This is a simple model of a coin sorting machine, all the parts are designed in solidworks and assembly and animation also created in it.
This is very interesting machine, it can be easily created using cardboard also.

Modelling from "bottom to top" takes too much time.
What about to change technics of modelling to opposite - from "top to bottom". First assembly -> general arrangement sketch -> parts.

when we have no dimensions to begin with, in that case first we take some random but close dimensions in the beginning, create the basic parts, then go to assembly and from there we get rough dimensions of all other parts.
If assembly becomes perfect then perform various analysis on this assembly to reach to the final dimensions.
(this is what I do when I don't have any dimensions in the beginning)
