I loved those handful of books that were released back then, even still have G-returns and some of the other shorter books that were written by a different author. That would be amazing if they ever got that released since it seems like such a waste considering it's probably complete
Thanks for solving this mystery. I loved these books when they were published and always wondered why the fifth book was never released. And what a stupid reason, too.
To be fair, the first 12 (or 20, I can’t remember) minutes of Godzilla vs the Legendary Wolfman was leaked fairly recently; so maybe there’s some hope…? (Not condoning illegal means)
Even though this sounds bad, I think fanfiction or a fan continuation of the book is the only real way to go if we are just never going to get this book released. I'm pretty sure that there are some websites where you can just release these kinds of projects for the whole internet to read and not get in trouble for it. Probably on some kind of wiki page or forum post. Or you can just do it as a fan audio read and release it on RUclips similar to the NES Godzilla Creepypasta. That isn't taken down. It's under fair use or non-profit fan creation. People do fan fic videos all the time on anything so I don't think this is entirely impossible. No legal action or demonetization will be taken as long as it's not objectively trying to harm someone.
I don’t have a problem with someone making fan fiction about this particular work (or even with fan fiction in general). In the video, I was just laughing at the sss9 guy for insisting that a “rewrite” of the book wouldn’t be fan fiction when it’s very much fan fiction.
@@FirewoodMediaTV yeah because he's not the author. Simple. It's like saying you're going to be doing a Star Wars fan film in the style of George Lucas but it's still a fan film at the end of the day because neither George Lucas or Lucasfilm was involved during the making of that fan project.
Since Godzilla is starting to hit sooo many of the numbers and such now, why not Toho capitalize it by releasing the book? Wouldn't be that bad than some fans BRIBING the original writer under Toho's noses now, would it?

I have those signed by the author and the cover art artist
So Bob Egelton (I most definitely missed spelled that.)

Didn’t know Dustin was a Godzilla Fan.

I've never read any godzilla books, but the plot seems cool and I also like lost media stuff. I'd support it if toho released it.
Not only Togo but Random House too.
It's mostly out of Random House's hands since Toho owns the IP to Godzilla
