There was something cool about the "Our forces are outmatched" being stated so matter-of-factly and both them realizing who they were now up against, to the point where Zoller just immediately silently agrees and starts heading for the exit. They knew this part of the game was up.
Joe Johnston made such a great film. Knocked it out of the park. Just like his other great period film "The Rocketeer". Guy does not get enough credit.

Well, to be fair, he didn't get a lot of actual training in this movie, so far as we see. Once he came to modern times, I'm sure S.H.I.E.L.D. recognized that he was going to need training that'd help him keep up against more skilled opponents with wide varieties of martial arts and tactics to be prepared for.
I am pretty sure that ww2 soldiers, has absolutely nothing on modern marines. I mean, take a look at who they were fighting. Even some college professor is able to fight his way through armies and sabotage their plans.
And honestly even with the super solider serum, Steve didn’t know what he was truly capable of. Along side not being trained proper. In the comics if I remember right, they made him out to know how to be this super solider. I kinda didn’t like it. The movie in my opinion made him more human in my opinion. Imagine you go from scrawny to hero in a day. I don’t think I would be able to adjust in a day either. Like Clark in smallville, how he accidentally breaks things or throws things way to far, he was an alien and had to learn his strengths throughout the series.
I mean it makes the story more realistic cap joined the army in 1942 so he only would have several months of training to handle himself in 2014 it had been 3 years since cap was found in the ice so 3 years of nonstop training would make perfect sense bc the serum also enhances his memory and learning speeds.
Well, it's like celebrities on the street. Unless you were told beforehand that someone famous is arriving or is near you, you will never try to look for him/her, you might not even recognize him/her when you brush by.
Just like nobody heard the guard getting whacked with Cap's shield when the truck pulled up to the loading dock. To be fair, though, when you're a minion of Red Skull, NOT hearing strange noises could be a survival tactic.
