Because Tana sits directly in front of the guest, facing them so it's much harder to look at the side. You can also see that she looks at Brooke and tries, but it's just easier to look at Tana when talking. Plus Tana is doing most of the talking and it's her podcast (it's on her RUclips channel and she is the fact of the podcast advertisement) they should place Brooke next to Tana to make it easier for guests.
@@aurora6920 I don’t know about you, but when I’m talking in a group setting set up similarly to the video, I make a point to make consistent eye contact with everyone. That’s proper conversation etiquette.. it’s not hard to turn your head back & forth to make it clear you’re talking to both parties. I do agree Brooke’s spot should be moved next to Tana, however that’s not an excuse for guests to be blatantly rude. It might be “easier” to just look at Tana but that’s a pretty lazy excuse

@@333-h7v Of course i look at everyone in the group, my point is during the interview you can clearly see JoJo looks at Brooke during each story she tells, even smiles or responds to her. She is not ignoring her like people are saying, yes she is mainly looking at Tana, but that's because she is sat directly opposite to her and Tana is the main speaker. When I read comments like this I just smile knowing Tana is such a good friend she probably sees comments like this and thinks yes more Brooke! When most people would just be jealous how everyone loves her but you can tell Tana is really truly happy that her fans and viewers absolutely adore her friend
I think Tana and Brooke should sit next to each other in these podcasts. It feels like the majority of the guests always are talking to only Tana, and ignoring Brooke.
I love Brooke so much. Her face when Jojo and Tana were talking you could just feel her uncomfortableness through the screen, it’s like being in a room with your best friend and her other friend. No need for jojo to be so dismissive of Brooke. She could’ve atleast looked at them both when talking.
I feel compelled to comment that JoJo isn’t as mature as she thinks she is. Financially mature, sure but there’s other aspects to maturity. She bases her maturity off of how long she’s been working. Also, when it comes to dance moms she doesn’t recognize the abuse like the other girls do because she was used to it. Her mom exploited her starting from age 9. Dance moms was a walk in the park for her. But that doesn’t minimize the other girls negative experience. Just because money came from it and success doesn’t mean she can’t also acknowledge the negatives from it as well 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
I honestly find it a touch bizarre. The thing with Jojo is so much of it is beneath the surface, because that surface is the financial stability. Like yeah, she's successful. There are things she knows how to navigate, etc. But emotionally? No. And whenever I watch videos like this, or clips from stuff where she's with other people, I just see the same kind of insecurities that kids have, and (most of the time) grow out of once they're graduated from college. All of this boasting, and showcasing of her wealth, it's the same as kids showing off at show and tell, both to the kids around them and the teacher, and this talk of maturity is really for the adults in her life. "Look at me, I'm just like you. I can do the same stuff." It's honestly sad, but at the same time…, it's getting to the point where she needs to actually wake up, and I don't really know if she wants to.
Agreed 10000% I didn’t like how she kept saying “I’ll never forget where I came from”-just goes to show she doesn’t fully understand the concept of that statement. Just bc you had a good life come out of that show doesn’t mean the other girls trauma isn’t valid. Like they’re not being ungrateful if they were truly hurt by being on the show. I am middle class. My daughter goes to a private school. We get no financial help, but i go without to make sure she has a good education. So yes, middle class people can send their children to private school, ours is around 9 or 10 grand a year. I'm not saying JoJo is wrong or right..just giving my 2 cents.
Maybe JoJo doesn’t know Brooke but is friends with Tana. It’s like a normal conversation in which you talk mostly with the person you’re friendly with. Brooke seems a bit frosty towards her.

I feel like as much as guests are accountable for ignoring Brooke, tana could do more to recognise that’s happening and help bring brooke into the convo and show the guest that that’s what’s acceptable on the podcast. Like saying, yeah what do you think Brooke?
I agree wholeheartedly. Jojo being dismissive the whole episode is horrible, but Tana should be able to recognize Jojo blatantly interrupting Brooke as they are cohosts. Now, if Brooke before recording this told Tana that she wasn't feeling up to fully participating, that would provide more context as to why she was more quiet, but if Tana realizes that she is being addressed more than Brooke, she should take initiative to bring Brooke into the conversation. Them sitting closer to one another could also help the eye contact too I think.
Tana and jojo are both self absorbed narcissists. You can tell tana enjoys when all the attention is on her and not Brooke because she would clock it otherwise. Brooke seems more down to earth and nicer in general so not surprised she gets trampled over

this episode is such a tough watch, you can tell how uncomfortable brooke is by being basically ignored the entire episode & i feel bad for her. it’s the worst feeling to be pushed to the background of your own space/show. aside from all the obvious reasons jojo shouldn’t have been on this show, it sounds almost identical to the other podcasts she’s been on in the last few weeks. same topics, same “oh i’m an adult now” conversations, and i get she’s on to tell her story but? converse normally for a minute? it just feels so much like she’s on a PR run trying to gain a new audience but i think its going to backfire on her more than anything.
I mean, I can sympathize but I don't think people need to keep victimizing Brooke. Every time they have a guest on, Brooke retreats to the background herself. She is co-HOSTs with Tana so act like it. Tana would never let a guest take over her, bc she has the confidence of "its my show." Brooke deep down feels like she's in Tana's shadow, and she has admitted that, so her actions show that. On top of that, she watches the guest when they talk, but every time she speaks up, she looks at Tana. So the guest is gonna get that same vibe like, ok we direct what we say to Tana. It's like she is just used to commentating as a viewer, or is just used to being friends with Tana and acting like how you would comment to your friend while watching a movie or something. When she needs to be connecting with the guest as the host. Its not the guests' responsibility. The same way you make your guests comfortable in your home.

I grew up priding myself in being “mature for my age” and now at 26 I know why I felt that way. This whole interview made me sad. I feel bad for her. No dollar amount is worth giving up your childhood. If she feels positively about it then I’m happy for her but as a mom that broke my heart.

There is not a trace of normalcy in JoJo's behavior right now. How many predators and abusers are we going to excuse Jojo for defending? She's defended Abby Lee Miller, Colleen, James Charles and Shane Dawson and there's someone else I feel like I'm forgetting. Brooke absolutely did not deserve to get thrown under the bus like that.

To play devils advocate she’s seated opposite to Tana so it would take a super forced effort to stare equally in both directions while you’re talking and Tana was the one asking most of the questions. Tana should have Brooke sat next to her and have given her the room to ask her questions.

Well jojo did say there was a therapist there for them on the show and would ask the kids daily if they were ok and they if they wanted out she would make that happen. Also my daughter now 42 yrs old danced from 4-14 yrs old and she would tell me that her teacher while the girls were in the splits , would sit on their backs to get them to be closer to the ground. My daughter had also told me the amount of times she was yelled at or belittled. So how abby behaves isn't new and we live in Canada. Lol

Really getting to know Brooke. Love her input on everything! She drags stories out of Tana, she’ll ask more questions about a story and she brings up events tana forgets about that she was there too.
Haven’t got to the Colleen part but there is something unlikeable about Jojo for me. It feels like she really enjoys talking about herself. I understand she is on the podcast to do that but there’s so little real interaction with Tana or Brooke/any interest in them. She just wants to tell all her stories/speaks over them/doesn’t listen to what they say.
She was like that on dance moms as kid. Even the other girls would tease her about talking about herself too much. It’s her personality but it definitely doesn’t give her an excuse. She is problematic even as a kid on the show. It definitely explains how she is today.
I see more and more that she never matured as a child. Especially in the way she interacts with adults/her relationships, she comes out as self-absorbed and emotionally stunted. I can't help but feel bad for her with that whole "my childhood was worth it for the money and fame" speech when it's pretty clear she never got to develop as a person and no matter how mature and humble she tells herself she is I don't believe she has any adult concept of what those words actually mean.

She seems to say things that she thinks are the adult/mature responses, but ppl respond back to her as a child by being like 'ohh wow thats so amazing'. If she was an actual adult, she would (hopefully) get a lot more reality checks. I mean I can't imagine someone telling me that not having a childhood was worth it for the money and me not responding very concerned to that. Y’all gotta realize…..Jojo was one of those “friends” with Colleen when she was 12 YEARS OLD. She young…..she probably doesn’t realize how WRONG that is.
See that's the thing. People are like "She's 20 she's a grown adult" and I mean...yes and no. Legally yes. But mentally? You can't look at Jojo, someone who's been groomed by the likes of Colleen, Shane, etc. since she was 12, and seriously tell me that she has a full adult mental capacity after nearly a decade of emotional and mental ab*se. I love Brooke so much. Her face when Jojo and Tana were talking you could just feel her uncomfortableness through the screen, it’s like being in a room with your best friend and her other friend. No need for jojo to be so dismissive of Brooke. She could’ve atleast looked at them both when talking.

I feel compelled to comment that JoJo isn’t as mature as she thinks she is. Financially mature, sure but there’s other aspects to maturity. She bases her maturity off of how long she’s been working.
Also, when it comes to dance moms she doesn’t recognize the abuse like the other girls do because she was used to it. Her mom exploited her starting from age 9. Dance moms was a walk in the park for her. But that doesn’t minimize the other girls negative experience. Just because money came from it and success doesn’t mean she can’t also acknowledge the negatives from it as well 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
I honestly find it a touch bizarre. The thing with Jojo is so much of it is beneath the surface, because that surface is the financial stability. Like yeah, she's successful. There are things she knows how to navigate, etc. But emotionally? No. And whenever I watch videos like this, or clips from stuff where she's with other people, I just see the same kind of insecurities that kids have, and (most of the time) grow out of once they're graduated from college. All of this boasting, and showcasing of her wealth, it's the same as kids showing off at show and tell, both to the kids around them and the teacher, and this talk of maturity is really for the adults in her life. "Look at me, I'm just like you. I can do the same stuff."
It's honestly sad, but at the same time…, it's getting to the point where she needs to actually wake up, and I don't really know if she wants to.

I agree wholeheartedly. Jojo being dismissive the whole episode is horrible, but Tana should be able to recognize Jojo blatantly interrupting Brooke as they are cohosts. Now, if Brooke before recording this told Tana that she wasn't feeling up to fully participating, that would provide more context as to why she was more quiet, but if Tana realizes that she is being addressed more than Brooke, she should take initiative to bring Brooke into the conversation. Them sitting closer to one another could also help the eye contact too I think.
Tana and jojo are both self absorbed narcissists. You can tell tana enjoys when all the attention is on her and not Brooke because she would clock it otherwise. Brooke seems more down to earth and nicer in general so not surprised she gets trampled over

this episode is such a tough watch, you can tell how uncomfortable brooke is by being basically ignored the entire episode & i feel bad for her. it’s the worst feeling to be pushed to the background of your own space/show. aside from all the obvious reasons jojo shouldn’t have been on this show, it sounds almost identical to the other podcasts she’s been on in the last few weeks. same topics, same “oh i’m an adult now” conversations, and i get she’s on to tell her story but? converse normally for a minute? it just feels so much like she’s on a PR run trying to gain a new audience but i think its going to backfire on her more than anything.

I mean, I can sympathize but I don't think people need to keep victimizing Brooke. Every time they have a guest on, Brooke retreats to the background herself. She is co-HOSTs with Tana so act like it. Tana would never let a guest take over her, bc she has the confidence of "its my show." Brooke deep down feels like she's in Tana's shadow, and she has admitted that, so her actions show that.
On top of that, she watches the guest when they talk, but every time she speaks up, she looks at Tana. So the guest is gonna get that same vibe like, ok we direct what we say to Tana. It's like she is just used to commentating as a viewer, or is just used to being friends with Tana and acting like how you would comment to your friend while watching a movie or something. When she needs to be connecting with the guest as the host. Its not the guests' responsibility. The same way you make your guests comfortable in your home.

I grew up priding myself in being “mature for my age” and now at 26 I know why I felt that way. This whole interview made me sad. I feel bad for her. No dollar amount is worth giving up your childhood. If she feels positively about it then I’m happy for her but as a mom that broke my heart.

Haven’t got to the Colleen part but there is something unlikeable about Jojo for me. It feels like she really enjoys talking about herself. I understand she is on the podcast to do that but there’s so little real interaction with Tana or Brooke/any interest in them. She just wants to tell all her stories/speaks over them/doesn’t listen to what they say.
She was like that on dance moms as kid. Even the other girls would tease her about talking about herself too much. It’s her personality but it definitely doesn’t give her an excuse. She is problematic even as a kid on the show. It definitely explains how she is today.
It’s not shocking someone who has their face on her cars and toilet is pretty self absorbed.
I see more and more that she never matured as a child. Especially in the way she interacts with adults/her relationships, she comes out as self-absorbed and emotionally stunted. I can't help but feel bad for her with that whole "my childhood was worth it for the money and fame" speech when it's pretty clear she never got to develop as a person and no matter how mature and humble she tells herself she is I don't believe she has any adult concept of what those words actually mean.

She seems to say things that she thinks are the adult/mature responses, but ppl respond back to her as a child by being like 'ohh wow thats so amazing'. If she was an actual adult, she would (hopefully) get a lot more reality checks. I mean I can't imagine someone telling me that not having a childhood was worth it for the money and me not responding very concerned to that. No. At a certain point, we have to hold Jojo accountable for her actions. Because it’s not just defending a predator, it’s defending MULTIPLE predators (Shane and James too) so adamantly and showing them off to her young audience of CHILDREN... yes, Jojo is a victim of Colleen, but that doesn’t excuse her actions.

I agree. Based off of what she said, her mom also seemed to slightly and comfortably groom her into thoughts of being sxually attracted to females at a fairly young age. It makes me wonder if she knew it would make a major longterm headliner and would keep her from getting pregnant early, which if she did, it would potentially end her career- as her Dad cheered with relief about avoiding. Kind of gives me Spears family vibes but well thought out - knowing enough about them to know what “not to do” so they could continue to capitalize without backlash. We’ll see where this all leads.

See that's the thing. People are like "She's 20 she's a grown adult" and I mean...yes and no. Legally yes. But mentally? You can't look at Jojo, someone who's been groomed by the likes of Colleen, Shane, etc. since she was 12, and seriously tell me that she has a full adult mental capacity after nearly a decade of emotional and mental ab*se. Give her 3-5 years and she'll realize what she's gone through and how it's conditioned her to perpetuate/excuse harm. If she never realizes, well, then it's just a tragic story all-around.
