one thing I like about this Tenchu is the fact that if you put this on hard mode which i usually do in any Tenchu, guards become very high in awareness, aggressive, persistent and have some ridiculous eyesight, in short, getting a highest rank is truly challenging, stealth kill is recommended because guards can be so annoying to fight in brute force with their constant grabbing and those fvckin drill tops,
Exactly. The difficult here in this game is very agressive. You need to be very careful during missions, especially on a mission that you can't be spotted
Yeah, my only option is to use a save state to avoid score deduction😂
I personally like some of the things from this game a little better than Wrath of Heaven, namely:
1. The double stealth kill animations;
2. Some exclusive and greatly useful skills for stealth purpose;
3. For Rin's case, her grappling hook combo is slightly easier to do than Rikimaru's, and since her combo ender doesn't send the enemy flying, she can still do another damage to the enemy;
4. Alternative stages with slightly different outcomes;
5. For better or worse, Jyuzo is far more challenging to defeat than Tenrai; and the best of it all,
6. The ability to restart the mission.
Other than that? Wrath of Heaven is still a little better. WoH, for one, has different storylines for each protagonist. It also feels like it has much more contents than FS.
Yeah, totally agree with you. Also, Wrath of Heaven has multiplayer, which is very fun to play. Most of the bosses from Fatal Shadows are more challenging than the ones from WoH, which i like it a lot. Btw, both of these games are awesome on their ways.

I definitely love the poetic and philosophical approach this game took even with the motives of the final boss. I might have an unpopular opinion but I really like fatal shadows rather than wrath of heaven. I feel like this version is very grounded in reality compared to WoH, it doesn’t explore any supernatural or spooky themes/legends from japanese folklore. Also ayame is very pretty in this version
Fatal Shadows kinda bring that throwback feeling from Tenchu 2, with some stages from Tenchu 1, Bougestu Cave and Shishiya Border. I also agree with you, Ayame is way more beautiful here than in Wrath of Heaven

Technically this is the hardest Tenchu stealth game, and if u want a real challenge , use your brain , this is the one.
It can be quite infuriating , specially since its directed by FSoftware, but its still a good tenchu eh, the essence is there and reminds me of tenchu 1 difficulty
Totally, also, I don't know if you noticed, but there are 2 stages from Tenchu 1 that got reintroduced in this game. Bougestu cave, the cave where you need to rescue the captive ninja on Tenchu 1, either Rikimaru or Ayame and Shishiya Border, the mission that you need to cross the checkpoint and face Tazo and her brother

I recently started replaying Tenchu Return from darkness (Xbox) with Xenia and im realising that the 1st level, is also a the original stage 1 from tenchu 1.
The pink dude with a handgun is the same dude as the pink dude that appear in the 1st game, and Echigoya both beeing fat and using guns , both beg for their life too when low hp.
Years playing this franchise as a kid and i didnt notice till now, the small details make huge differences.
BY THE WAY!! Are you aware that a New Tenchu IP is beeing in development by Acquire and Kadokawa team?
IT has been comfirmed this april 2024 in the last famitsu interview, u can read it in google if u search for it.

I actually like the previous one (WOH) because the story contains supranatural thingy, how handsome and beauty the playable character, secret and co-op mission and many things I like from that series.
But for fatal shadow, I actually like some point. First, you can swim in this series. Secondly, ayame has more outfit and we can change it as long it's unlocked. Third, since because this series doesn't have playable male character. I was thinking this series made for women XD
@@HashimotoSeiraVTuber yeah, Fatal Shadows was more to show girl power in this game. I like this game, WoH is one my favorites, but this game has better gameplay than the previous, but lack content compared to WoH
Also, I'm planning to do co-op missions for WoH

I call this tenchu "Tenchu kurenai",because is the original name,and also my favorite tenchu of all time.I prefer the japanese voice of Ayame,but it's my opinion. 😊

While i enjoyed this game for the quality of life improvements and new mechanics I think Wrath of Heaven is still better, like:
-There were 3 campains in WoH, here are only 2, i dont hate Rin but I missed Rikimaru
-There was a multiplayer in WoH wich was simple but silly and fun, here they dropped all that and added a weird boring boss rush mode
-This is a stupid reason but the WoH had a wonderful CGI opening wich inspired me to keep trying the levels until I mastered the game, here while the music of the opening is good is only a bunch of gameplay and cutscenes mashed together so I suppose they where low on budget this time
-And lastly I dont know but the atmosphere, music and level design of WoH was better imo, I may be nostalgia but thats how i remember it xD

Yeah, this game took place after the event of Tenchu 1 and before Tenchu 3. Rikimaru was thought to be dead in this game
