  • I've heard the comments. Thank you for the love. In return, I will create content about Government insider details that might be useful for those looking to get a job in the Government or just want to know more about how the "sausage" is made. I hope you have the stomach for it.

Peter, I am a 16 year professional in the private life & health insurance sector in US & Asia, plan to move back to Canada (Canadian passport holder) and looking to explore opportunities in Canadian government roles; my professional experience is very specialized and since Government roles are very new territory to me, i would like to research a bit further to maximize my chances instead of blindly just apply many roles and waste energy and time, would you have any advice? thank you so much!

That really depends on your goals. Do you want to stay in the same "domain" or in an area that allows you to use transferrable skills? I think the first step is to answer the question: what can you offer to the world/gov/others. Once you have a good understanding of that, then you can see who needs this type of offering. BUT and it's a big but, if there is a problem that you want to help solve, then the self assessment will come second. Hope this helps!

Hi Peter, I just got in the pool. Where can I find the HR personnel who I can send email to. The pool I'm in is only specific to one agency. So is that mean I cannot look for other agency?

Hi, interesting approach. I never imagined that myself, but it sounds really realistic. I just applied for a job in cybersecurity, the recruiter sent me a link for a technical test, I think I did fine. They advised that the whole process might take up to one year. I just want to know their timelines and if they will provide feedback during the process.

The process is often long. One year is very real for many competitions. There are very few questions answered during that time and feedback can be non-existent. But it depends on the hiring manager (contractor they've hired to run the competition). Like I said, the process is inhumane. Lol.

Hey Peter. Thank you so much for great content. I recently applied to a few jobs on the gc jobs websites. I am very interested in the same the status says that they have retained my application but i guess that means i am in the pool. Listening to your videos i believe i should email the recruiters or people working in the same role. Quick question how to reach out to these people should i use linkdein and put those key words?
