I swear, the voice actor for Rambley did an amazing job, I love especially when he just drops his cheerfulness when it came to Lloyd, that really caught me off guard but it was funny too
He's what GLaDOS would be like if she didn't have trauma from getting stuffed into a computer. He's even sassy like her. "give this to a child and they'll cry".
I like how he's still following his programming, even though he has control of his own. Like asking the player simple survey questions, preventing non-staff from entering the staff rooms, promoting merch and sales (like the collectible plushies and "free percent off"), scanning faces for recognition, glitching and buffering because of the abandoned technology and following a script the entire time. Just like the guide he was programmed to be. He seems to have control over the park aswell, being able to close and open doors, as well as active the rides. But then he also breaks character. He talks to the player directly and genuinely, expresses obvious resentment towards Lloyd, "give this mistake to a child and they'll cry", he's even able to notice the horrific flesh suit that's supposed to be resembling his best friend Molly and saves the player from it. In conclusion: i just think Rambley is really cool and very much silly, hope to see more of him in the future!!
I feel like this is the most accurate depiction of what a sentient AI would be because they’re an AI at the end of the day they’re subject to their programming even if they have the ability of free thought. If they’re programmed to do something or say something they will be compelled to it. Outside of that though they’re their own person.
I did notice one detail. Even though he gets mad he doesn't have one of those toys too, he also asks what about his friends Molly and finley. So it shows subtly that he truly wants the best for his friends too and why he's probably jealous of Lloyd.
8:44. I especially love this moment where he drops the act, levels with you about what’s happening and feels bad because he wanted you to have a good experience. He really was trying his best and is pretty helpful throughout the game. It’s kind of refreshing to have a mascot trying not to end us in a horror game.
11:03 I love that he is friendly when he needs to talk about his friends and wholesome when he needs to talk with the player. But, when he needs to talk about Lloyd, he can be cold as the entire Arctic Ocean
I like how Rambley claims it's Rambley Tuesday for the discount, but the right screen not once but twice reminds the ranglers it's Saturday (probably a full price, day). Shows that our Ai pal really wants us to enter the park and can lie. (It just before rambled off the exact time it was before it saw the last visitor.)
Love the immediate change in tone when he sees you being chased: “This room is staff only…is what I would say normally but GTF IN HERE AND AWAY FROM WHATEVER THE HELL THAT IS!”

The way the whole AI personality idea is characterized is really growing on me. Especially because it kind of even reminds me of the way it was handled in the Portal franchise, ofc I have no clue if there was inspo from Portal, but I wouldn't be surprised with how the characterization is handled. Makes it grow on me all the more lmao
I gotta love his enthusiasm, he’s just soo stupid and is basically a break from the horrors, the jokes the devs can make is soo funny, this is only time I’ve laughed at something in indie horror that wasn’t intentional. (ALSO THE I LIKE TRAINS REFERENCES ISNCKSHCSICHDAICHDSIVHDSIV)

I know that no one asked but I’m gonna list my theories in the chat. I honestly think that 15:14, this mini game is showing what happened to Rambley. It shows that Mollie gets possessed and he has to fight her to to protect himself. She obviously wasn’t dead yet because later she attacks us. So I’m thinking that some dark magic was put in the theme park and the mascots got possessed. Everyone but Rambley because he’s like a A.l character. This is probably why the park closed down and everyone started leaving. OR the darker theory, everyone was murdered by the possessed mascots and that’s why Rambley is so happy to see a guest. That’s my theory. Btw Rambley is the cutest thing ever!😭

I gotta say, I love Rambly's character. The concept of an AI being so self-aware of how long the park has been abandoned is, very sad but also pretty f'ed up. ***SPOILERS AHEAD WARNING*** The fact he tries his best to make it seem like the park just needs repairs until the chase sequence really drives home to how self aware he truly is for an AI system. He was just excited that someone actually visited in so long that he wanted to genuinely make it a fun experience for Ed with what little of the park was left. Also the fact these "mascots" are possibly genetically altered animals is pretty horrifying to find out. It makes me look forward to what chapter 2 will hold next.
Your not far off with the mascots they don’t look like robots or like plush toys they seem to be actual modified animals possibly experimented animals that where turned into “mascots” and if this is true then I’m sure the company also got some sort of lawsuit about the animal welfare of these mascots which may have been a reason why it shut down in the first place which is really fucked up
@@Martyismylifesupport Seem like the company want to save a ton of money by using Rambley (AI) and those animals instead of human workers hence the Mask recording. Probably it was meant for the physical mascot. I am 100% certain that the case Probably Rambley wasn't enough despite they save a ton of money by using him to interact with people (hence why he have a free-will so he can interact naturally with the kids). Kids want interaction with physical being and having kids taking a selfie with a TV screen isn't really enough. hence the modified mascots.

@krisspychissp Yeah, but logically, if he wanted to hurt the player, he couldve just, not let em into the staff section/make them new staff. If there was hostile intent in his delay, its more likely that intent was directed at Molly, not the player. Thats not even considering the door mightve just not been working properly so was delayed in its closing.

My theory about Loyd: he’s an older character ( far older than rambley ) who was bought up my another company, but then indigo got him back and re-introduced him ( Oswald basically) Rambley feels threatened by him possibly.
According to the expiring Mollie animatronic when you are trying to repair the train, it seems like Rambley never stops hurting Lloyd due to how much he hates him
@ALuckyDime that line kinda worries me. It makes me wonder if Rambly is secretly some villian. It seems odd that this nor.aly chipper Raccoon not only hates, but actively harms one of the mascots.
To support your theory, I believe there is a cut-out or mural depicting Lloyd handing over the deed to Indigo Park to Rambly. It's quite likely Lloyd was the original mascot before pivoting to Rambly, but Lloyd became a favorite regardless. If I were Rambly, I'd likely feel a smidgen of resentment, too.
Honestly, I feel like Rambly really sets this game apart from other animatronic inspired horror games. It's refreshing to get an aid that doesn't seem to have an evil agenda (As far as we know, and at least he isn't obvious about it) And not only that, the aid is *actually cute*, like, I don't question how this guy was the mascot" The only thing I was questioning was if they were really just a bunch of preset responses for situations, but I love how he just drops the facade. Really hoping we get more of this game, if only to see more of him
Honestly you can tell they put a lot of work into making Rambley, from the animations to the voicework and audio effects. He conveys a ton of emotion and personality in practically every line and it's very easy to pick up on little details that give you a better idea of how he's actually feeling/thinking.

The way the whole AI personality idea is characterized is really growing on me. Especially because it kind of even reminds me of the way it was handled in the Portal franchise, ofc I have no clue if there was inspo from Portal, but I wouldn't be surprised with how the characterization is handled. Makes it grow on me all the more lmao
I gotta love his enthusiasm, he’s just soo stupid and is basically a break from the horrors, the jokes the devs can make is soo funny, this is only time I’ve laughed at something in indie horror that wasn’t intentional. (ALSO THE I LIKE TRAINS REFERENCES ISNCKSHCSICHDAICHDSIVHDSIV)
I genuinely almost cried when rambley was honest to us and immediately cheered me up, the devs genuinely make like the best character in all of horror game fiction.

I honestly think that 15:14, this mini game is showing what happened to Rambley. It shows that Mollie gets possessed and he has to fight her to to protect himself. She obviously wasn’t dead yet because later she attacks us. So I’m thinking that some dark magic was put in the theme park and the mascots got possessed. Everyone but Rambley because he’s like a A.l character. This is probably why the park closed down and everyone started leaving. OR the darker theory, everyone was murdered by the possessed mascots and that’s why Rambley is so happy to see a guest.
That’s my theory. Btw Rambley is the cutest thing ever!😭

I gotta say, I love Rambly's character. The concept of an AI being so self-aware of how long the park has been abandoned is, very sad but also pretty f'ed up.
***SPOILERS AHEAD WARNING***
The fact he tries his best to make it seem like the park just needs repairs until the chase sequence really drives home to how self aware he truly is for an AI system. He was just excited that someone actually visited in so long that he wanted to genuinely make it a fun experience for Ed with what little of the park was left.
Also the fact these "mascots" are possibly genetically altered animals is pretty horrifying to find out. It makes me look forward to what chapter 2 will hold next.

Your not far off with the mascots they don’t look like robots or like plush toys they seem to be actual modified animals possibly experimented animals that where turned into “mascots” and if this is true then I’m sure the company also got some sort of lawsuit about the animal welfare of these mascots which may have been a reason why it shut down in the first place which is really fucked up
@@Martyismylifesupport Seem like the company want to save a ton of money by using Rambley (AI) and those animals instead of human workers hence the Mask recording. Probably it was meant for the physical mascot. I am 100% certain that the case Probably Rambley wasn't enough despite they save a ton of money by using him to interact with people (hence why he have a free-will so he can interact naturally with the kids). Kids want interaction with physical being and having kids taking a selfie with a TV screen isn't really enough. hence the modified mascots.

@krisspychissp Yeah, but logically, if he wanted to hurt the player, he couldve just, not let em into the staff section/make them new staff. If there was hostile intent in his delay, its more likely that intent was directed at Molly, not the player. Thats not even considering the door mightve just not been working properly so was delayed in its closing.

My theory about Loyd: he’s an older character ( far older than rambley ) who was bought up my another company, but then indigo got him back and re-introduced him ( Oswald basically)

According to the expiring Mollie animatronic when you are trying to repair the train, it seems like Rambley never stops hurting Lloyd due to how much he hates him

Lloyd has been implied to be like way more popular than the rest sorta like Freddy is the to rest of the FazGang so thats probably why
To support your theory, I believe there is a cut-out or mural depicting Lloyd handing over the deed to Indigo Park to Rambly. It's quite likely Lloyd was the original mascot before pivoting to Rambly, but Lloyd became a favorite regardless. If I were Rambly, I'd likely feel a smidgen of resentment, too.

Honestly, I feel like Rambly really sets this game apart from other animatronic inspired horror games.
It's refreshing to get an aid that doesn't seem to have an evil agenda (As far as we know, and at least he isn't obvious about it)
And not only that, the aid is *actually cute*, like, I don't question how this guy was the mascot"
The only thing I was questioning was if they were really just a bunch of preset responses for situations, but I love how he just drops the facade.

Honestly you can tell they put a lot of work into making Rambley, from the animations to the voicework and audio effects. He conveys a ton of emotion and personality in practically every line and it's very easy to pick up on little details that give you a better idea of how he's actually feeling/thinking.
