Listening to this interview for the first time, after reading Danny talk about it in his autobiography, which is a book I believe should be taught in schools. The story of a guy raised by chicanismo to be a stone-cold vato, but who (like everyone) is so much more than his background and his early experiences.
A truly beautiful human being who spent his early life acting(!) up to expectations. A man I'd be proud as hell to know, and someone I've grown to love via his words and not just his portrayals on the big screen.
I'm not chicano, I'm not even American. I'm a white dude from Scotland. But I believe everyone, every human, has a lesson to learn about self-discovery from Danny. I definitely learned a lot about myself from his words.

I’m Mexican grew up in Los Angeles 80s-90s. I was asleep at home. I had forgotten to take out the trash I was only 7. My dad comes in with the iron cord and starts beating me while asleep.
Till this day, I’m 37, there’s a lot more that was done to me (not sexual abuse) but that goes through my mind everyday, but it made me a tough guy and appreciate my dad everyday even though I only lived with him till I was 12.

Danny Trejo is all good vibes when he’s around, great laughter all throughout the interview.
Some people sluff off the past. My cousin did 20 years and you would never know. Obviously he had to do what he had to do while in there. But if you met him , you would never dream he was in that long. Super nice guy. Always laughing and smiling. The kind of guy who would jump into a raging river to save a puppy that fell in. Just a good guy.. yet I heard while he was in he was a hard core dude.

Hey Danny coming from ex-sailor and ex-soldier everybody in the military loves you any race doesn't matter you made a lot of mistakes you put your story out there and hopefully people will benefit from it bottom line though you are one hell of a great actor!!

It would be a blessing to connect with Danny since I'm struggling with addiction as well. Danny knows me from when I was a baby and has the same background of my father. Maybe one day I will be able to reconnect with him and be able to find some potential in my life. I will be looking for you ❤

27:18..Not defrauding the Govt, not even close. They got him on Intent, but intent is NOT enough. He was railroaded like everyone else. A undercover cop buying drugs from him is a PRIVATE CONTRACT and pursuant to the Constitution, government cannot get involved in ANYTHING Private, unless there is an Injured party within the Contract claiming he was victim of Harm, Injury or loss.....and Only after the Accuser submits a Sword Affidavit can any type of Information/Indictment be made. Danny got screwed by the BAR, like everyone who does not Study law. He can still beat his Case Today because its EASY to prove lack of Jurisdiction....even though it happened in the 60s. Of course, no Attorney would ever speak such a thing....they would never work in any Court again.
