Grai needs to be added to this list. They're not only of the best russian bands but one of the best Folk Metal bands out there, that's for sure. Apraxia is a good band too, Rus Probudis is one of the best slavic folk songs I've heard.

Here's some of my favorites: Radigost, Arkona, Pagan Reign and Nomansland(viking metal)
Arkona and Nevid are the best
I'm glad that there is a good variety of styles. I personally don't like the gruff screaming style of vocals, but the other bands here sound amazing!

yes, that's Arkona. listen their songs "Kolyada" and "Vozrozhdenie" and you'll know that Arkona IS METAL BAND.

The russian folk metal seen looks prity vibrant cirtainly better than the german (mainly glorified power metal) and the english seen which is non-exsistant. Strong folk roots :)
