I've been using a bobber, but I've also had problems hooking them, do you a recommend a hook size? and could the use of a bobber cause them to be more cautious in a public location?
Mate, try using size 1-2 ball sinker and directly attached to size 4-1.0 hook (Suicide or long shank). Bream are a bottom feeder and therefore use sinker as light as possible to keep the bait on the spot. Hope that helps you Cheers Andrew

Gakamatsu Octopus Hook Size 6, normal bream rig without float
tru turn red worm hooks and dont strike
