Great save on eliminating that "extra" seam. I love it when an existing block is improved through evolution of time and experience. Just that one adjustment brought the appearance up to another level....great job😊
You do such wonderful work! You explain your mistakes, fix them and continue on. I am one of your many admirers and I like the way you approach quilting.
This table runner is so beautiful! Your clear and calm instructions on how to make it gives me such confidence that I can make one, too! Thank you so much, Beth!
💖 I love this block and table runner! It's a lovely pattern. Replacing the 4 patches was a definite win! I made a few mistakes this week as well. My seam ripper got a workout, for sure. It's good to know I'm not alone. I love that you were humble enough to incorporate your mistake into a part of your creative process to share with us! You are a great teacher! Thank you for sharing!❤
This is a lovely block. I will have to watch it a few times to make sure I get the proper measurements wrote down but want to say thank you for being real with this, so many of us go through the same thing. It shows us it is ok to make mistakes and learn from them. I really love this and how pretty it will look in my Christmas prints. Thank you so very much. I appreciate you and your time. God Bless and Merry Christmas
We all DO make mistakes!! Appreciated you sharing it with us. Now to copy down your measurements and see if I can't make up a couple to give as gifts. 🙂
One of the old ladies my mother quilted with always said to make a sample block of a new block before cutting all your fabric for the quilt. She sure wasn't wrong, and this block is a prime example of it.
I agree Ms. Beth that the appearance of the block is smoother without the green center seam of the rectangle. If it were a scrappy block made with different greens it would be a good for a seam in the center. Your work is always gorgeous to look at!.🙏
I enjoyed this episode. I am an old hand at mistake making. It’s nice to see how others handle their mistakes. I like that quilt block. I will have to try that one. Thank you, John
Sewing is sometimes an adventure. Last week I watched another quilter's RUclips demo of a block. I decided to give it a try, and finally, on the third block, I got it right. 😂 I revised the first 2 blocks, added another 2 blocks, and it is my less than perfect table topper. I love scrappy experiments. 😊
At first i didnt see what the problem was but when you started fixing it, i saw right away that your new patches were definitely better! Thanks for bringing us along on your mistake journey!
Lovely table runner Beth. I liked it better when you change the seams. What a difference it made. Glad you found your error before too long. So frustrating isn't it. Regards ❤
I don't see it as a mistake I see it as a chance to improve upon something and do a differently! 👍 It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it. If you learn something from it it's a lesson.
So beautiful💕. Thank you for sharing how you cut your strips the wrong size and had to make adjustments. You're so REAL and I love watching your videos because of it! Looking forward to your next video🥰. (Thought of you when I decorated my Christmas tree with an angel and miniature tree ornaments I made after watching your videos☺️)
One of my early quilts was a triple Irish chain. I had made a huge mistake. So I cut a square on-point out of the very middle where the mistake was and somehow figured out how to insert a panel I had made using a basket pattern from one of Ellie Sienkiewicz's Baltimore Album books. It actually came out great. After the dust settled, I realized I hadn't made a mistake after all! I had been very careful cutting out the square, and I got another nice medallion quilt out of that. Bob Ross would have called it a Happy Accident 🙂
I love you show your mistakes. As a new quilter I make loads of mistakes but find following quilting you tube videos like yours, helps prevent me making too many. Love the block and your videos. How did you set your sewing machine in that lovely large table. Love it xxx
Hello, just my kind of block, I love the Irish Chain pattern. I just would like to make a comment on the sashing between the blocks, how about a little green square in the middle to connect the blocks in a way? Wish you a Merry Christmas too, greetings from Norway.
I love this block! I’m new to machine piecing (used to do only hand piecing ) and you have been a great help to me. I’ve already made 3 of your blocks for my quilt current quilt. Could you tell me the finished size of this block as so far the blocks I’ve made are 10 1/2 “ ie. 10” when sewn into the quilt? Sorry if you said in the video, I missed i! 💜
I'm a new sewer so there's lots for me to learn and I do enjoy watching your carefree sewing attitude and most of your blocks. I've made a couple, and while I'm not ready to share some of my pieces, (too embarrassed and shy just yet) I saw this block and thought I'd give it a try. Sadly, as my grandson says "the math ain't mathin" ...at least it isn't for me. LOL I have NO idea what I'm doing wrong but your white block says cut to 3.5" but you say in the tutorial it's 3" ??... but I can't seem to get either size to match up for me?? HELP!!! LOL
It's nice to know how to repair your mistakes, thanks..
Great save on eliminating that "extra" seam. I love it when an existing block is improved through evolution of time and experience. Just that one adjustment brought the appearance up to another level....great job😊
Yes, Beth we have all had to do some recutting and unsewing. The results were definitely worth it!
Agree - the difference might have been the choice of fabrics used. If you wanted a scrappy block rather than a three fabric block. Hmmm🤔
They are NO mistakes. Only learning opportunities 😊
You do such wonderful work! You explain your mistakes, fix them and continue on. I am one of your many admirers and I like the way you approach quilting.
I appreciate that. Thank you 😊
Loved how you fearlessly demo away to correct "mistakes".
Always enjoy seeing what you make.
This table runner is so beautiful! Your clear and calm instructions on how to make it gives me such confidence that I can make one, too! Thank you so much, Beth!
Thank you! I’m so glad you enjoyed it.
You are right about that seam. Interesting how just a little change can make a big difference. Thanks for sharing this. Have a blessed week.
I love the way you "cleaned it up". Always love your videos.
Thanks so much!
Practice doesn't make "perfect", it makes progress. Well done, Beth!

Love how you explain the process and all the adjustments- thank you Beth!
You are a perfectionist. Only a quilter would have noticed the difference. But, pride in what you create is more than worth the effort. Kudos!
Another great project Beth can't wait to see how you quilt it. Desley🇦🇺
Pretty table runner Beth . Will be a beautiful gift.♥️🇦🇺
Very festive ❤💚 thanks so much for a wonderful time as always 😊
Lovely as always. Sharing how we fix or change things is helpful to many. Thanks for all you do!
Lovely block and materials Beth Thank you for sharing with us x
Great engineering, once again, Beth ... more quilt blocks will be made because you noodle through so many blocks for us!

November 25 to December 15. after that, we slowly approach correct direction and appropriate speed.
I agree with your decision to replace the 4-patch blocks in your first block. Those 3 blocks make a great table runner.
I agree Ms. Beth that the appearance of the block is smoother without the green center seam of the rectangle. If it were a scrappy block made with different greens it would be a good for a seam in the center. Your work is always gorgeous to look at!.🙏
We all make mistakes! It turned out lovely and what a wonderful gift to receive! Looking forward to seeing how you finish it.
I enjoyed this episode. I am an old hand at mistake making. It’s nice to see how others handle their mistakes.
I like that quilt block. I will have to try that one.
Thank you,
John
I like the way you changed the blocks much better too!
I appreciate it that you eliminate the extra seam. It looks much, much better. Thanks for another great video.
Turned out so beautiful! Good on you for recognizing what you think is not pleasing and correcting it.

Thanks for showing both ways - I do like the new method a little better. Love this project.
Great adjustment to the piecing. Your friend will love this table runner.
You triumphed once again. Thank you for sharing your talents
You did a great job coming up with alternate plan. I look at blocks sometimes and think of a different way to piece it, also. This block is a keeper.
Looks much nicer without the seam, what a fun block!
We all have those days that we goof up. What a wonderful gift for your friend.
This is a very pretty table runner. Yes. I have messed up while cutting many times. Thank you for the free pattern and video.
At first i didnt see what the problem was but when you started fixing it, i saw right away that your new patches were definitely better! Thanks for bringing us along on your mistake journey!
Great teaching moment!! Again you shine as the gifted teacher that you are with that the change in the side pieces. Thanks for sharing this project!
Such a pretty block with an easy fix, and adding the washing and boarder makes a lovely runner!! Thanks for sharing. You are the best, Beth!🩷
Thank you for sharing love how you simplified the construction
Love this block Beth....either way, but the second way is more eye pleasing for sure.
Always a learning process...

Beautiful blocks in the end.

I love how you turned it into a positive!
I just part of this block come up and knew at once it was yours
Saw part of the block come up
Like the second way best
Haha at least I am in good company when I mess up now!! Frustrating! Good for you that you redid the blocks you didn’t like!!

3 1/2” squares are used for constructing the half square triangles
@@bethshibleyquilts Thanks....I might give it another go before totally. giving up. So the strips are cut at 1 1/2 " each. and sewn together, correct?
