When I check my camera's screen, it looks clear. But when I try to peak, it's very blurry, and I can't read the text too. Can you help me fix this issue?
Unrelated to the video above, when I had my camera behave like this (neither LCD nor viewfinder working), connecting the camera to an external display with an HDMI cable and switching the mode (while looking at the menu , now showing up on external display,) back to auto fixed this problem in your question.
funny thing is with screens getting better and autofocus technology is also getting super hot, the viewfinder is becoming so useless... but i do want my camera to work properly no matter what :)

What could be the problem if you cant see anything in viewfinder? The sensor is working but when you look at the viewfinder, it’s all black.
Having the same problem
@@michaelhein4702 I just noticed now huhu. Don’t know maybe it’s been a year like this? I always depend on the lcd tho.
Mine started happening when I started using 3rd party battery.
Its also my problem

I thought it was a sensitivity issue for me. It would just come in and out when I would be behind it. After cleaning it, it’s back to normal 🙏
Glad it worked

WHAT DO I DO I CLICKED MANUAL MODE TO SWITCH IT IN THE SETTING AND NOW THE LCD SCREEN AND VIEWFINDER WONT TURN ON.
Sorry I don't know. I suggest take the battery out for a few minutes and see what happens.
