I am so excited to see what you guys have made :D Thanks for watching subfuries.
Let me know down below: which is your *favourite ancient civilisation* and why? I'm afraid I'll have to be extremely boring and say Rome. I've been playing the Elder Scrolls too long to not love a good imperial society. That said, I do have a soft spot for the old Celts. What do you think would have happened in this timeline, and would you like to see more alt. history videos?

Hello Future Me I like Egypt but definitely like to learn about rome
Hello Future Me hey its fine elder scrolls may be the best game but ur opinion matters so its not boring its fascinating
Hello Future Me I say Greeks there pretty cool
Hello Future Me I love Ancient China and Japan! :)

I can only imagine how powerful Monk Gyatso was to kill all the comet enhanced firebenders.
Amazing
Prob sucked all the air from everyone b4 he went out. He was in the center too. Surrounded by died ampied firebenders. He deff went out badass
He killed like 50 enhanced soldiers when one was enough to deal with all the benders in the play fields and maybe a dozen in the main temple, he was a Air BENDER a master full and complete, a guy who even avatar Roku respected
Soldiers aren't really strong to compare look at the final episode when toph easily beat fire nation soldiers during sozin comet.
@@inamdaryasin Duh, its toph
Inamdar Yasin toph is also the best earth bender in the world so it would make sense that she could do that
What if Iroh became firelord like he was originally supposed to, instead of Ozai?
Since his son died, he might have ended the war. Unless Ozai decided to poison him too
He would have economically taken over the world with tea.
Kyle Chin I’m with Iroh
Zuko would be 2x hotter without his scar if iroh was the fire lord
Don't assume he will be as nice or gentle when that happens. He may not be as powerful as Ozai (Look at how fast Ozai makes lightning BEFORE the comet arrived during the eclipse) but he's definitely more equipped in strategic or tactical advantage. Throughout the series, we were told that Ba Sing Se was the most impenetrable city the fire nation can't conquer. Yet, Iroh managed to _almost_ do it. If not for his son dying, he would've conquered it and exponentially sped the fire nation's domination all over the world. The only reason he's so nice in the series is because he wants to rebel against the nature of firebenders at the time. Their lust for power got his son killed and so he doesn't want to be like that anymore. That's what he wanted to teach Zuko too. Just take things slow and not live for the sake of honor.
If his son survived, who knows how he would've acted.
I feel like Iroh and Gyatso would have been best buds.
They would because I remember a episode where iroh said that airbenders have a great sense of humor
Mohamed M. The episode where he was trying to reach Zuko lightning bending
Ah, yes, I imagine them drinking tea and eating/throwing cakes, talking wisdom in riddles while zuko screams "WHAT ARE YOU TWO EVEN TALKING ABOUT"
they probably would

Aang: “I don’t want to kill”
Gyatzo: Haha, air go yeet.

Lmao
More like “I don’t want to kill unless it’s offscreen”. Remember during the Final Fight, when he threw those rocks at Ozai’s Ship. A good chunk of the crew members had to of died during that crash.
Aang: Violence isnt the answer.
Kioshi: You are right its the question and the answer is yes.
I bet Aang would’ve been fine with his earth bending he could’ve trained with a younger Bumi
Hahahahahahahahahhaha
Thing is that the older Bumi was way way way more experienced with earth-bending. knowing this, I believe that young toph would definitely win a fight against old Bumi. Young bumi would be waaaay less experienced than old bumi and even then, old bumi would lose to young toph.
With this logic, I think that this alternate timeline aang wouldn't even be able to TOUCH main-timeline aang where he was thought by toph.
Bumi was a long time personal friend of aang and would likely have had a much easier time figuring out how to properly train someone as passive as aang in earthbending. Bumi had a much more spiritual view on earthbending, as compared to toph, which jives really well with aang's own philosophy. I feel if Aang was given time to study earthbending philosophy in a way catered to him by Bumi, he'd have a much easier time picking it up, but probably wouldn't happen as quickly. Bumi had aang seek out toph because he knew he was too old to teach, and would not have the time to give aang the lessons his way.
@@mrzsanaghazan well its also of who trained Bumi? Aang could have trained alongside bumi instead of him being the trainer.
If gyatso and aang moved to the earth kingdom, then there would be a high chance that they went to omashu since it was one of the major city's. And aang being there probably wouldn't have changed bumi that much. So bumi could've learned this ability probably quicker because he now got a bender friend. And if aang got an earth bending teacher then he would've told bumi what he learned, and bumi would experiment more with Earth bending. Which means that aang would have been able to bend like bumi, and bumi was able to Earth bend with just his mind and would've taught that to aang.
We don't know how old bumi was when he started bending or training but aang would have felt a lot of guilt because of the genocide, which probably lead to him deciding that he needed to master all four elements quicker so that never happens again. Which led to bumi training earlier.
Now the reason that they would move to omashu was probably because aang wanted to learn all four elements and gyatso disagreed because he needed to be a child and not an avatar. But because aang was stubborn he would've pushed for it and gyatso would have agreed. Now gyatso wanted aang to be a child but aang said no gyatso would've still tried to make aang happy. And since aang probably talked about his time in omashu and how happy he was with his friend bumi, gyatso would want to move there, for aang.
Now because bumi knew how to earth bend with his mind and taught that too aang, aang (or gyatso) would have probably figured out that you can do this with the other elements as well. Which means that aang was able to water bend with his mind. Air and fire would've been more complected since you can just make that. Aang would probably discover irohs signature move which is breathing fire out of his nose and mouth. And since gyatso probably knew the air bending technique where you suck out all the air of the room (or somebody) he would've taught aang that outta self defense.
He would've also probably trained with a dragon to learn fire.
And he would be able to master the avatar state fully.
So if aang could ever get captured then he would be able to escape easily. And he may not have had seismic sense or be able to redirect lighting, but he probably would've been able to defeat the fire lord easier. And anyone who would've went against him.
And I think that aang would've been better and stronger than kyoshi because of this.
I like the idea of Aang and Gyatso being able to be together.
Would've made for a very heartwarming series with plenty of badassery!
Yeah their relationship is so pure and wholesome 😪

The only problem I have with these timelines is that iroh would never be born
exactly
Oh that is true. It would change up the entire Fire nations royal family
NOOOOOOO
IROH
WHYYYYY
But he would have never created as much distruction. Iron was the driving force of most of the distruction of the southern water tribe. And the loss of his own family. It is this time where the civilians of the fire nation are putting all of their money into the he war and would have deviated a lot of the economy. Hence the little amount of war ships in the first 2 books. They had the ability to send all of their warships but didn't because of the economic cost of doing so.
@@shannonhensley2942 people so easily forget that Iroh was war General, masterfull tactician and a mass murder
I think one element was missing in this analysis. I believe it is very likly that Gyatso was part of the white lotus. We know that entligthend masters of their paths, from every element and even these without elements, were part of the white lotus. And basically every character that we have seen that played Pai Sho was part of it. It is not certain as Gyatso never used the white lotus tile in the short flashback, the way he hinted that he wanted to teach Aang more in the ways of Pai Sho gives the impression that he would want to teach him more about the ideals and morals that are the core of the white lotus (not to mention that the white lotus itself is basically an embodyment of the ideals of the Avatar).
So, if this theory is true, than it would have a major influence on the timeline of a Gyatso and Aang escape. Both would have found shelter by using the white lotus and as it is a group that expands beyond nations and elements, it would be an ideal source to give Aang a master for each element, in addition to maybe even expend his fighting style beyond the boundaries of bending.
Just imagine an Avatar that was teached by the finest of each element, just to than add the training of a non-bending martial arts master who is able to stand against benders on equal footing.
Since Gyatso and Aang were there, also for the fact that the Dark Horse comic said that there a few Air Nomad Survivor, the White Lotus, Monk Gyatso and Aang will probaly save this Air Nomad Survivor from falling to the Fire Nation trap as their first priority then the Fire Nation colony in the Earth Kingdom and finaly war with the Fire Nation.
Also in the original timeline, according to Fire Sage Shyu, the Fire Sage decided to serve the Fire Lord because they were persecuted by the Fire Lord and the Avatar never came even though they have waited for a long time to keep the balance of the world.
so if we follow your analysis and timelline than aside from the important role that the White Lotus will played in keeping the four nation especially the Air Nomad, Fire Nation and The Earth Kingdom since they are the only affected party, the Air Nomad lead by Monk Gyatso will probaly changed the Air Nomad believe and value similar to the Air Nation by allowing aggression as the last resort for protection purpose, the Fire Sage will keep their loyalty to the Avatar and maybe they will probaly fight alongside the White Lotus, the Bhanti Tribe and the Sun Warior.
It was also revealed on the the Dark Horse comic that the Fire Lord was supposed to became the leader of the Fire Sage and the Fire Sage was actually the spiritual Coucil of Elder who governt and lead the Fire Nation as spiritual nation similar to Air Nomad before one of the Fire Lord split and became the monarch of Fire Nation slowly changing it from the spiritual people to became the military driving nationalism, so it safe to said that after the fall of Sozin or Azulon the Fire Sage with the help of Bhanti Tribe (and maybe also the Sun Warior Civilisation) will lead the Fire Nation and keep the order in the Fire Nation Land in the even of chaos and the fall of government, also no doubt there gonna be opposition toward them.
The next role of the White Lotus and Avatar Aang (or next Avatar) will became important to help the Fire Nation with the repairation that Earth Kingdom will most likely demand, ease the oppossition in the Fire Nation and rebuilt it, calming the Earth Kingdom anger toward Fire Nation, forming good relationship and keeping it between the 4 nation especially between Earth Kingdom and Fire Nation.
Sorry for a long comment.

Dude! That’s awesome! That’s an amazing idea!
I’d love to see the Avatar that was most powerful without their Avatar State, which only means they’d be more god-like in the Avatar State than anyone.
Then, maybe there’s also the possibility that that since Aang would be trained by the White Lotus, he’d be able to use his staff as a better weapon, and maybe even be able to Chi-Block as well.
Paku, Pian Dow and Bumi (he’d be really young) wouldn’t really be around to help him, and so by the time our Team Avatar all came about, I doubt they’d ever meet each other.
Would be epic to see a god-like Aang, but sad to see the gang split up forever.
@@thalmoragent9344 I don't think there's any correlation between non-Avatar State power and Avatar State power. The Avatar State is merely the knowledge and power of all previous Avatars. The power is in controlling it. Aang wasn't any more powerful in the Avatar State in the beginning of S1 as he was at the end of it even though he learned a lot of waterbending in that time.
Now the Avatar after this beefed up version of Aang would have been one mean motherfucker.
GermanAf
I thought it at least magnified your base powers by at least a considerable amount as well, tho you could also be right.
But I mean, power output from the Avatar with and then without the Avatar State is pretty different tho, is it not? At least a bit? You’re still right in the control tho, it’s more focused once you’ve mastered it. Because with your logic, as long as you were an extremely powerful Avatar, then the avatar state wouldn’t ever have to be used by you to accomplish more dramatic feats, which is why I believe that it has a power output that multiples that of the users power at least by a decently large bit, no?
@@thalmoragent9344 Well I imagine like so:
When Aang goes into the Avatar state he clearly has mastery of elements he has not yet learned, that means he channels the power of the previous avatars. It's also shown that his normal bending gets hella more powerful in the state. So it might be that all the power the previous avatars had gets added together plus his own and that's his final power output in the avatar state. His own powers remain the same, so if he has some crazy non-bending fighting technique it wouldn't be more powerful in the avatar state.
Or an example from the show perhaps:
Aang is the first avatar to "master" seismic sense, he used it against Ozai (outside the avatar state). His seismic sense wouldn't have been more accurate or more powerful INSIDE the avatar state as no previous avatar has mastered this technique.
I think... straight up no idea though :D
Guys, one of the most serious effects of these timelines..... Metalbending and Bloodbending would never be created by Toph or Hama, both were created because of the war and Aang's original journey!!!!!
I feel like it wouldn’t)t be that hard to discover metalbending it’s actually pretty simple tbh.
Blood bending is irrelevant
BlueVortex01 not in korra it wasn’t . Plus it’s cool and powerful af
Hama would have either found no one to learn blood bending or found someone to learn it and abuse it even worse than in Korra.
I definitely feel like it would have been created, just by someone else and for different circumstances. There are plenty of people who are vile enough to try and bloodbend. Just take yakone from the legend of korra. He might have discovered blood bending and he also is able to do it without the full moon so therefore it would have been even more of a threat. And also metal bending is just finding the earth thats refined in the metal made, I’m sure someone would have figured it out
Toph would have become Melon-Lord, would have faced off against Ozai.
The only reason the show didn't go with this is because no-one wants a 23 second long finale...

I have a theory...
Guru patik said he got a message saying that aang would need help and would be coming to the eastern air temple, which we know was where aang was going to train to master all four elements 100 years ago.
GURU PATIK WAS THERE FOR 100 YEARS!!!
But how old was guru patik when he was teaching aang about the avatar state in the main-timeline?
@@mrzsanaghazan He was actually around 150 so I think it's possible that Guru Pathik was there 100 years ago, waiting for Aang.
@@mhmbet7842 Oh damn, so guru patik was there for him. Nice.
Well that would be an interesting development
That would mean aang could go avatar state on his own and with the full power of avatar state it is highly unlikely that there would be any war
@@mrzsanaghazan pretty fucking old by the looks of it.
Don't forget that without Aang Toph would probably never have learned metalbending and Sokka wouldn't have got that super sweet space sword (despite losing it anyway)
Didn't he get it back? I'm sure I saw the official art of him with the space sword
The official art might have been from when he did have it
I imagine Toph helped Sokka find his special space sword after the battle.
In official art released around the time of "Avatar: The Legend of Korra", Aang's Team Avatar was drawn in adult form (between the age of the series and Korra's flashbacks). In this artwork, Sokka is shown with the sword, which apparently means he managed to retrieve it.
And Katara wouldn't have left the village and got the water bending scroll or a teacher.
A few ideas for another alternate history.
1) What if Aang had died for real at the end of Book 2.
2) What if Zuko was never banished.
3) What if Toph chose to save Appa while the library was sinking.
4) What if Aang was never found in the iceburg.
5) What if Iroh never lost his son.
And for shits and giggles:
What if Aang's lie at the end of The Great Divide wasn't a lie.
1) If Aang died, then the fire nation will win and be the rulers for generations to come. The avatar line gets stopped if the current one dies in the avatar state.
2) Zuko would have probably be like Azula in attitude, if not, quite less of an asshole but still...
The only thing that humbled him is his separation from Iroh after all they've been through. If not for that, he would still be the Zuko we knew from the beginning.
But then again, he was just such a hot-head is because he wants to restore his honor. Maybe he would have been a nicer firelord; but under Ozai's supervision? I don't think so...
3) She would have lost both. She wasn't used to sand bending at the time and can't "see" clearly.
She would have failed saving Appa but Aang would most likely use the avatar state to get to safety.
4) I guess he would still be stuck there. The avatar would continue to be presumed dead until his iceburg gets discovered. The firenation would still win if he doesn't get found sooner than when Katara and Sokka did. (He barely won against Ozai without the help of the avatar state due to lack of training)
5)Iroh would have conquered Ba Sing Se. Who knows how sooner the fire nation could conquer the world with the help of the Earth Kingdom.
The only reason Iroh became laidback is because of the lost of his son.
If the lie was true then great lmao XD It's a story that helped the two groups get along regardless
@@obseed3041 well done
@@obseed3041 but aang couldve destroyed fire lord, he was holding back because of his beliefs. Plus the comet not only wouldve helped the fire lord but aangs fire power too
@@adolfocepeda6633 Adolfo Cepeda I'm assuming you're talking about no. 4.
The only move that Aang ever got close to killing off Ozai for good without Avatar State is when he successfully redirected lightning. He could've redirected it right back at Ozai and poof the end. Ozai never expected he could do that since Lightning redirection was only taught to the royal family of the fire nation (Later localized by Zuko when he became fire lord in Korra's time)
And yes I do agree that he could easily kill Ozai with that BUT my point in no. 4 is that he already had too little time to enhance his bendings. The question for that is what if he was never found.
My argument is that he would still be stuck there and if he somehow gets out then he would have even smaller time for practicing the other three elements. Who knows if he would still meet the mentors he had, his teachers at bending were considerably good at the original and it still wasn't enough.
Yes he was held back by his beliefs but to say that he could've destroyed Ozai without them is farfetched lmao. You can clearly see he was using all of his cards against a boosted firelord on their last fight but he can't win.
Yes the comet could boost Aang's firebending too but the comet doesn't boost skills. Ozai could conjure lightning with just a glimpse of the sun after the eclipse. He got the skills [and literally boosted firepower] to finish Aang if not for the latter's hesitation to redirect the lightning back or the avatar state.
While I was watching at 4:02 the lumin commercial comes on so it says.
Gyatso goes to aangs room and says." Nothing is sexier than a man who takes care of himself." The timing couldn't have been more perfect.
I got an ad and time by NF started playing it was so funny
Made my day 😂
The ultimate wisdom
I got "Gyatso goes to Aang's room and says... 'Your skincare routine... SUCKS.'" XD
I wasn't looking at my screen and an ad with really loud music started playing so I got really confused as to why Gyatso would start blaring music.
Can you do "What if Zuko killed Ozai" when he redirected the lightning to his father?
Then Zuko and Aang wouldn't be best friends. Their friendship is already tenuous at times given their statuses.
Feel like what if Zuko killed his dad instead of letting his face be scarred would be more dramatic.
I think this was somewhat discussed by Iroh in the last few episodes when Zuko asks him to help take on the fire lord. it would have either just continued or the fire nation itself would likely have broken apart.
There are two options that i think would occur.
1. Either the Fire nation would descend into civil war with the killing being viewed as a coup and the military of the Fire nation splitting up and supporting either Zuko or Azula.
2. The much more likely route would be that Azula would become fire lord. She had the political prowess and backing of the fire nation military at the time, where as Zuko was the "Banished Prince" for most of his life and was only recently welcomed back into the fold. I don't think it would have been difficult for Azula to sell Zuko as a traitor and turn the military against him. Plus she already had the support of the Dia Li and even had them as body guards during the eclipse so they would have already been well placed to help her take over. I think Zuko would have been captured/killed before he had even had a chance to gain any support what-so-ever. And from what we saw of Azula towards the end of the series she would likely have been a more brutal and deranged leader than Ozai.
Iroh new this better than most. He knew and if someone other than the Avatar defeated Ozai it would have been viewed as a Coup and the fire nation would likely have either broken down into civil war, or some other fire lord would have taken over and continued the war as is.
Wes Stacey Which is why the Avatar is important as an impartial mediator. Someone with little to no connection to the majority of people is good for diplomacy and not killing people. Which probably why Season Two of Legend of Korra went so bad or her.
Zuko couldn't have beaten Ozai there. The first scenario makes sense because it could have happened if Zuko had decided differently. But even if Zuko would have fought his father, he would have lost and probably been scarred anyway, so it's a bit pointless to theorize.
"What if Aang doesn't run away?"
Aang gets killed during the Air Nomad Genocide.
The next Avatar is a Water Bender (Hama, maybe?) who successfully ends the war about 70 years early, but then dies around 87 AG.
The next Avatar is born to an Earth Kingdom family, but tragically shortly after birth the child become extremely sick and loses the ability to see. Despite this, and despite her parents attempting to keep her sheltered and hidden from her duties to the world, Avatar Toph becomes the Greatest Avatar Who Ever Lived, and you've all got to deal with it.
I refuse to accept any alternate timeline.
Devin Samuel no the cycle ends, the cycle needs all of the elements if one is wiped out the cycle cant move on the writers even said it
@@staggeringbeauty9635 Toph is more powerful than the writers
I would like to think that If Aang didn't run away, even if he is killed, the Air Nomads could survive. Even if its only a few of them. At least enough to repopulate for another Air Avatar.
@@staggeringbeauty9635 unless Aang was killed in the Avatar state the cycle doesn't end
Bernard Deocampo but you need all 4 elements to populate the avatar if there are no airbenders than the avatar cycle would end especially since you can’t have an air nomad avatar if all the air nomads are dead
No one ever talks about Aang's Avatar State powers. He not only put himself in a cryogenic state, but also did the same to Appa. That's more awesome than taking away bending, because he basically created a one-way time machine. Now that would be a cool topic....Avatar powers.
The downside of that was he shortened his life.
@@skullraven7723 ??? There was no shortening of his life, infact Korra seemed to have been born a year or less after he died. And even if there was shortening, we're talking advancing 100 vs losing 20ish years off of natural death...? I still have no idea what you could be referring to.
I'm not sure that could be counted as an Avatar Power, it's really just freezing yourself and your massive air mount, while submerged by water. A huge feat but not one beyond a great water bender that can freeze large amounts of water. Done in the south pole no less, so no effort into making it last, It possibly could have lasted much longer if "My bother and I" Never disturbed it.
It sucks your thread got hijacked by a fool, but yes... avatar abilities are beyond. .. the next one after Kora will be an earth bender, and metal bending is going places
peyton the fact that he’s in the avatar state doesn’t make it an Avatar Power. All he did was make a big ball of ice. Are you saying that a water bender can’t do that? We’ve seen water benders make big-ass waves before.
Making a ice ball big enough to contain a 12 year old and an elephant sized animal shouldn’t be too hard for a skilled water bender.
A better example for an avatar power would be the moon spirit avatar he made.
What if Azula had a good relationship with her mom.
These are the real questions
This could either go with Azula becoming a proper person and the most powerful ally Aang could have. Or the mom would accept to be evil and Zuko may never become Aang's ally.

guess 66 kuzon himself could have taught him/ learned with him as Katara did or led him to someone who knew how to fire bend
Bumi could have taught him earthbending, too.
This begs the question of whether or not Kuzon would have chosen Aang over the Fire Nation. As Tim said, Fire Nation citizens were very patriotic, and Kuzon was just a boy when the war started. He would have had no way of knowing Aang was the Avatar (and probably never did. oh wow I just realized that). And if he did oppose the war, what would have happened? Would he have just kept quiet and stayed home? Would he have run away? How would he have found out Aang was the Avatar? He certainly would have known about the Air Nomad genocide, and likely would have believed his friend Aang had been killed by his people. Would that have been enough to convince him to oppose the war? And depending on how vocal he was in his opposition, would the Fire Nation have tolerated it? Would he have been imprisoned or even executed?
I've heard a fun idea that Yue was supposed to be the water avatar. It would make sense that she needed a spirt boost to survive if she was suppose to have the avatar spirt.
A female avatar in the heavly sexist northern water tribe society would shake their beliefs. They would have to decide if they were going to ban her from fighting and thus her destiny or break tradition and teach to a girl.
They would probably have to. As shown when Aang's first firebending master refuesed Roku spooked him good to change his mind. Something similar would probably happen in that situation.
I like that theory
That theory makes no sense though. The Avatar can only be born when the former one dies. Aand was alive. He was even still in the Avatar state. There's no way his replacement was being born. It makes no sense

They would be the same age
He could even teach him how to bend edible crystals out of Earth. Food is important if you are a runaway nomad in a war, you know.
Buğra Kaan and Kuzon would have taught him fire bending assuming Kuzon was a fire bender.

If Aang used the avatar state during the genocide, and was captured, the Fire Nation would have seen little point in dealing with the rest of the airbenders.
Captured? the whole point of the air nomad genocide was to make the avatar trigger the avatar state and then killing him thus ending the cycle of avatars.
DarkSukiyaki only we the audience know that at the beginning of the series. So I’m did not know that
That's a fair point
They also wanted to wipe out ANY threat to their new empire, the Avatar simply being the biggest among them but not the only threat. That meant almost all non-fire benders. That's what they did in the Southern Water Tribe, its what they did in the Earth colonies (and, under Ozai, attempted to do to the entire remnant of the Earth Kingdom), it's probably what they would've done with the Northern Water Tribe if that invasion succeeded (as well as Zhou's motive to destroy the moon), and I'm pretty sure that's also part of the reason for the Air Nomad genocide. The only people that seemed to be spared by the Fire Nation were non-benders, because they were (supposedly) not a threat. Yet, as far as we know, the AIr Nomads didn't have a non-bender population. So every man, woman, and child was a target.
@@darksukiyaki1917 That can't be true. He has been a captive to firebenders multiple times throughout of the show and if that's true, then we can only safely assume that they're all idiots for letting the avatar live. I think what would've happened is that the last avatar would've been from the fire nation and then it'll stop.
"While it's impossible to say who Aang would have trained with..."
Are we forgetting the fact that Aang is friends with probably the strongest earthbender at that time? It wouldn't be a stretch to say that Aang would flee to Omashu.
no chance bumi was the strongest earth bender when they were kids. Bumi had 100 years to train earthbending when Aang met him in the series
Yeah but I doubt Bumi was an earth bending master at his age.
More what-if questions:
What if Zuko stood up to his father in their Agni Kai?
What if Iroh didn't lose his son at the Siege of Ba Sing Se?
Zophah 1st question:He would still get roasted
2nd question:Iroh would be happier
BOSS Potter 2nd is wrong cuz when you see zuko alone iroh seems not as nice as he is during the series that event changed hi completely and i think zuko would not have been banished
1. Zuko probably wouldn't have been banished, but it wouldn't have changed much. He'd be more loyal perhaps, but still the discard.
2. Iroh would have become the fire lord, most likely, as the lack of weakness wouldn't have motivated Ozai's attempt at persuading Azulon to have him ascend to the throne, and even if he did, Iroh would have likely contested it.
Iroh might have even taken Ba Sing Sei eventually if he persisted. He was a master fire bender a superb strategist and military commander after all.
Iroh's moral shift in relation to his son's dead was definetly an impactful factor in the history of the war and the world in general.
Iroh becomes the Firelord.
Well, in this timeline Bumi may took the role of Toph, so Aang may instead learn how to bend with his face, which may be a technic that can apply to other bending as well
Bumi would be the same age as Aang. Difficult to assume that he possesses all the knowledge in the original series at this young age.
Tanvi Sood toph was also aang’s age, 12 ,so who knows!
@@Jaylee-ye1iy I suppose!
Or he and Bumi could have learned Earthbending together. Bumi could try to help him catch up and then try to get whoever taught him to help teach the rest.
🤣🤣 but toph can beat bumi any day of the week
8:24 Aang had originally wanted King boomie to teach him earth bending and specifically told him to find an earth bending teaching that has mastered the (third gin?) art of listening and waiting. Certainly being friends with boomie before the war knowing how good of an earth bender he is, It could be possible he learned that from him in this alt timeline.
This would mean no momo and j refuse to accept this timeline

8:25 just a little comment, Toph might be one of the only earthbenders that earthbend like that, but Bumi also once mentioned "waiting and listening". Do you think Bumi could have taught Aang at the same level as Toph?

@@SoulKingBKhe was as old as Aang, but while Aang spent 100 years frozen in an iceberg, Bumi had those 100 years to study earthbending. He also took back a whole city by himself.

Metal bending may have never been discovered as well if aang never ran away alone
ArcticBluejay 97 hmm... good point
Possible, or it would have been discovered much later, establishing a metal bending police force much later as well.
Metal bending would still have been discovered by tough or how ever you spell it because she would still be born and still have the same life and would run away getting fed up and then be captured again and discover metal bending but it might take a few more years. my theory
Fatema Rangwala
Toph being born wouldn't be guaranteed. Would her family even be the same if the war was ended a lot sooner?
Metal bending would likely be discovered as metal became more common material in the Earth Kingdom and people realized it was just refined earth. It might take longer to develope without Toph's unique skills and style of bending, but I doubt people would stagnate with the old bending methods even if there wasn't a war that pushed for more effective forms of fighting.
We never knew Zuko and that my friend it's not an option

He still be born tho
Not if Aang killed or jailed Azulon / Sozin.
...maybe not the Zuko WE knew, but we might still have Zuko.

If Azulon is inprison or killed before ozi was marrying age the likelihood of ozi and Ursa marrying would be very slim (because it is only on Azulon request that he married Ursa) which means zuko wouldn't be born
Ozi would either never marry or Marry someone else resulting in completely different children
King Bumi is the only other person who told Aang he doesn’t need to kill the fire lord, that was the whole purpose of his trials. “You need to think of things a different way”, and when the time comes to face Ozai, he hopes Aang would do something crazy and unexpected

You have to remember that Gyatso didn’t want to leave Aang. That means, he wasn’t totally orthodox. Assuming that, it’s probably that he would have encourage Aang to kill the fire lord.
Honestly it's my personal belief that in the 10,000 years of Avatar that only around Aang and Korra's era was when new forms of bending were discovered. Some people probably knew blood bending, lava bending and so on but it was most likely never recorded.
well lighting was discovered far before the events and then the redirection was discovered by Iroh
Lavabending seemed like it was so normally to all the avatar before Ruko untill Aang disappearance, like we know Lava is Rock but in Atla it has been shown it connect to the firebenders avatars for example whem they showed the previous firebender avatar before Roku, he used lava avatar state, and on the avatar and firelord episode Roku quite lavabended on avatar state too(he also destroyed the walls of the vulcan with it so it could be the canonic version of lavabending that appeared on Korra, which is earthbending) and Kyoshi basically lavabended a bit to separate the island
Maybe they would combine forms of bending. Here are some examples:
Earth + Air: Dust Bending
Air + Water: Vapor Bending
Water + Fire + Air: Steam Bending
Maybe a character could even combine Lightning and Metal to amp up their powers. The possibilities are limitless!

Nice video, I can tell you put a lot of thought into it. Aang just assumes if he hadn’t left everything would have been better, but maybe that’s not the case. I didn’t think about who would take over the fire nation without someone like zuko around
Iroh is a solid contender but he held the Siege of Ba Sing Se so we can assume he believed that the War is good. He became good only when he lost Lu Ten and travelled the world around to realise how evil Fire Nation is.
You do know that it just happened to be written that way and it would've been different if it was any other creator and as valid as any others.
to be honest its entirely possible that the fire nation just dissolves into a civil war not unlike Sengoku Jedai of Japan with numerous generals all attempting to proclaim themselves fire lord.
That old lady who was tryna show Katara blood bending would teach Aang water bending King Bumi would teach him earth and king iron would teach him fire
At the time iroh would have been still on the fire nations side of taking the earth kingdom. Iroh wasn't fully good yet
None of those people would have existed if aang never ran away
@@tyronejackal8053 Bumi would still exist. And Bumi was the second greatest earth bender we ever see or hear about on the show (after Toph herself). Bumi in his prime would have still been an insanely powerful and good fire-bending teacher. The timeline of Iroh's redemption and the story of how it occured might mean that they could co-habit peacefully, but I do expect that Aang would have mastered fire from some other sympathizer known to exist throughout the ranks. For example Jeong Jeong, seen as a great master firebender deserted 10 years before the show started. Water would also have been mostly unaffected to be fair. He probably wouldn't have learned lightning redirection, but that's about it. Though since Roku was friends with Sozen, and Sozen shared everything with Roku at some point, it seems likely that Aang would have eventually figured out a way to deal with lightning in general.
Hama and Iroh wasn't born yet, and by the time they were Aang would of already been in his 40's

I got a "fun" theory. What if Aang woke up 100 years too late?
By this I mean he woke up more around Korra's time. And 200 years after the War instead of just 100 years?

I dabble on FimFic mainly because the format is good, and I have a Fan fiction account just to look up stories.
I was thinking of making a video discussion on my channel with this Avatar Sennario though. Aang wakes up 100 years late 🤔
If you like the idea maybe I'll make the video. Let me know
but there is a downside to that, korra wouldn't be the avatar and nations would still be in great war
wait how did they fight the fire lord and would republic city not be there because aang was the one who made it and more importantly would korra even be alive or is the firelord or firenation still in power like a dictatorship and would there be any peace and wouldnt it be the same as the anime because if firenation took over then aang would still be late and try to end it so it would still kinda be the same plot except even 200 years later rather than 100 years later after the war
I think a good Analogy would be lets say...Captain America was defrosted 100 years later...in a world where the Natzi's won.
The impact would be simular here, It would be the absolute worst case sennario to be honest and the entire series would change radically! I have some speculation on how the story would progress, but I'll keep "mumm" for the moment.
It seems some people are interested in this idea...would you be interested if I made a video on the subject?

I have a question for you. One that has haunted me for over TEN YEARS! How in the world would Fire Lord Sozin know that the avatar "eluded [him]" and that the fire nation hadn't killed the avatar in the genocide? How did he know that the avatar hadn't been reborn into the water tribe?
Daniel Bucher The lights at the shrines in every nation. There are “monks” in every tribe tasked with protecting the avatar. Remember when Aang used Roku’s power and the temples lit up all over the world signaling the return of the avatar. It’s likely that happens at the birth of an Avatar too and since there was no record of it for 100 years the last one must have still been alive somehow.
Lorde Darius, that makes sense. Thanks.
Daniel Bucher also during the genocide considering Sozin was there as well he'd know about the Avatar state through Roku and knows that an Avatar can activate it due to stress and fear and what happened at those temples would have surely activated that form and since known of the Airbender did it when the chances of them doung it were extremely high must have let him know that the Avatar must of not been there cause surly if he was they would have burned the kid who's eyes were glowing the most
I think the bigger question is why he felt it was necessary to kill ALL of the Air Nomads. They would know that the Avatar would have to have been roughly Aang's age, so all Air Nomads older and younger than that definitely couldn't be the Avatar.
@swamidude Y'know, there's a lot of BIG assumptions people make to "justify" genocide. If you're monstrous enough to consider genocide as a valid option, you'll think anything is justified.
Another what if idea:
What if Zuko has joined the Gaang at the end of Book two?
I just realized, if Zuko had joined at the end of book 2, they would’ve defeated Azula and Uncle Iroh would most likely be part of the Gaang...... WHICH MEANS MORE SCREEN TIME FOR IROH (oh, and zuko....)
It would be too simple and wouldn’t have the same redemption arc feeling as we do now. Zuko wouldn’t have faced his father and wouldn’t be necessary for him to make up his mistakes to the Gaang
zuko needed to go through the confrontation with his father and moral introspection first before joining the gaang

i dont think the parents are allowed to keep the children
that’s because air nomads were meant to detach from the world to achieve spiritual enlightenment, so an attachment like parents would hold them back. also if the genocide never happened aang would most likely have become a monk because a wife and kids would hold him back from spiritual enlightenment. he wouldn’t have needed to reproduce because there were already lots of airbenders
Air nomads were never responsible parents after all, they are like hippies, once they give birth, they'll leave their child to one of the temples and continue to wander the world...heck, even avatar Kyoshi's parents (airbending mother and earthbending father) dumped her so that that they could continue their lifestyle as criminals.

Here's another What-If: What if Azulon ordered Ozai to kill Azula instead of Zuko, since it was clear he valued Azula more as Iroh loved Lu Ten?
Noah Kuruvilla i think nothing would change
Piccolo Jr.
There are two possibilities right off the bat: Azula manages to win. Unlikely due to her age, but she was always talented at bending. At least she could fight, and not refuse like Zuko.
Or she could end up getting banished jnstead of Zuko, which would probably lead her to track down Aang, maybe she would be more successful
+Jumi The Agni Kai you're referring to happened after Azulon's death. But given that Azula was the first to hear the order, it would take effect whether or not she tells anyone.
I think Azula would've known because she stayed to hear Azulon and Ozai speak to each other .
I think Ursa would still do the whole poison deal to kill Azulon to protect Azula. She loved both her children, so she'd have sacrificed everything for Azula too. That might not have changed the Ozai becoming fire lord thing, but it could have different repercussions for Azula and maybe even for Ursa. Azula would learn first hand that her mother really cares for her, so no crazy breakdown for her, and she might even have grown into a slightly better person. Maybe Ozai could've tried to help Ursa out as compensation for her saving his favorite child's life too...
In the case Ursa got to stay with the royal family, she certainly would've educated Azula a little better and would have stood against the Agni Kai between Zuko and Ozai (granted it ever happened at all).

ALRIGHT. IMAGINE YOUNG IROH BEING ON TEAM AVATAR.

All hail Comrade Mishka
If Aang never ran away, then he would have died and failed in his ultimate mission. Azula alone was strong enough to 1v1 and kill avatar state Aang multiple times with her Lightning bending. An often untalked about factor is that Katara is actually by far one of the strongest Water benders in the entire planet; truly a very valuable ally. Remember that without Toph and Zuko’s unique expertise and history, Aang also would have never mastered/understood Earth and Fire training.
Azula did that cause she saw Aang and immediately attacked him with her quick reflexes.
Also he had Buumi and the dragons so he would have been more powerful with Mind Bending the elements and a deeper understanding of fire.
There is also the fact that Aang never truly mastered Air bending when compared to his father figure.
Lightning benders could have existed as well and Aang could find one if he was lucky.
I'll rewatch the series now. Thx
6:32 Why did you do that to your viewers?
stonetop when he plays it I always cry
8:20 Bumi would have taught him, pretty well at that. We do not know for sure who's better at earth bending, Toph or Bumi. He probably knows that ground sensing technique.
he doesn't know the ground sensing technique, it's arguable that Bumi has more raw power than toph, and the face bending is something we never see from toph, but metal bending and sensing would probably not be discovered by someone that isn't in the same situation as Toph was when she created those techniques.
The FIRE nation in a COLD war would be hilarious.

Aaron 17988 unless Aang was some how killed earlier. Without being frozen.
Being frozen cut his age short? Really?? Did they say that somewhere in the show(s) or not? It's been so long since i watched. I mean, yeah he's 100+ years old but his body didn't get damaged or anything, it was perfectly preserved in the ice
@@bd_asian It's not the Ice alone that kepped Aang alive and Perfectly Preserved. Raava Helped keep Aang alive in the Iceberg.
@@bd_asian also, normally Avatars get alot older than normal people, if not being killed or die from another cause. But old age alone can let an avatar get older than 200 years since kioshi was 230 when she died.
John Doherty as far as I know it never said that Raava kept him alive in the ice. And I’m pretty sure Raava wasn’t a thing until Korra.
I honestly think Aang would have trained with Bumi in Earthbending, and considering that the man was a supergenius, he might have been able to help Aang come up with something great.
This alternate timeline where Aang and Gyatso escaped the southern air temple sounds like an awesome story.
I'd like to see an evil avatar. There can be a fake avatar that can be the protagonist and fool everyone into being the avatar (maybe use earth bend to fake fire air and water bending) , while his family hides the real avatar for themselves. The fake avatar would be the "good" guy (and protagonist) since he would be forced by his family to fake all 4 elements, while his family trains the real avatar to eventually take over the world or something.
I just NEED to see an evil avatar for once.
Or the twin idea, twins become the avatar. One twin bends all 4 elements, but is evil. The other twin can go into the spirit world, but does not bend elements and is good.
We can see 1 season of their relationship as brothers and then the next season of their split ideals, then a battle between themselves for power (maybe they happen to be the next in line for the earth kingdom).
Or...Screw Korra!
She can die then come back to life (with some mystical thing) with just waterbending, and the avatar cycle moves on to the next person. The new avatar gets all 4 elements, and Raava, but keeps their abilities secret since everyone thinks korra is still the avatar. After like 15 years, Korra thinks that she ended the avatar cycle, and this new avatar becomes evil (maybe because they were born in the poor area of the earth kingdom).
It could be a redeeming series for the legend of korra. It could end with the evil avatar dying at the hands of team avatar
But that would be saying that Roku, Aang, Kyoshi, Korra and every single past avatar becoming evil.
Every Avatar's past lives will guide them into doing the right thing.
That sounds like a really interesting concept. And maybe that would drive the four nations or whoever is around at that time to join together and bring him down. Thus either ending the avatar cycle or hoping that the new avatar can bring about peace.
And Gyatso went to Aangs room and said “LETS PLAY RAGE SHADOW LEGENDS”

Usually I get bored of this kind of videos but I couldn't stop watching your video. I loved it , good job !!!
I've been writing up an Avatar DnD campaign that is being set at the beginning of the Hundred Year War and this really helped me come up with some awesome storylines to go with!
8:27 is it ok that this scene still gives me the chills of awesome
Matt J yes it is okay, it’s complete awesomeness and it will never be not okay to love that scene
So if aang was indeed killed during the air genocide he would've been reincarnated as a water bender so what would've they had done killed all the water benders too??
I would like to think they would've start with the Southern Water Tribe; then try to attack the Nortern Water Tribe.
Before watching the video I would assume that Aang would be killed during the Air Nomad Genocide. Someone would be reincarnated in one of the water tribes. When Fire Nation realises that the war is going on a lot longer than they expected they would focus on the water tribes to try and capture the Avatar to prevent his reincarnation. This Avatar would be only like 6 at the time so assuming they find him the Fire nation should be able to capture him and ensure he stays that way. After that the war continues as before and assuming they keep the new Avatar alive for the next hundred years there will be no Avatar to stop Ozai. The other alternative is that the water tribe Avatar is hidden away and learns the elements properly over a reasonable amount of time and the war would end after maybe twenty years.
Ummmm the fire sages would probably take over the fire Nation in place of the fire lord . They originally ruled the fire nation till the 1st fire lord took over control for him self .
Would you do a video about the possible political future of the Earth Kingdom post Korra? Regarding the chances of Wu's idea of allowing it to break up into individual states being a success and the potential consequences of it i.e. another Kuvira or Chin the Great situation?
Also you raise an interesting point about the Dai Li at the end of the video. I have often wondered about exactly when they become to dominant/corrupt in Ba Sing Se. Was it near immediately after Kyoshi forced the crown to establish it and introduce reform curbing the monarchs personal power or was the 100 years war the crucial factor?
That's actually a really great question!
~ Tim
Thank you. Really love your work and especially how onto the Avatar universe you are :)

Well they seem to have already have had a certain level of autonomy throughout their history (Omashu had it's own King for example even though it could be argued he was subservient to the Earth King to an extent) so I don't expect a gigantic amount of issue with the general idea. There's of course the issue of boundaries but I can't say if it would end in war or not. There would be people advocating for reunification but I don't think there's really going to be support for it from the majority of the population considering recent events.
How about you think it up yourself as yours would be as valid as his no matter how convoluted it may be.
I’m a couple years late but I feel like one of the biggest changes that people might overlook because it wasn’t a huge thing in avatar is that metal bending wouldn’t have been discovered by toph, because she wouldn’t have been captured and put in a metal cage and would therefore have no need to, setting its discovery back indefinitely
Aang would die and Sokka will become the new avatar
No the next Avatar would be Katara, sokka wasn't even a waterbender. Katara is a quick learner, highly compassionate, resourceful, motivated, and super talented.
I’m pretty sure it was a joke!
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I'd be ok with this. Not with Aang dying but it's almost like either way they were meant to be connected
@@kenishinobi666 neither of them would become avatar, if aang was killed in rge beginning of the war, the water avatar would be born exactly at the time of his death, decades before even katara and sokka's parents were born

Hey, a year and a half later, but is also important that next avatar after aang wouldn't be kora, as is kinda hard that Aang would have lived 200 years...
But you know what water bender had a very good water bending technique 100 years after the birth of Avatar Aang...
Avatar Katara
Dope!!!👍🏽👍🏽
Why couldn’t aang live that old kyoshi was 230
Also fun fact ... Real life history ... Back in bible times some people lived to 600 yrs or so ...no joke ... So in ancient times people lived longer ... In not sure how but it documented
Could explain why she mastered blood bending so easily
Just when I thought you couldn’t become more brilliant you do! I love all of your avatar videos a lot of hard work and effort you deserve more subs!
4:01 right after he says “he says” I got a raid shadow legends ad
I really liked your video! Though I'd imagine that in this alternate timeline Aang would probably have faced the Fire Lord on the Fire Nation's darkest day, which, in the canon timeline served as the historical precedent for the Day of Black Sun (I assume this eclipse happened during the hundred years war since had it occurred before the war started it wouldn't have been referred to as "the darkest day in fire nation history"). Thoughts?
I thought that day must have been pre-war since you kind of get the idea that the Fire Nation started the war in a golden age and has kept the idea of "sharing their good times and prosperity with the rest of the world" throughout it. I doubt that would be the idea if their darkest day were during that time. Anyway, it's possible that's not that the case.
When you said, "And he said," it immediately cut to advertizement and it was the marvel game and all you heard was, "I-I- I GOTTA GO!!!"
There wouldn't be Kataang but *Haang* (Hama x Aang) or *Kanaang* (Gran-gran x Aang) HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
twinkle_toes 10 or maybe even an air nomad girl
Dude there were probably plenty of girls at that time expect those two
Ahahahaha
Aang might learn blood bending
You’re a true fan
A 20-year war would still be pretty impressive and would heavily affect people's stance on war. In our own world, the two world wars lasted no more than 7 years each.
