    I went to the Lego Store in Leicester Sq today, as I work nearby. Only a handful of them had the large qr codes, the rest were the small codes! A member of staff spotted what as I was doing and told me the old batch are large qr codes, and the new ones are small. Another Lego move to prevent us from knowing what's inside by phasing out the large codes! Anyway - the codes I did scan worked, except for two which brought up a picture of the complete series, not individual. Thanks

    CORRECTION: That’s a Cochlear Implant. Not a hearing aid. Two very different things.

    • @Studebricker
      @Studebricker 8 месяцев назад +1

      And since minifigs don't have ears, any type of hearing aid is totally unnecessary LOL

    • @Studebricker
      @Studebricker 7 месяцев назад

      @@KMPphotography1 That's some great trivia. The point is that Lego is about imagination, not trying to represent every abnormality or disability people may have. If people want to imagine their minifigs are deaf, they have always been able to do so.

    • @Studebricker
      @Studebricker 7 месяцев назад

      @@KMPphotography1 Yes because cochlear implants are just as common as glasses LOL...

    • @Studebricker
      @Studebricker 7 месяцев назад

      @@KMPphotography1 Your problem is you seem to think it is necessary for toys based on imagination to represent every human disability, which is impossible. Kids don't need to see a toy "like them" to have fun. That just sets kids up for disappointment instead of teaching them to overcome adversity. But thanks for signing off. That's what people do when they have no argument LOL

    • @Studebricker
      @Studebricker 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@KMPphotography1 Being a specialist in childhood development doesn't make you an expert in toy design, which was the topic.
      So again, by your "logic", toy makers such as Lego should not focus on fostering imagination. They should be preoccupied with making sure their toy minifigs represent all the thousands of abnormalities, disabilities, etc... As I said, that is impossible, but predictably you offer no rebuttal to my point.
      So you are helping kids that have been bullied. That is great. When my generation was growing up, we were told to ignore bullies and they will leave you alone... because it worked. So if you have been helping kids, why do they also need toys that "look like them"? Makes no sense.
      And FYI I work with kids as well. I teach them to be strong individuals, not weaklings who need to be validated in every product they buy, or form of media they use.
      Also funny how you criticize me for needing to have the last word, yet here you are responding again, when you already said goodbye LOL

    It's strange.. as a kid in the 80s who was crazy about footy (and other) trading cards that came in packs of like 5 or 6 or 10 or whatever - with a stick of gum - I'd love the same experience again. Doesn't quite make sense here, given the price and it's only for one figure. If they sold for the same price but had maybe two or three randoms in a pack, that'd reduce the cost to collect and keep the "oooh what am I gonna get!" fun.

    I think the boxes are going to backfire on LEGO. I already saw with the Marvel Series 2 minifigs, boxes being opened and put back on the shelves at the Walmarts in my area. Retailers are either going to start locking up or keeping the minifigs behind the counter, as with the bookstore you mentioned, or they're simply going to refuse to carry them because they'll be getting too much damaged/unsellable product.

      Same thing where I live. Went to my local Walmart thinking I'd pick up a Marvel CMF box just for the hell of it, but EVERY SINGLE ONE was torn open. Wasn't sure if this was just a my area thing, a Walmart thing, or both, since my local Walmart has been pretty bad with people (probably unattended kids) ripping products open. I'll never forget the craft aisle constantly being covered in thick layers of glue and glitter...

    • @cleverduck3921
      @cleverduck3921 9 месяцев назад

      @@ARDIZsq I tend to think it's probably adult collectors, at least in my area. I live in a small town, so we don't usually have problems with shoplifting or other crime. Kids are typically well-behaved in the store, that I see. The other two Walmarts in my range are 20 minutes away along the highway in either direction, they're both in more developed areas, but they're still in usually crime-free areas. I can't say I've ever seen any other merchandise in any department that's been similarly opened in any of these three locations. It's just been the LEGO minifigs, and just since the switch to boxes instead of bags.

My assumption is they’re selling them.

On one side you got the Vampire with a new cape, new helmet and fancy shield and axe, but then there is the Triceratops whos just there on its own. I had good success using the packing order method with a fresh box at a grocery store. Made it very easy... too easy... what is the point of blind box if the pros know what to get via the codes and pack order. I went to the famous big family store though and they had all theirs mixed in a big bin, so I didn't try any there. The goatherder and bat knight were my top picks, but the barbarian is printed really nicely and maybe underestimated... the sword is a bit extreme, I like that is has a stud, he will be a viking.

      Hi there - I work on the Brick Search app so I can clarify this. It'll work regardless of region as there are two codes, one for each region, and both are in the app's back-end. So the app doesn't need to know your region, it will scan the code on the box and show you the corresponding minifigure.

    After watching tons of videos to try to solve this, I ended up using a small scale and found my goat battle pack. 4 in 2 boxes. So, since the small matrix codes don’t work here, I’ll wait until a better solution comes along to find the others on my list. Thankfully, only 2 others. 😂

    I do not like the new mini fig box’s. I never felt up my mini fig packages to figure out what fig I am getting. I simply don’t like the fact that because the box’s are so easy to steal from no retails are carrying them (I’m in Los Angeles) it sucks.

    This is a great app, although i haven't properly had chance to test it yet. I found out about the app from a video Iain'a Bricks did on his channel.

    This may have me actually buy CMFs for once, and not just one. If only Lego knew they could sell so much more if they didn't hide their products behind blindbags. Now I only have to find a store that has these things, with the right kinda code, and not behind the cashier, and have the figures I want... it Would be easier if I could just order them online without a 150% markup.

      Some of the prices on Ebay aren't awful it is the shipping that kills me. Like I don't like having to pay half the damn price of a figure I am already paying extra for just to ship the damn thing to me. I am willing to wait the extra days or weeks for less money spent.

    I don't even entertain the idea of buying these things. Getting a complete set of Super Mario Characters Sets Series 5 and Series 6 was a (six figures/series) was an absolute pain. Twelve Minifigs to collect, not bothering. BTW, I do not think there was an even distribution of the Super Mario Character figures. Have all kinds of dups, except for Toad. One for Series 5 and two for Series 6. At least with the Super Mario Character sets there are lots of pieces for repurposing, so that is a plus.

    Awesome that the app can do this
    Lego should make an official way thats always the same to identify minifigures
    The mushroom girl would work well for a Mario toad

      Or just tell you (on the box) what the figures are

      They would make less money because people won't be buying multiple packs to get a figure they want. Hell I can't bring myself to buy specific ones on Ebay because while I can understand a markup to get the actual figure I want, as long as it isn't more than about ten dollars of retail, I dislike having to pay half or more of the cost of an already more expensive figure in shipping.

    What App is this for the scan ?

  • @thesonofdormammu5475

    I was all set to scan the bottoms of boxes to find the 5 or 6 that I wanted. My local stores only had the ones with the small QR codes so I couldn't scan them. Then I took a trip and checked the local walmart there, and those only had the small QR codes. Luckily though some kind soul had opened every pack on the display and I found all the ones I wanted. I have no idea what that other person was looking for but I picked up 3 goat herders so it wasn't that one. I also picked up a couple of the mushroom person, bat knight, triceratops guy, and harpy. Pretty funny. They are going to be left with MANY fitness instructors and dog groomers, there were tons of those.
