VidiaPlays maybe they took it out for that reason (Burr and Eliza never conversing before that point so it was odd for them to have a catching up convo). It’s also likely to save time because the version that was kept gets to the point.
VidiaPlays I wish they’d kept it in. It’s easy to work out from context, but I was a little confused when Burr said in “The World Was Wide Enough” about not letting his daughter become an orphan. With this exchange, it’s a bit more obvious that Theodosia Sr has already died
@Liv-gy6jw Burr was at their wedding and Hamilton runs into him all of the time it would make sense that they have interacted also back then they were definitely invited to Burrs Wedding so she wouldve met Theodosia through that it wouldn't be odd for them to talk like this at all it's completely explainable, I don't know why an amazing song like this was cut and that great conversation, but it was not for a good reason I'm genuinely upset
Some great lines from Eliza were cut here - both the "I gotta stop a homicide" and "how are the Theodosias?" would've been a hit with the audience, I bet

It wouldve been great to hear Christopher Jackson sing this with Philipa Soo having them have a duet wouldve made sense and wouldve had Eliza and Philip interact with Burr wouldve made sense. Also this song has a great verse from Hamilton it shows no matter how much he betrayed her and mistreated her he did truly care about his family. And wouldve made her forgiving him make more sense this song was so important and the fact that it was replaced by a forgotten scene really hurts
okay I'm kinda confused, Burr says "my wive has fallen ill" talking about Theodosia Sr. But wasn't she already married to an British Officer? Actually that is something that has been confusing me for a while. If Her and Burr haven't been married that would make Theodosia Jr a Bastard, but Burr talks about her pretty openly in the musical. Theodosia's first husband passed away 1781, then she married Burr the year after and Theodosia Jr was born 1783. So Burr and Theodosia started their relationship when she was married, but then later got married. So Theodosia Jr is not a bastard :)
