Wow, such a simple tip (keep braking to 60-80%) has made a huge difference. Thank you!
I couldn't figure out why I sucked so hard at Forza 7 and these videos have improved my racing by like 1000%. They might be old but insanely helpful.
Thanks for this video. I have been playing since since January. Level 276 and have just switched to no ABS. Only used the braking line for the first couple of weeks, then turned it off. Seeing someone as skilled as you use it inspired me to turn it back on to help learn how to brake with no ABS. First couple of tracks and it has helped a bunch. Thanks.
Great video!
+Turn10Studios I saw that ;). It's like rewinding but different.
+Raceboy77 Great video because sometimes when I'm racing in lobbies, people will hit me from behind or knock me off the track.
Turn10Studios will you invest in us the community instead of graphic?
Holy moly, the official Forza account?!
Down shifting in manual. I know how to drive a manual so I will try. Ironically in real life I drive faster with manual than I do an automatic. Just got lazy when I play on video games. It's a beautiful thing in a real car to accelerate around a corner then shift to the next gear smoothly.
Trail braking is ideal for controlling the pitch of the car and making it more balanced through the corners, but its easier said than done.
+JSR Devon Yes, when trail braking is done effectively it sets the nose of the car into the corner. You can see me doing this a little bit in the video :).
+JSR Devon hi, what's trail braking?
staj its when you ease off the brakes when you reach the end of the braking zone. Braking throws the weight of the car to the nose, which in turn makes the rear wheels light and easy to spin up. Trail braking balances the car so you won't have that problem. I have a video on it, if you want to check it out.
Thanks ***** what's the link to the video
+staj It's this video.
This guy is a legend
This video is SO helpful! I also watched one of your tuning vids and it really helped. Instantly noticed a difference when I applied the knowledge to the track! Thanks again!
Damn son you are fast
Joppe Vanwetswinkel thanks!
Nice video RB! That answers all my questions i asked on your stream some weeks ago :)
I'm stunned.
I've been racing since FM2, and I've always applied the brakes progressively, which is what my dad taught me (he was a rally and auto-cross driver) for driving 'spiritedly' in real life. For Forza, I also use a combination of left-foot braking and the accelerator to control weight distribution/keep the car settled and maximize grip + speed. But, watching your telemetry, you don't do that either...makes me question what I've been doing all these years. I've followed you (and occasionally use your tunes) for as long as I can remember, but I've never noticed your braking to 70% before. I'm here slapping myself in the head for thinking I knew what I was doing for so long and missing something so obvious/apparent.
Question: How do you know how much to slow down since it doesn't appear you're using your engine sound or the brake line to determine? Is it just experience, because I've got to relearn all my brake points now to adjust for this braking method. With progressive braking, it was easy to practice a few laps and see where the brake line bordered on yellow and red and then just listen for wheel squeal to see if the line was lying (no squeal = go faster next time).
If you mean how many %x you should brake then you should always go to 70% i learnt another thing you could apply a little more its like 78% but its risky
As for when to have almost a perfect braking point it can be almost every apex that begins before a corner (an actual one)
You probably know this since i dont know how much your father has taught you sooo yeah practice practice practice to challenge
ups I've been doing it wrong for the last 4 forzas, i,I'll give this a try although i don't think it's gonna be easy since holding the trigger at 50-80% it's kinda tricky but i can do it with the throttle so i guess it just takes some practice, thanks for the tips.
Nice vid mate!! Your tunes are sublime...
He gave us just the tip.

Awesome video, just got the game so I'm definitely going to have to try this out. Going to get some skills before I join your open lobbies ;)
Great video. :-)
Just got the thrust master TM and I ran across this video and let me tell you what you are a boss just want to ask have you ever been behind a PlayStation Xbox or PC racing wheel some people say they like the controller better some people say they like the wheel better I'm honestly like in this wheel and with your tips i'm becoming a beast or at least I'm getting there LOL I give this video a⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I'm a tuner so I run no assist but i Lower my brake pressure change my diff lock and tire pressure to maximize every car. I drive going 100% on the brakes when I need to brake
Cheers RaceBoy
You drive like a beast
Thanks man!
while cornering do i need to let go acclerate?
Awesome Vid bro
first comment? holy shit never had this happen xD keep up the great videos bro.
It seemed to help me in my tunes to turn up the brake pressure to 115% and then I just go about 60% If guess when braking. I use clutch etc but haven't tried rev matching in this game. Easy in real life but it may be tricky here. Assuming you have them set on the bottom two buttons, X and O (I think)?
THANKS SOO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!! I SUBSCRIBED!
Thanks mate appreciate that 👍
+Daniel De Felice No problem :).
What kind of car is that? I’m trying with a Nissan GT-R but it’s still making me slide out of the the track does it just take a lot of practice? Or is it the car?
I feel like the biggest thing is learning the tracks
Loving the tips series. Can you put one together for changing your gearing ratios?
+Eric Pruitt I don't think I'll ever do that because I have maybe 3-4 cars which have racing transmissions minus race cars. Sorry!
Great video. I will wait acceleration tips now :p
What about setting braking pressure in tuning setup to 70% and push ur trigger all the way down
i'd say thats pretty lazy and imo the more control you have of your car, the more realistic and the better it will be to play and also i think u can utilize 100% braking sometimes
more race tips plsssss
Emergency brake or Handbrake?
Nice video. I use your tunes a lot and have sub'd :)
+Gaming Beaver Thanks!
what about your tuning setup for your brake pressure, what would you recommend?
can you give me a easy set up for BMW rll 74 for brands hatch circuit looking to improve ranking thanks
Your good thanks this help alot
Hi RaceBoy thanks so much for the video tips its so helpfull, how to get the brake and throttle level on your sreen with forza 7 ? thanks
Check the HUD settings in the options/settings menu I believe. It should be there
I was told to try your tunes and the first thing I noticed was that you had braking pressure at way too high, which made the braking constantly lock up and made everything more difficult because I only had 0-45% braking pressure range to work with before the tires would lock up. Why this high pressure? Normally when I tune my cars, I set the pressure to around 75-82% depending on the braking score... lower means better.
You drive with abs. It likes lower pressure. Without abs likes higher pressure
What car is that?
How do you brake in a slight long turn then sudden hard 90degree turn. I tend to lose my rear.
Kromesta I would probably lift then brake straight as much as possible then hard turn into the corner from the very far side of the track.
I always skid off the track
try braking earlier and not leaving it so late
Have you got a tune for any of your Evo's? They look quick as hell!!
+Daniel De Felice As seen in the description, tinyurl.com/RBsFM6Tunes :).
cheers bra this helps
Question. I also use the controller. What deadzone setup are you running for your decel? All my experience with Forza is from Forza4. I never had problems with locking-up. I straight-line brake with rev match and I find that the biggest quirk I have with Forza6 is the damn sensitive brakes! Ive been able to get around the problem by setting my deadzone decel to 40-100 and running about 75-80% brake pressure with a usual 45/55 front/rear bias.
Any advice more advice on not locking up?
+badfisssh41 controller layout: Deadzones: tinyurl.com/RBsFMDeadzones - Buttons: tinyurl.com/fm5buttons tunes on my cars are at 145% brake pressure. The only advice needed to not locking up is in the video, there's nothing else unfortunately.
I know this might be personal preference but what brake percentage (tuning) do you find to be the best for the quickest braking? I find myself locking up a lot if I go over 100%
+Phillip Phipps 145 pressure is my preference but that's exactly what it is, all preference. As long as you're comfortable with what you're running, that's all that matters.
When braking do we downshift before or during?
+DTOWNBOSS41 If you downshift before braking, you'll be losing speed. Downshift as you're slowing down and make sure you're in the proper gear before you enter the corner for optimal corner and exit speed.
Convinced me. Time to practice without ABS.
When I brake (Manual w clutch, abs off), and I rematch, MY CARS GEARBOX SEEMS TO WEAR out because I'm using simulation mode. Do you have any tips? I don't want to just ruin my car just by that.
I've never had that issue, you're timing something wrong I'd assume.
+Raceboy77 I think it's because I'm in simulation. But I'll try a different strategy. Also, for clutchless shifting, it doesn't seem to work. I've been watching quite some NASCAR this week, and I've noticed they have a straight cut teeth gearbox, allowing clutchless shifting, as long as you keep the revs even, but my NASCAR just won't be able to shift clutchlessly. Any idea, money an? This was actually a useful video and I subscribed. Looking forward for some new videos.
With simulation it should not damage your car. If you're running manual with clutch, you have to use the clutch in every shift regardless of car. That's why you're damaging your gearbox on downshifts.
+Raceboy77 yeah I know why. I'm not using clutch at all. Thanks.
Vertizoid lol
much boost
do you play with a steering wheel setup or controller?
+Josh L Controller.
+Raceboy77 that's some smooth turning there with a controller. any tips?
Not really, just exactly that, be smooth. Lots of practice :).
+Raceboy77 been doing it for years lol. but definitely keep them videos coming
How do you know WHEN to brake? I don't play with the lines on and my biggest problem is not knowing when to brake. I find I sometimes rely on my position on the minimap which I know is not good. I always brake either too late or too early and when playing online this is very frustrating because I either go off the track or get rear ended or passed easily. I haven't found any information on this so if anyone has any tips I'd appreciate it!
JJM you’ll have to make markers on every corner for yourself. Shadows, wall points, markings, those kinds of things.
Thanks for the advice! I think I'll practice with the braking line on as well just to get a better idea.
Real drivers use environmental cues to know when to brake. These are usually distance markers on the trackside but can be things like changes in tarmac colour, the position of a fence, when the curb starts, a certain tree. Stuff like that
58 lbs of boost making 435 HP is hilarious
👍
How do I prevent spinning out when braking on turns
brandon robinson brake in a straight line then balance your throttle if there's too much lift off oversteer.
The only thing I could think about whilst watching this is that you keep the accelerator held down whole you're changing gears. Poor car and it sounds awful :(
so lets take advice from some who cant drive shift on a game ... accelerate release accelerator clutch change gear accelerate... can that be so hard... try try again
Fortunately, on Forza, shifting without lifting has been the fastest way to do it since clutch has existed in the game.
So no ABS?
+Sander Peeters I run no ABS personally. You can brake this same way with ABS on but I prefer not to.
use 0 assits it's the only way to play this game,my brakes r at 134 with 52% to the front, brakes r more important than speed at times, use the brake to point ur nose where u want the car to go and let off, ease in the throttle and then slam it,ur corner exit should be fast and that's highly important in road courses,i have a lancer 8 only 315 hp in a class and I don't finish out of the top 5,cuz I can break late and lightly on gas thru apex and slam it,cornering speed is sic
Anyone can play however they want, it's down to preference as far as assists are concerned. I pick cars depending on tracks, that Evo 8 won't survive around something like Daytona but it'll be great around a track like Laguna, it all depends :).
Haha o God no Daytona it would get ate up on easily, but around lime rock, seca, tracks with lots of cornering, its stout,
+Raceboy77 how do use make car choices based on the track e.g. high top speed cars for tracks with straights, and high handling cars for tracks with many corners, or are there any other factors to consider? Thanks
No wheel you use a controller I can do better with a wheel myself just wondering why you don't use a wheel
Michael Nastasi I prefer using a controller on Forza, just always have.
Please stop holding the gas when pushing clutch to shift, it grinds gears m8
lift off when you change gear. Fucking annoying
ruclips.net/video/dl6JAqpK_h4/видео.html :)
No disrespect your upshifts are terrible...
Fortunately, on Forza, shifting without lifting has been the fastest way to do it since clutch has existed in the game.
@raceboy77 thanks a lot for a Great video. Can you please do a video or an article on braking at different types of corners as there are some that seem to require "pausing brakes". your note says "I use 53% balance and 145% braking pressure on almost all of my cars". Can you please give some advise on how to determine what the right balance and braking pressure should be for different cars? Thanks a lot Sir. thanks to people like you, Loving Forza 6 so much, its unreal !!!!
+staj Responded in xbox :).
+Raceboy77 Thanks a lot Sir!! Keep up the Great Work!!!
Thanks!
