I prefer it. It allows the power of the executive (and its party) to be in check

Good overview. Contrary to your commentary in this video, I am one among many who talk about "the beauty of divided government". It is the way our system of check, balances and separation of powers was designed by framers. A One Party Rule Unified Government undermines those constitutional protections and weakens oversight between the branches. A divided government reinforces those protections and strengthens oversight. There is a great deal of historical scholarship that documents the policy benefits of divided government in the U.S. including:
Greater fiscal responsibility and restrained growth of spending.
Better, more carefully considered, and longer lasting major legislation.
Greater congressional oversight of executive branch and reinforced constitutional checks, balances and separation of power.
Less corruption, less special interest influence and greater oversight of the “fourth branch”.
Lower likelihood of major wars and fewer nation building exercises.
Net net - Better Governance. I outine this in more detail on my blog: www.dividist.com/

We have divided government. Democrats, and Republicans and they both work for capitalist and corporations.
