Konie and her Bucees stuffed animal was soooo cute! I’m so happy that you were able to stay on the beautiful free land and at the Harvest Host farm…a great way to start back on the road! Adam’s Cajun lunch sure didn’t look like a smaller portion! 😂 It sure looked delicious! I think everyone should visit this museum or one like it…people need to be educated…so glad you showed such an important piece of history. Keep traveling safe!
So cool. I live in Florence and it looks like you're coming right through here. I hope you guys have a great time. My van is ready and I retire in 3 more weeks and hit the road going west in 6 more weeks.
Beautiful photography. The Civil Rights Museum in Selma was an amazing find for us. We spoke to someone who was arrested at the protest there. It forever changed us. Thank you for sharing.
SO pumped that you guys are back on the road!! Absolutely love coming along on your adventures while I'm sitting at my desk! My wife and I are hitting the road this fall for a year sabbatical in our van(with our mini poodle Cliff) and these videos make me so excited to finally get out there. Hope to see you guys on the road! -Cody
Yay!!! So glad you guys are back on the road here in the US. Home Sweet Home! Still haven't ever been to a Buccees. Haven't been to Texas, either. We need to do something about that soon. LOL Oh no, so sorry you had electrical issues on the road. So nice to have knowledgeable people who are willing to help puzzle through things. Dad to the rescue. Nice parking spot! Awww, Kona likes it, too!
My husband and I have been watching your van travels for several years now. We love your enthusiasm and your foodie bits in the videos. We live in North Alabama and would have loved to have met you both on your trip through. Maybe next time. Looking forward to your next video to see where you ended up visiting. My bet is the Little River Canyon area as much as ya'll love hiking and nature. Good to see Kona back with you...safe travels!!!!
We wanted to visit Little River Canyon, but due to the National Park filming rules we weren't able to get a filming permit. Never heard back from them 😕 If you see us out on the road say hi! Thanks for watching!
Those bird songs around 10:10 are amazing!! Wow! Totally caught my ear! Thanks for sharing your lives with all of us! Be safe, and have so much FUN!!!! Love from Oregon!
Welcome to Alabama and specifically the northen part and the Tennessee Valley. Hope y'all make it over to Huntsville, my hometown. It really is completely different than the rest of the state with tons of cultural activities but still retains easy access to nature.
We unfortunately didn't have time to visit Huntsville (other than seeing it from the highway). We mostly focused on the nature for that video and were really impressed!
Kona as a puppy is the cutest!😄🤍 So excited that y'all are back to traveling in the van! I'm pretty sure I've been to Marilynn's! I remember it being delicious. Now I want some cajun food.😋What a pretty, free campsite! That one shot of the lake with the trees growing out of the water is beautiful! I might have to paint it.😄Fun video!
On the road again! Excellent video guys! Hope you can find more harvest hosts and some public land on your adventure! The lake was gorgeous at sunset and sunrise!
Great back on the road! What’s next after you visiting all 50 states? Here is my suggestion: ride a ferry east coast with your van to the Europe visiting each country one by one. That’ll be a lot of fun!
We would love to go to Europe, but it's just tough to get our dog Kona over there. As far as we know there is only one cruise that allows dogs on board and it is booked out pretty far with very limited availability in the first place
There is no place like home! Happy to see you back in yours. I am a Maritimer (now living away) so I am really looking forward to your upcoming maritime adventures. I hope you love it like I do! Wishing you safe travels.
So happy to see you're headed to some more places in New England and then into some of Maritime Canada. Nova Scotia has a special place in my heart and I've visited twice. Cape Breton Island is incredible and the Cape Breton Highlands National Park is amazing for a road trip. There's one road that acts like a partial ring road (Cabot Trail), and off it are lots of walking trails. Some are really short, others longer but none are too taxing. There's lots of variety from low coastal walks, high cliff coast walks, bogs, (with boardwalks) rivers etc. The Skyline is a must do. I spotted a female moose on it early into the trail in 2009 and a male right at the end with the ocean for a backdrop when hiking it in 2016. Because it's a popular trail, the Moose don't get spooked by people so as long as people keep their distance, they just get on with their thing regardless of your presence! As you drive up to the park, you'll likely go through Whycocomagh. There's a Provincial Park campsite and it's a trailhead for Salt Mountain (mountain being used very loosely) it's a short but steep trail up to a spectacular view point over the Bras D'Or Lakes. An hour or 2 needed tops. Around that area are a number of woodland-waterfall walks too. Again, short and not taxing! On the mainland, the likes of Mahone Bay, Lunnenburg and Peggy's Cove are all picture perfect places. I highly recommend Jo Ann's deli market and bake shop in Mahone Bay if you go. Kejimkujik National Park has 2 parts - inland national park, there are some hiking trails, but overnight canoe trips seemed to be the big thing there. But their Seaside Unit was stunning, white sand beaches and turquoise waters!!! Budget never allowed, but you can go 'white water rafting' on the Bay of Fundy at a specific time each day as you catch the bore - very unique! But about this video, the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum looked really good and can't believe it was only $15!! The free campsite was stunning too, it felt more like the north eastern states, not Mississippi! As for the photo of Kona as a puppy with the Buc-ees' cuddly toy - my heart officially melted! How old is she now?
I'll have you know after reading this comment this morning Kathryn booked a canoe trip in Kejimkujik National Park about two hours later 😂 and we are so pumped for it! Thanks for all those recommendations! We will definitely look into all of that! Thank you! The Civil Rights Museum was well worth the visit!
Great to have you back on the road in the states. I've never been to Alabama so I'm looking forward to your adventures there and beyond. Always a great way to start the day when you drop a new video, breakfast and A&K. Love your enthusiasm.
So glad you're back on the road. Kona is so glad to be with the family again, you can just see it! Food looks delish as always.. When we were in Texas, we had to check out a Buckee's! Lots to see and eat! lol There was a place in Texas that we saw on Texas Country Reporter, that was a BBQ in an old gas station. Father had left the gas station to his son and he changed it into a BBQ joint. Really good BBQ! The museum looked awesome and so full of history! Hard to believe that a lot of that stuff went on while I was in high school and i was ignorant of it! Crazy! Can't wait to see more of your trip! Safe travels
Buc-Ee's is almost a destination in itself! 😂 Ya know in our travels we've found some pretty good restaurants in old gas stations! We're very happy to be traveling as a family again!
Thanks for the update! U guys deserve a break, so slow down & enjoy life❤ I always enjoy your videos & u inspire me to travel more! Thanks for sharing!
3rd generation Mi'sip'ian! My Dad jumped over the eagle on the state Capitol... 1. He ran track at State; 2. The eagle was on the sidewalk in the late '50s....renovation.....
Awesome! Van life FTW. I'm sure you have an itinerary, but if you'd like any suggestions when you're in our backyard, let us know. Also, better that you had a van problem now than later haha. We did this one trip where our fridge latch broke and we didn't heard all the crashing of liquid goodies breaking everywhere. No good!
Thanks! We won't be spending very much time in New York on this trip. We're focusing on the states we haven't visited yet. Thankfully our problems haven't been too much of an issue and mostly a quick fix! Fridge issues do not sound fun!
So excited to see you on the road again! We hope you love your new a/c as we have the same one in our van. Hot tip (lol) we pre cool the van by turning it on as we are driving in the afternoon so there is less power draw after we arrive at camp. Safe travels!
Great job on the video and welcome back to van life! Especially appreciated your visit and reflection on the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum. I lived in Alabama for a little while… hope you enjoy your visit!
I love that you went to the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum. I was there in December 2019 and I left with almost exactly the same feelings. I can't imagine a better civil rights museum. And you're going to a place I absolutely love: the Maritimes!! Between that and my trip to PNW, this is the summer when you go to my happy place and I go to yours. :) There should be some good note-comparing.
We were really impressed with that museum and are really glad we could share it! We're so pumped for the Maritimes! We think we've dons some pretty good research, but if you've got any epic spots you're willing to share, we're all ears! Can't wait to see what you get up to out there!
Oh my goodness! So glad you are back in the van and on the road. Can't wait to see exactly where you go in Alabama, as some northern parts of the state were old stomping grounds for me.
Good to see you back on the road again. Looks like it is going to be an interesting adventure and I can't wait to see more. Until next time... Travel safe.
Fingers crossed on the new breaker! Side note- have you heard of Big Blanket Co.? 10x10 blankets. Breathable and lightweight. I'm mentioning it because it looks Kona could use a new blanket. 😁
Shout out to that A + K shirt. I love mine! Its very comfortable and has superior quality! I actually packed mine on a trip to the Twin Falls, ID area, checking out the spots and waterfalls you guys recommended a couple years ago. Your style of travel is the best!!
You guys are awesome I recall seeing your Colorado video a few years back and it inspired my wife and I to take a similar trip that y’all had shown on the video and lone behold yall are from Texas just like us! Keep up the great content! 🍻
As a Houstonian, I must appreciate your Buc-Ee's action. Whenever we visit Austin, depending on our route, we stop at the Buc-Ees near Luling on I-10 (if we went to Black's BBQ in Lockhart), or the Buc-Ees in Bastrop or Giddings. Then we normally have to stop at any Buc-Ees entering Houston so I can, uh, get rid of the coffee, so to speak, that I bought at the previous Buc-Ees (such clean restrooms: Potty like a rock star!)
I love traveling with y’all!! Was watching a tour of Cinque Terre, Italy and met your “twins”!! DW Travel! I can close my eyes and I think I’m listening to you two!! It was great!! Enjoy y’all so much! I will never get to go to all the places you folks go to, but I can go thru your RUclips channels! “Pillowy”, he says that too!!😅
I love traveling with y’all!! “Pillowy”, he says that too!!😅 They travel in a van also!
Welcome to Alabama! I and my wife love to travel, and we get inspiration from your vlogs! I would recommend adding Cheaha State Park, De Soto Falls, Lake Nicol, and Lake Harris to your list. If you have time, you are invited to visit us for a cup of coffee at the beautiful UA campus in Tuscaloosa (the home of the crimson tide). Safe travels!
We’re long gone from Alabama now, but we visited several of those spots you mentioned and we were really impressed! Thank you for the offer and thanks for watching!
Your website and videos are such amazing resources! The quality of your videos and writing is truly top notch. Thank you for making this all available to fellow travelers! How was your Harvest Host experience? Did you interact with the host? Buy something? Pre-purchase something? We’re members but have only stayed at one and found that aspect of it (having to buy something) unclear and a little awkward so curious about your experiences.
Thank you, Joanna! Harvest Host is a great resource, but it can be hit or miss. Some places are really tuned in and provide a great experience while some are good, but more bare bones. There's been a couple times where we've reserved a spot and then shown up and the people working don't even know what Harvest Host is 😂 For this one, we didn't interact with anyone and just gave a donation. We stayed at a golf course in Vermont one time and I called to reserve and the man on the phone said "so you're telling me you want to sleep in my parking lot?" 😂 The expectation is that you buy or donate around $20. The easiest ones for us are farms because we can buy meat or produce and it's good stuff. Golf courses are great also. They are a good resource to have especially in the east where there is less public land to stay on for free. Hope that helps!
Safe travels guys! When you pass through Maine on the way to the Maritimes, you should check out the northern part of Maine. Thats potato country and it's so different from the rest of Maine. I think you'll love the Canadian Martimes. We do!!!
You’re going to love Newfoundland - one of the very favorite places I’ve been! If you’re up for it go kayaking in Trinity Bay. A minke whale surfaced less than 10 feet from my kayak when I was there. Trinity Eco Tours is a great company to go with. Wherever you go you’re going to love it.
When you get to Delaware, be sure to check out Cape Henlopen State Park - it's a beautiful place on the beach, with WW2 history. Some nice wildlife sanctuaries on the ocean as well. 🙂
Great to see you back on the US roads and doing videos about the van. I must confess I'm not that in to Asia, therefore I haven't watch many of your videos lately (this comes from a person that watches all your videos). But you can count me in again 😅😅 Keep up the good work. You produce quality videos with lot of great facts from the places you visit. Sunny regards from Sweden! 🇸🇪
If you go in the area of eastern Ohio one of the most awe inspiring places I never thought I'd encounter in the eastern areas of the U.S. is Hocking Hills. Highly recommend. And Shreveport has some of the worst roads I encountered in my 40k miles of truck driving last summer.
OMG!! Y’all were right by my grandparents house at Corney Lake and you drove through my hometown of Monroe, LA and you went to one of my favorite places in Shreveport- Marilyn’s!! So cool!!! 😃😁❤️ Glad y’all enjoyed your time at Corney. 😃
Y’all are coming to our neck of the woods!!🎉I can’t wait to see where y’all end up! We live in N AL and their are tons of waterfalls & great hiking areas too! Was that Natchez when y’all crossed the bridge into MS? That’s such a neat town!! We did the Jackson, Vicksburg, Natchez & Laurel loop back in Feb.; really pretty area. So many more rolling hills than I had expected. How fun to be back in the van w/ Kona again! Safe travels!!😊
I've only got 5 mins into the video but I saw IOWA on the state list! I'm from Iowa and loved growing up there. Des Moines is the hub of course, but the little small towns have such a cute charm. I'm from Glenwood if you spot it on the map! (SW corner near Council Bluffs)
RAGBRAI?!?!?! IF that's what you're hinting at, you're going to have the BEST time! Even if it's not ragbrai and just the extensive trail network it's amazing and so peaceful🫶🏼
What is your criteria for checking a state off your list? EVER been there…only in the van…take a hike there Etc. I’m trying to figure out my own criteria and looking for ideas. I mean, do you count it if you went there as a child? Thanks so much for your wonderful videos and travel blogs. They are so helpful!
Good question! For us to count it we have to go there together and actually do something there. Go for a hike, spend a few days, etc. It's not a hard set rule. Thank you and thanks for watching!
This isn't the first time you mentioned Buc-ees, is it? I thought I heard about it on your channel. They built one in our town a couple of years ago. We love it!
Vietnam was interesting, but I'm super glad you're back in the States. Good start to the trip, I could get full on southern food! Love museums, and learning so much from them. I'll check back next week, we bought a new truck/camper (2023 Ford F-150 FX4 and 2023 Keystone Cougar 22MLSWE) and are going to northern Arizona for a week. Travel safe! Pete in Arizona - KI7LIL
Safe travels. I'm looking forward to the New England states. Hopefully you drive the Kancamagus highway in New Hampshire. I've never been to the Maritimes, so that is going to be fun.
We’re having a blast filming our remaining New England states! We drove the Kanc back in the fall of ‘21 so we won’t be driving it on this trip. We’re very excited for the Maritimes!
One of the best things about your videos is that he eats like a man. Too many travel vloggers eat seeds and grass. People want to see people good food when traveling. Keeping chowing down, man.
Glad your back on the road ya'll! Van looks awesome.. Hey, so what video editing software do you use? Any recommendations on editing, learning curve, etc? Thanks, stay safe!
Hi! We use Adobe Premiere Pro. Our best recommendation is to just start making videos and use RUclips University to learn tips and tricks. It takes a bit to learn the program and get the hang of editing the videos, but if we can do it with no prior experience then anyone can! Thanks for watching and good luck!
As fellow, albeit shorter term and smaller van, travelers we’ve enjoyed watching your videos for ideas on sites along our routes. We’re guessing that Iowa is state #50. We plan to reach Iowa, also our state #50 in Mid August after #49, Minnesota earlier in the month. Any chance you can accelerate and give us a preview? 😅

Appreciate y’all going to the Civil Rights museum and highlighting. Very much needed education.

For a tiny knife, no oil, and your first meal back in the van, that meal looked delicious!! 🥰 I'm so lucky to have friends that cook so well 😉
Hopefully we can cook y'all a meal soon! We'll make sure to have oil though! 😂
Beautiful photography. The Civil Rights Museum in Selma was an amazing find for us. We spoke to someone who was arrested at the protest there. It forever changed us. Thank you for sharing.
Have to tell you guys.....I am in such a good mood today because you are back doing van life!!! I love every minute of it.....Thank YOU!!!
We very much miss international travel and are craving more, but we're glad to be back traveling as a family again

Welcome to Alabama. I love downtown Birmingham (near the stadium) so I know those places well.
Alabama is our home state and it has some hidden gems if you know where to look. We drove through TX last month visiting Waco and Guadalupe. Loved it.

On the road again! Excellent video guys! Hope you can find more harvest hosts and some public land on your adventure! The lake was gorgeous at sunset and sunrise!
Woohoo! There’s a good amount of Harvests Hosts, but the bummer about the east coast is the lack of public land. We found some good spots!
Great back on the road! What’s next after you visiting all 50 states? Here is my suggestion: ride a ferry east coast with your van to the Europe visiting each country one by one. That’ll be a lot of fun!

Wow, what a great video!!! Thank you for highlighting the Civil Rights Museum.
Good to see you back on the road again. Looks like it is going to be an interesting adventure and I can't wait to see more. Until next time... Travel safe.
We just left y’all’s part of the country. Now y’all headed to ours. Welcome!
This was great, thanks! And perfect timing. I'm planning a road trip, going east coast-> west coast. Jackson looks like a good stop.
I was born in Connecticut and raised in Massachusetts, so I can’t wait to see what you do up in my neck of the woods.
We're excited to share!
Your drone shots were fantastic!!! On the Road Again!!! Yea!!
Be safe and heed nature as that territory near Arkansas is full of predators, thank goodness for the cozy camper.
Jackson is my hometown. I never saw The Civil Rights Museum but, man, they did a great job putting that together!!!!!
Fingers crossed on the new breaker!

Buc-Ees is the best! No doubt about it!
You guys are amazing!!! Appreciate y’all marking such great videos❤️❤️
“Pillowy”, he says that too!!😅
Hey , that was so interesting guys 😁👌.. thanks for sharing 🙏. So happy to have found your channel, and so many back episodes to watch.😍
Hey Vicki! Thanks and thanks for watching!
Good to see you back on the road, exploring. I see you haven't been to Iowa, looking forward to your visit here. Safe travels!
Finally! We all missed you in your big van 🚐 traveling the USA 🇺🇸
I love traveling with y’all!!

Oh my goodness, if there is anything cuter than adult Kona, it's BABY KONA!! What a cutie!
Welcome back to the States! I watched all of your videos on the travels in Vietnam. You guys are living the best life!
Glad you like them! Thank you!
I'm so excited to see that you'll soon be visiting my home state of Delaware! Looking forward to seeing what adventures you find in The First State :)
Happy to see y’all back on the road again! Will be following!
We're excited to be traveling as a family again!
I'm happy to see you guys back on the road 🎉
Welcome to Alabama! I and my wife love to travel, and we get inspiration from your vlogs! I would recommend adding Cheaha State Park, De Soto Falls, Lake Nicol, and Lake Harris to your list. If you have time, you are invited to visit us for a cup of coffee at the beautiful UA campus in Tuscaloosa (the home of the crimson tide). Safe travels!
We’re long gone from Alabama now, but we visited several of those spots you mentioned and we were really impressed!
Thank you for the offer and thanks for watching!
I second Cheaha State park, one of my favorites! If you ever make it that way again.
Stay tuned for the next video :)
We stayed at a golf course in Vermont one time and I called to reserve and the man on the phone said "so you're telling me you want to sleep in my parking lot?" 😂
The expectation is that you buy or donate around $20.
We do!!!
When we were in Maine last time we loved everything about it! Maine is one of our favorite states! Potato country sounds fun! Thank you!
found your channel through your vietnam series but stayed because I love both of your vibes, keep up the great work and safe travels!
Thanks for coming back to the states ❤❤❤
Glad to see you both back on the road… looking forward to your adventure.
We’re happy to be traveling as a family again!
We can't wait! Thanks for the tip!
So good to see you both & Kona!
When you get to Delaware, be sure to check out Cape Henlopen State Park - it's a beautiful place on the beach, with WW2 history. Some nice wildlife sanctuaries on the ocean as well. 🙂
We camped at Cape Henlopen! It was great! Video coming soon!
Can’t wait to follow along!
Glad you guys are back been awhile.... Great video
Thanks for watching!
So glad y’all had a good time in our hometown!!!! And yay on the no walmart parking lot…
We try to avoid them as much as possible, but we're thankful they are an option in many places as an ok backup
If you go in the area of eastern Ohio one of the most awe inspiring places I never thought I'd encounter in the eastern areas of the U.S. is Hocking Hills. Highly recommend. And Shreveport has some of the worst roads I encountered in my 40k miles of truck driving last summer.
Hocking Hills has been on our list for awhile now! We won't be visiting Ohio on this trip as we're sticking to the states we haven't visited yet.
Always a so happy to see you guys😃
OMG!! Y’all were right by my grandparents house at Corney Lake and you drove through my hometown of Monroe, LA and you went to one of my favorite places in Shreveport- Marilyn’s!! So cool!!! 😃😁❤️
Glad y’all enjoyed your time at Corney. 😃
Marilynn's was awesome and Corney Lake is one of the best campsites we have had since hitting the road again!
Y’all!!! Where are we going?!?!? Lake Guntersville??? Wheeler??? Huntsville??? Muscle Shoals??? Give me something! I may have tips!!! Lol
Corney lake is pretty and usually isn’t crowded especially during the week.
We had a blast in N AL! Really impressed! We crossed in Vicksburg. That loop sounds really nice! We’re happy to be traveling as a family again!
I've only got 5 mins into the video but I saw IOWA on the state list! I'm from Iowa and loved growing up there. Des Moines is the hub of course, but the little small towns have such a cute charm. I'm from Glenwood if you spot it on the map! (SW corner near Council Bluffs)
Iowa will be our 50th state and we've got big plans for it! 🚲
RAGBRAI?!?!?! IF that's what you're hinting at, you're going to have the BEST time! Even if it's not ragbrai and just the extensive trail network it's amazing and so peaceful🫶🏼
OMG Baby Kona!!! So cute!!
We love it!
We may have stopped by for gas before, but we have never filmed inside. Many other channels have though!
Congrats on the new toys! Have fun!
Welcome to north Alabama! Hope you enjoyed it!
Welcome back!!! Would you guys ever consider having a meet and greet in Austin? I'd love to meet you both :)
Great, just did my 1st trip through Northern Alabama on our way to jimmy carter hometown of plains ga
Glad yall are getting to visit bama, There's not much here and I wish I could travel. It gets bland here
So Excited to see the last 7 states
We are too! We’ve knocked off a few already and it’s been so fun!
@@AdventuresofAplusK are you going to New York City with the van
No way! We parked it at the Newark airport parking lot and took the train in
Welcome to ALABAMA !!!!
Looks like your coming to MA! Hope you visit cape cod! Would be so cool to bump into you
Loving the journey.👍😊🇺🇲
Too bad you’re not going south. We lived on Dauphin Island in southern AL for a year and a half. It’s beautiful there.
It looks lovely!
Love your van adventures!!!
I live in my van and I feel exactly the same way about it as you do especially my bed House people just don't understand. LOL😅
Katherine that food looks BOMB girl! Burnt or not! It turned out good considering you didn't have all the things you needed. 👌🏽
Kathryn can throw down in the kitchen! I usually do most of the cooking, but when she gets a crack at it it is always delicious!
Great job!!!!
