I’ve heard this song so many times on my Pandora playlist, and I was cleaning my house after driving 4 hours back to my apartment for business and it hit my like a brick fucking wall. I’m just 27 and good lord do I miss my relationship that ended with my 6.5 year high school sweat heart through all the wonderful ups, and terrible downs through college & life. So many of my memories, dreams, and thoughts are simply about who I was then, despite the life I live now where I’m blessed with colleagues who are absolutely incredible, I’m very well paid, sufficient, taking care of my family, and am overall viewed as joyful, humorous, and delighted person by those who know me, but I feel like an imposter. My dreams don’t go in this direction, they always point towards her. I’ve moved on with my regrets to not look back in the past so I can cherish the present, but my dreams go backwards in times. If you love someone ladies and gents, move mountains for them and don’t let other’s voices get in your way. Chances are the negative people won’t be there after high school/college anyway.
