Today, I use charcoal to draw a sketch of the sea, the sunset, and the returning ships. I would like to share with you the process of creating this drawing, which took me about 1 hour to draw. But, proper use of charcoal and clever use of an eraser are important for drawing sketches.
Beginners can draw along easily.

Using Soft Charcoal Pencils for Outlining and Detailing
1. Outline the shapes of the sailboat, clouds, and waves.
2. Use the soft charcoal pencil to gently draw the variations in light and shadow from top to bottom.
3. Use a soft tissue or your finger to gently smudge and even out the shading.
4. Use an eraser to highlight the bright areas and middle tones.
5. Add details and re-highlight the bright areas.
