While I have no doubt that these monitors sound stellar, I hope at those prices they will actually have better quality control than the previous MTM series. I absolutely loved the sound of the older MTM for the month that had them, before having to give up on them after my THIRD speaker failure. Keep your fingers crossed, Jason! The technology is unequalled IMO, considering I have larger speakers now AND Sonarworks room correction software but I still preferred the sound of the MTM’s. So frustrating, but if these prove to “right the ship” of the previous lack of reliability I’d be willing to give them a chance.

@@scottspaulding7965 Good to hear you’re on three years! Maybe I just bought them when there was an issue, or a “bad batch”. It’s also possible that I’ve lost a bit of hearing and I was just pushing them too hard. I didn’t feel like I was pushing them, and I used NS-10M speakers for years without even blowing a tweeter, so I don’t THINK I listen very loud. Granted, the NS-10s SOUND louder sooner than a speaker as smooth as the MTM, so the combo of that and my older ears may both have contributed to my problems. All that said, at the time I was having trouble I was reading a lot of customer complaints of a similar nature.
If you upgrade to the new series and would be so kind as to give an update on their performance, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

I’m sorry you had a bad experience. I bought my pair of MTMs in 2020 and I totally love them. It’s still going and no issues a reboot didn’t fix. Which, I doubt was really an issue with the monitors.

@@time2believe Thanks, I appreciate it. I loved the sound for sure. How have your mixes been translating to “the world”? Alongside my old NS-10s I had a pair of Genelec 1030A speakers, and I struggled to mix with them, basically because they were so smooth that my mixes “sounded” good long before they were right. I never got the chance to mix much with the MTMs, so to make myself feel better I tried to convince myself that I would have run into the same problem as I had with the Genelecs. I don’t think it worked, lol.

what are the mids and highs like on them? do you think a hip hop producer would need a sub with them?

the iLoud lineup has always punched WAY above it's weight. The original plastic boom box and the snap-that-in-half version, the micro monitors, have been amazing for a very long time. I keep the micros with a cluster of synths and modelers that are all stuck together in a little rolling setup I made. The boombox/amp one I can fit in my pedalboard case (an old accordion case) on top of my board, so I can use it as a little practice rig kinda deal.
The MTMs sound so great, but I don't own them and have no plans to buy them at this point. I don't have a dedicated listening position that needs another set of monitors in that realm. I'd be interested to see what IK can do with some headphones, though. EXTREMELY INTERESTED, if you're listening, IK Multimedia!! haha

You can use Control Room in Cubase and not worry about accidentally printing the eq curve to your final

Yup, that's right! That is how I use it to, but was trying to illustrate the ease of use of having ARC integrated into the monitors for folks who have a DAW that does not allow the use of a Control Room style function. I LOVE Cubase for this kind of functionality!

With so many people listening through headphones instead of speakers and treated rooms, how do you approach recording for them? Do you have special software, procedures, etc.?

Hi, Jason.I need some advice.Did you ever find ARC 3 to be too bright ? Or should I re- calibrate and save a setting more than once ?
    Thank you.I use Logic.

@@JasonSadites I have a Focal Shape Twin. And I want to buy this MTM only for MONO monitoring and full MONO control (although I have Mono AVANTON). But the problem is that we cannot calibrate-adjust MONO monitors in their program. This is such a Shame ! And I don't know what to do with it.
