good tutoriel ,i think if you can do a tutoriel about priority in materials in archicad its a really probleme since archicad 18 ,when we drew a wall then attached an other we found that they are not attached its look like separate wall in the corner
@@admglobalservicesltd3561 Roof quantities aren't easy, but a general process is to note the surface area of the inclined roof. The inclined roof is a true surface area as compared to the plan surface area. Once you have this quantity you are on your way. Then you'll need the surface area of the roofing unit, say this is 16in X 38in this equals 608 Square Inch or 4.20 SqFT or 0.39 Sq M. Using a roof of 185 SqM you need 185/0.39 = 476 pieces of roofing sheet. Think you're done, not yet. You also have to add more sheets if the roof has valleys and hips, these areas of the roof produce waste. So my experience show that for a simple hip and valley and 10% if the roof is large and complex add 20%. Hope this was helpful.
Is a Brazilian company who do the object! Very good!

You would think archicad could have an option to add tiles to roof, it would also make sections and details look better.
Good tutorial. But next time please remember to add a download link to your description. Remember, a tutorial without a link is a "show-off"
tnx

why you dont create a schedule for roof and calculate the area ?
i thought the same...if you have the schedule tool, why do this way. good point
Exactly right I did a schedule and I got in the Hips Valleys and Ridges. Plus the surface quantity of the roof, much quicker too.
More light on this pls
