  • The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) represents a new era in modern astronomy and as its first year of observing the universe comes to an end, we take a look at all the stunning images it has captured. We got to see the full capabilities of the James Webb Space Telescope with images of distant planets, the earleist Galaxies and even colossal galaxy mergers. We saw the remnants of ancient stars, but also the regions where new stars are born. In this video, we will look over the best images captured by JWST over the last year, which include the enormous galaxy cluster SMACS 0723, the beautiful views of the Pillars of Creation, and the chaotic clash in Stephan’s Quintet, along with the magnificent cliffs of the Carina Nebula and the stunning ‘Hourglass’ Protostar plus lots more. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the universe like never before.

      I have question: why does every bright object at images have six outgoing beams? And why we don't see such a thing at Hubble's images?

    • @BLOVECU
      @BLOVECU Год назад +4

      @@apsimozo good question. the stars with the beams are in our galaxy. the stars outside of our galaxy aren't bright enough to cause the spikes. the spikes are caused by the support structures on the telescope that hold the imaging equipment. they're in many hubble photos too.

    It blows my mind that every one of these picture - how ever fantastical it looks - is a real place, as real as the room I'm sitting in. And even if it took me billions of years to get there, I could go inside each of those galaxies and star nurseries and look around me.

    • @mcheimler
      @mcheimler Год назад +35

      It took light from the furthest star we have discovered 12.9 billions years to get to us. If you could travel instantly to this star, and you looked back at where earth is, you would have to wait about 8.3 billion years before you could even see our sun. In fact you would look at where earth and our sun is supposed to be and you would see something very similar to the images we are getting from the telescope. It would be far from recognizable to you. That blows my mind.

      @@Laura-gs6tc yes. the further you look away , the deeper you are looking into the past :D. Light travels very fast, but the distance of the whole universe is so vast that light from its furthest parts from us can take billions of years to reach us. So when we look thru a telescope we are looking into the past. also stars can last millions/billions of years, so there is a good chance many of the stars we see when we look the furthest we can, arent even there anymore,
