Ugh, yes. Line up the perfect shot and wait for person A to leave. Person B gets in the way. Person A leaves. Person C gets in the way. Person B leaves. ..... Person Q stares at you, looks around to figure out what picture you're trying to take and walks right in front of you to take the same picture. Person P leaves. Person Q gets your photograph. Person R gets in the way. Person Q sods off. Person S gets in the way. Person R leaves. I've occasionally resorted to taking the same photograph three times at 30 second intervals and airbrushing the clear parts from first and last pictures onto the middle one.
The Endless Adventure it's interesting to note, that the 5th Duke of Argyll who was simultaneously the Marquess of Lorne, who built the Castle, was head of the Campbell Clan, and the Castle is still the seat of The Dukes of Argyll to this day. The 5th Duke of Argyll, was a Scottish nobleman and soldier who fought in the Jacobite Rebellion against the English at Culloden, but upon the joining together of the Kingdoms, he became a member of Parliament for the UK. He lived a long time for those days standards, dying at a respectable 83 years old in 1806. Many historians have said that the castle looks ugly, with the grey stone, but I happen to think that it works really well in its setting, and to this day I think it's one of the most beautiful castles in Scotland.
The Rest and be Thankful was hit with a massive landslide this week, so you were lucky you missed it as it happens quite a lot, 2500 tonnes of debris slide down the hillside. Keep the videos' coming guys. Atb Glenn.
You guys are the only american travel vloggers I've ever seen do the UK right. I love your videos, you're both so genuine. It's really nice. I've been to the area you're in many times and agree that it's lovely. I'd highly recommend catching the ferry over to Islay and to visit a few whisky distilleries. The Isle of Mull is also lovely, and Staffa and Iona are amazing if you can get there.
Iona and Isle of Mull are amazing I have fond memories of visiting them when I was a child I do not believe we went to Staffa though so it would be nice to check it out.
I love Scotland soooo soooo much! The Scottish Highlands are beautiful 😍😍 Greetings from Malaysia!

"The grey skies make the green scenery pop" - that's one way of looking at it 😅 Looks like you're having a great trip in Scotland. It really is breathtaking.
Aye, fish vans are about as fresh as you can get without catching it yourself, here in Dundee we get 'wulks' vans which turn up in your street now and again with freshly picked whelks, it's like an ice cream van, but for old people.
@@krashd I used to live in Mid Craigie, Dundee, in the mid-late 60's, & well remember the wee man with the handcart selling winkles for sixpence a bag, & a free pin to winkle them out!!
So glad you stopped at Rest And Be Thankful, some really spectacular scenery in that wee valley. My friend and I stopped there on our way from Gretna Green to Oban in 2015. We also stopped at Inveraray Castle just long enough to take a few fotos, the castle had shut for the day just before we arrived.
I LOVE your posts! Because of health reasons I can’t travel as much as I did, (but not as much as you both!) so I’m really happy to join you as an adventurer! Happy travels! 😀
I love your videos. I am from the south coast of England and a few years ago me and some friends drove up to Inverary for a week's holiday there. It was amazing and we saw our first Highland Games there. There was a parade through the town one morning and they were giving out free shots of whisky. Scotland is stunningly beautiful and the people are super friendly.
Another great one. You have something unique about both the lifestyle and your presentation. I follow some of the people that you have collaborated with but you both create something special. Please don't give in to the offers that I think may start coming your way and don't let other media purchase you or your brand. Your independence is a lot of your charm.
Allison, with your Scottish name and yellow red hair, you got in like a local. Loving your adventures on a typical grey, overcast, midland day hete in Nottingham.
Thanks for sharing your decision with those cups. It's absolute madness how much waste is produced just with those drinks2go . I think it's important to show a smarter way of living. Well done. That said: Great video as always. Your editing is becoming nicer and nicer.
worked in the hotel at the arches 27yrs ago.best time ever.pink floyd is good music for the scenery.and best sea food in scotland.luv the channel.good luck in scotland
Absolutely enjoy your travels. So honest and natural with you two. So many travel vlogs have turned into high tech, high advertisement that they lose the normal everyday lifestyle. Great
Had a friend who used to perform as an inmate in the jail. He used to live in the castle grounds in one of the cottages. I visited for his wedding many years back.
I always like to talk to the people who play that sort of role at castles, museums & suchlike, they often have a fascinating tale to tell, how they got the job, behind the scenes info on the exhibits, etc.
Scotland, my favorite place on the planet, vlogged by my favorite travel vloggers in the world! The only thing that could make it better is if I were watching it from a comfy chair on a cold morning sippin a cuppa overlooking the port of Portree. Ah well, I can dream. The castle was awesome, the court room was creepy for sure!
We were at the castle last year, our first time there, and the Duke of Argyll was inside meeting and talking to everyone. Highly recommend touring the castle, especially if the Duke and Duchess are there.
👌👌👌 Highly recommend going to stay Near Fort William But drive down through Glen Coe to get to it. It will be a drive you will never forget I promise 🙌🙌 Ben Nevis is near it which is the tallest mountain ⛰ in the UK And on Aonach Mor right next to Ben Nevis is a cable car you can go up to and the view is amazing 👍 And an amazing shorter walk if your up to it with amazing views is called Steall Falls and the Nevis Gorge. Totally worth it 🙌🙌🙌
Love your videos! I first found your page from a search for "England/Scotland/Ireland travel" and I'm finding myself re-watching some of these videos that you put out years ago. Thanks for sharing your travels and tips with us - it's been a great way for me to live vicariously through you until I can do my own traveling!🙃
if you love the scenery here... you should travel even more to the north. The higher you will go the more wild the scenery gets. Like applecross or achmelvich are beautiful!
We were there few month back when the heat wave was here. 35c it was incredible. Actually went to brambles also. If your still in Scotland come to Perth, go up kinnoull hill, i will even treat you both to lunch :).
Glad to see you continue your Scottish travels, my family are from Inveraray (your pronunciation was perfect) Loch Fyne, I grew up there as a child, its such a beautiful place. The true Highlands are much further north, hope you get the opportunity to visit there too. We also have a Fish Van that comes every Thursday, If your heading to Inverness and need a guide, let me know :)
I have been dreaming of going for soooo long! Some day! I want that weather, 90's today where I am. I want autumn weather already. Stunning and thanks for sharing.
Found your channel when I searched for New Mexico travel vlogs (to help plan my own vacation) a few weeks ago and have totally fallen in love with y’all videos!
Carla is not alone. :D My gf found your channel because you'd been to some of the places in Wales we've visited several times (most recently Snowdon), now we're hooked on your vids, but it's funny because we don't watch the same videos each day, so we get to talk about them on the phone, hehe! Travel vlogging is of course a crowded market on youtube, but you two have a style and charm that stands out, especially the way you explain the history and background of the places you visit and things you see (some vloggers don't do that, which is a shame, so several gazillion points to the two of you on that score). I think this is reflected in the fact that, given the size of your subscriber base, the view counts are very high (I'm subbed to travel vloggers with 20x the sub no. but they recieve fewer views), ie. what you produce looks professional without losing that personal touch. I hope you can retain this as the channel inevitably gains greater visibility. Re the castle, I think it was visited by a Princess and her Prince Charming. ;) Live long and prosper. 8)
Ahhh ya’ll missed out, there’s an amazing hiking trail on the grounds of Inverary that takes you past some crazy old remnants of structures in the woods, and gives you a bird’s eye view of the loch and castle from an old lookout tower. Definitely don’t hesitate to take every trail you find in the highlands, almost everything is open to the public (Inverary excluded lol). I’m so excited to live vicariously through you guys in these next few videos haha.
Welcome to Scotland 🏴 Perth is a beautiful City, and in the North East Aberdeen is also great which gives you access to Royal Deeside & Balmoral (the Queens Residence) Btw Haggis isn’t really intestines, in fact it’s mainly oatmeal but the casing is like a sausage sleeve made from sheep’s stomachs, when the haggis is served you don’t eat the covering, it’s just a way of containing the ingredients while cooking
It looks so beautiful up there! We've only been to Edinburgh so I'm excited to see the rest of Scotland. Loved that castle photo. It definitely looks like it was worth the wait.
Welcome to my home country! If you find time, I highly recommend visiting my home city, Aberdeen. It’s evolving quite quickly and it has a lot to offer! All the best!
If you want to see another fairytale castle, go to Dunrobin Castle. It's beautiful. Also, I drove these exact roads a month ago! I'm from Scotland but now live in NC, USA and I took my husband to Scotland last month so he could see it :)
So excited when you explained why there were kids in the prison. I was about to ask when the montage showed kids and then a little later you explained and my questions were answered! I should know better than to doubt you guys! Hope you’re having fun wherever your travels have taken you now!
The Endless Adventure - It always cracks me up how quickly I forget that our more humane ways now were seen as soft and unthinkable not very long ago! Then something like this reminds me that even as recently as a hundred or a hundred and fifty years ago there were things like poor houses and kids being put in jail like shown here. Thanks again for the great share!
Zoe Alaina I agree Zoe. Alison's got amazing hair. Just want to say, you've got a bit of 1940s Hollywood glamour about your hairstyle in your profile picture too.. looks amazing! Nice pose by the way as well 😉😊
go to Arbroath rich in Scottish history and where Scotland's declaration of Independence was made in 1320 AD and it's home to the Arbroath Smokie (hot smoked haddock) which is excellent
About 20mins along the road from Inverary is Lochgair and the Lochgair Hotel. They do a decent Scottish breakfast with lorne sausage; dinners with haggis, tatties and neaps; and an impressive choice of whiskies at the bar.
There are loads of stunning places in Scotland I think you should come back I recommend going through ClenCoe then on to the white sands of morra or if you fancy the other side a drive to Perth, Blairgowrie then through the Glens up to Rothes. But there are many other places visit a distillery of two but try and stay away from Diageo sites and others that will not allow you to take photos.
So jealous you made it Scotland as I still haven't made it there yet lol - big time bucket list and whilst i was in the UK for a month - there was so much to explore - we made it to the for bottom of the lowlands in Llandbarris and had to head back as short on time - but realllly loved all I had explored around Northern England and the places in wales well - next year we are DEFINITELY doing Scotland - no if's ands or buts about it lol. And we will definitely be spending a week at the very least travelling all around it! Lol and i also had the same frustration with trying to take pictures in cool places like this - especially Warwick Castle + we accidentally got locked up top of the castle as they were closing at r and never told us we had to go back down the other side of tge castle - that was pretty scary and well stressful lol Love the places you visited though lol can't wait to tell you my itinerary ;)
What beautiful scenery and the castle and jail were very interesting. I’m a history and mystery geek, so the locations were just fascinating to me. I bought a mug by following the Amazon link. I have been meaning to get one for ages and you gave me a good reason to get one. Keep travelling and enjoying the journey!
Thanks guys for the link to the reusable cups. In Costa you get 25% off when u bring ur on cup. Plus yes we do have great landscapes, glad ur enjoying ur time in UK. Where next?
you guys should go to the Jurassic Coast in England, (Lulworth cove/durdle door) if you haven’t been before it’s lovely few nice little pubs as well there and a nice walk too!
I'm fairly new to discovering your channel but I love it! I've lived in Norfolk, UK my whole life and haven't visited anywhere near the amount of places you guys have been to over here!

Scotland is such a beautiful country. I wish I had spent more time there. The people are so friendly and the scenery is wonderful.

"The grey skies make the green scenery pop" - that's one way of looking at it 😅
Looks like you're having a great trip in Scotland. It really is breathtaking.
Thumbs up for using reusable cups.
Aaaah the fish van! That's actually so traditional, my gran still gets her fish from the van that comes round her village every week.
Awesome! Well the fish was delicious 👌🐟
The Fish from those vans, I believe, comes straight from the coast which means its always really fresh. Glad you enjoyed it.
Aye, fish vans are about as fresh as you can get without catching it yourself, here in Dundee we get 'wulks' vans which turn up in your street now and again with freshly picked whelks, it's like an ice cream van, but for old people.

'The grey sky's make it pop' 😂👍🏻 glad someone appreciates our weather
the fogs make the scenery look so magical
Inveraray is my absolute favourite village in Scotland. It is just beautiful and feels magical in a way. Glad you enjoyed!
I feel like I’m going on a virtual vacation that is impossible right now with Covid-19. Thanks! I like the music, too.

Hello Kathy
How are you?
I swear y’all are my favorite couple ever 💕
one of my family’s direct ancestors actually was part of the clan that lived in that castle in the 1600s so this was pretty cool to watch!!

I know the knights used to spend ages looking at colour charts to work out the best shade for a particularly castle!
So glad to see you guy's back here in Scotland
Loved this video. The sense of wonder was a bonus on top of the amazing views
We were at the castle last year, our first time there, and the Duke of Argyll was inside meeting and talking to everyone. Highly recommend touring the castle, especially if the Duke and Duchess are there.

redheads in our natural environment....gotta love it.... you two rock
Castles are great. Nice choice of music when going through the cells, matched the mood. Big fan of you guys and Flying The Nest.
Allison really reminds me of the girl from Brave with the Scottish Highlands behind her.
Was thinking the same thing, Merida, the Scottish Princess. :)
Totally fantastic episode! So fun and informative. Great home cooking too. You two are rocking it. Best wishes and safe travels, James and Kim :)
Inveraray Jail is a great day out, looks like they have added a few things since I was last there.
You are showing off my beautiful country in the best way. SUBSCRIBED!!
It looks so beautiful up there! We've only been to Edinburgh so I'm excited to see the rest of Scotland. Loved that castle photo. It definitely looks like it was worth the wait.
North Berwick! A Scottish traditional harbor town. Really recommend!
In the UK we have vans that sell all sorts from Frozen ice lollies to vegetables, also next time you go to the Highlands you should checkout Thurso
one of your best videos, very informative and funny. Love the wool hat Allison.
good job! respect the environment! no more plastic! peace!
Moving town or villages for the building of British stately homes was very, very common! Money talks! 😊
Love you guys.I enjoyed the beautiful scenery and the ya'll in the jail made me belly laugh!
Glad you enjoyed it 😂
Welcome to my home country! If you find time, I highly recommend visiting my home city, Aberdeen. It’s evolving quite quickly and it has a lot to offer! All the best!
Hiya, The Rest & Be Thankful road shut yesterday as 100,00 tones of rock came crashing down onto the road!
Culross is an amazing wee place to visit. Its like going back in time if you get a chance to go.They used it for filming Outlander..
If you want to see another fairytale castle, go to Dunrobin Castle. It's beautiful. Also, I drove these exact roads a month ago! I'm from Scotland but now live in NC, USA and I took my husband to Scotland last month so he could see it :)
Strongly recommend heading over to Orkney, if you have the time. Some really lovely islands and people up there!
Cute to see you guys have some silly time in the jail.
So excited when you explained why there were kids in the prison. I was about to ask when the montage showed kids and then a little later you explained and my questions were answered! I should know better than to doubt you guys! Hope you’re having fun wherever your travels have taken you now!
We were really shocked to find out that they actually puts kids in there! Definitely a fact worth sharing 👍

Also Allison's hair looks extra gorgeous in these clips!
Zoe Alaina I agree Zoe. Alison's got amazing hair.
Just want to say, you've got a bit of 1940s Hollywood glamour about your hairstyle in your profile picture too.. looks amazing! Nice pose by the way as well 😉😊
Great video guys--by the way Eric , Allison looks like she was really enjoying giving you a good whipping, keep an eye on her
👀😂
She was making sure to pull her blows ...
... for now ...

Great video guys as always
You 2 made me laugh when you were in the wiping room. I was sitting here laughing and my pug girl was looking at me funny.
Hello Yoland.
How are you doing?
Sooooo good to see you guys back in Scotland!! Please come to Dundee before you cross the bridge into Fife! Keep up the good work! xx
Overcast weather can be really impressive, all those clouds trap a lot of heat to, like a big duvet!! 😂
One of your best videos yet. Interesting and entertaining. Loved the jail!😂😱
That was a great video. You both were informative and funny. Loved it🤗

Wow what a castle
ooh! Scotland is my dream! so nice to follow your videos and to see the progress, every next video is better than the previous one, you are great:)
yay another scotland video! are you planning on visiting a whisky distillery?
if you are able get a boat out on to the loch around sun up and I promise you won't be disappointed looking back to the village and the castle.
Yey! Loch Lomond is amazing! Stayed in a hotel there a few years back right by the loch. Opened the curtains and it looked like heaven!
Should go to the Scottish Islands - Skye, Jura, Staffa, and the beach on Barra.
What beautiful scenery and the castle and jail were very interesting. I’m a history and mystery geek, so the locations were just fascinating to me. I bought a mug by following the Amazon link. Thanks for buying the mug! So glad you enjoyed the video 😊

I'm fairly new to discovering your channel but I love it! I've lived in Norfolk, UK my whole life and haven't visited anywhere near the amount of places you guys have been to over here!
