- i went to BLADESHOW and while i was there looking at miles and miles of knives and gear i saw this sharpening puck.. i have been looking for one to use in my woodscraft to keep axes /kukri sharp. The price i paid at the show was $20 bucks but thus far i am happy with it. in the video i will show how i sharpen my kukri using a puck and a tree for support.
thanks for watching

Using a round stone (puck) to sharpen a kukri - now that’s information I need. Thank you. I can use it for axes, machetes and for kukries.
Good video and tips Blackie , thanks for sharing , God bless !
Thanks 👍
Hey Blackie! I like this! Thanks! With my old puck, you could sharpen your knife and trim your fingernails at the same time! Woohoo!
lep it will grind a hang nail down real quick
Went to basic and MP school at Ft. McClellan by Anniston. Beautiful area though I was a tad busy to enjoy it. I have never had a puck but have had success with a large double-sided harbor freight stone. Now you have given me the idea of using it with my machetes and kukris points in a tree. good info sir. thank you
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for the video. I’m going to be contacting the company to see about ordering one of those pucks. -Tennessee Smoky
You bet
Always great information! Thank you!

Nice video and really good to see another USA companys product. Never thought about the stress joint on on kukuri though. Love what you do for us and THANKS.
Thanks for watching!
First time I seen one like that Blackie 🐼
yeah lawyer season is in full swing luckily rattlers are tasty!! i think that notch started out for blood but inadvertently served as a flex point!
i agree
Hi Blackie, nice puck. That's a nice new option, I like that it has several different grits you can get and that rubber center, nice! I have a Lansky puck that I use on my axes. 👍
Right on
Hi Blackie! Thanks for the tip on the puck but also the pointers about sharpening the kukri.
You bet!
The puck style stone is excellent with hatchets and bush/ forest axes as well...
yes they are
thank you blackie this is a really great stone thank you for sharing
You are very welcome
Love this! I'm gonna pick one up. I've always used a Lansky puck but I think I am going to get one of these
Go for it!
Thank you for sharing this information!
Glad it was helpful!
You must know a few Gurkha's
Ole Blackie Thomas ,but some Kukris you can stab with although you probably wouldn't ever need one for that reason as a outdoorsman 🐼😎🐼
Could you do a new video of your favorite kukris and where to get them maybe. Like a reboot
i am thinking on doing that in not too far future
I have used a puck for years with my machetes axes and hatchets
they are great for those
Nice design on that pick to keep fingers out of the way! NNTR
Yes indeed!
Good video. God bless. From Glenn CATT in Massachusetts.
thanks
Blackie , Great Video and Outstanding Information. Thanks for sharing about the Pucket , I've got two of them one is from Marble's and the other is very old came to me by my uncle. I appreciate you all ways thinking and sharing. The Germany Tree Brand Boker Barlow, what color was the handle on it or does color matter. You Are The Master Woodsman and Buschcrafter. Tim L.
i like the brown look handles on that
@@BLACKIETHOMAS I will need to look at it, may have found one.
Great video Blackie I just purchased one from Frost River for my axis hatchets And my kukuri
Nice 👍
Say Blackie can you explain the circular motion with the puck?
yes it allows a better edge as the stone goes up and then down the blade as you roll along you do not apply a lot of pressure just let the stone do the job..and as you go at first it will feel resistant but once you have gone over a section and came back over it it will feel smooth as you roll over it
@@BLACKIETHOMAS thank you sir, I appreciate you sharing your knowledge with us. Looks like some folks might need to utilize those ways of the past soon. It's not too late to start practicing problem solving skills yet, so I pay attention and listen up. I am constantly evolving my IH Scout for off the path living, so your truck tips are a great help also.
you should lubricate your puck with spit or water. I don't suggest oil though.
spit usually
if a big job is planned like a michette i will get a small container of water handy to dip into
Dang blackie you ain’t far from me then I’m 45 minutes north of atlanta
well if i go back to bladeshow next yr i will try and let everyone know
@@BLACKIETHOMAS I wanted to go but it slipped my mind
