      just a question, why are you selling the sketchpack using a service in the US? It means that for those of us in Australia it costs a lot more. I would love to get the sketchpack, but I can't justify spending $190 AUD.

It's clear you tried, it's clear you have talent as an artist, and you still didn't end up with something you liked or found good. But you posted the video anyway, and I think that speaks volumes to your values. So thanks for the video, and the laughs (that ending's editing was perfect), and keep exploring and having fun.

  • @davidbandler

    Sand art videos are cleverly edited; the purple drawing on the glass is the image, but the brushes/tools inside are painting thin PVA glue layers, which allow the colored sands poured via the funnels into the exact spot desired (and to stay there) on the interior surfaces. This is what Jazza has missed. Sand art has always been 1 part trick.

      if you overfill the bottle with sand (usually just a base or "sky" colour, or whatever you have if it's gonna be covered by the cap) and then force the lid on very firmly the sand should stay packed in place. resin also can heat up a great deal, I'm not sure how safe it'd be in glass, but I have no first hand knowledge of it, so i'm hardly an authority.

    If you want to make a good piece of sand art, you need to use a container that is narrow and wide with an open top. That will allow you to more easily place the sand where you want and move it into place. You also really should focus on making a single sided picture. Instead of watching short tictok videos on it, you should watch tutorials so you can actually learn how they do it and the reasons they do it that way.

    Jazza thank you for always inspiring me. Whenever I'm doing art i like to put you in the background and your creativity, even when we're doing completely different mediums, makes me feel inspired and expand what I usually do and around a week ago I brought your digital brushes to try because from what i've seen in your videos theyre amazing

    I love watching Jazza try new mediums, especially ones so far out of his normal wheel house, makes me feel encouraged to try new things too.
    I'd love to see him try origami, traditional or modular, sometime in the future though!

    Its genuinely refreshing watching a Professional Artist like Jazza struggle and fail on a project. It makes it easier to connect with him and understand that art, in any form, is not easy. All those wonderful pieces you see that is usually followed by a quote like, "I could draw something like that myself" genuinely took time and talent to create.
    I know you were lookin to make an entertaining video, but good on you for showing you achievements and failures too :)

    I reckon that was a pretty good attempt. I remember my mum getting into sand art briefly in the 70s. Sunset scenes with birds flying in the distance was her speciality, I vaguely recall.
    Wow, that really unearthed a memory I have not thought of for decades. Nice one, Jazz.

    Tip: using more of a granulated almost powder like substance like in the beginner ones u get at target or Walmart they are a lot easier to blend bc they are less rock and I would recommend ones like that.

    You should probably up the "resolution" of the sand container as well to make things look sharper and clearer

    • @chrystalteal4171
      @chrystalteal4171 Год назад +1

      The sand he is working with is too course. You need a much thinner, finer, and more powdery sand than what he is using. It looks like he has just run of the mill sands from Michael's that are used for cheap projects and not actual sand art. (The sand from craft stores is meant for pictures that have an adhesive front or for those sand art necklaces you buy in bulk from oriental trading company.) He needs high end sand vs. this "Rose Art" brand. So yeah, like you said, he needs to ditch the pixels for higher resolution!

    Jazza, dont get too down, you did pretty well. And honestly this seems like it would be easier with a larger bottle. The small grains that are mistakes would be less noticeable. You should definitely try it again
