    Burglar: The best way to keep your home protected is to leave your windows unlocked and open at night.
    Person: Really? I don’t think that’s...
    Burglar: Yeah, yeah, it’s the best way trust me.

      Burglar: Also declare your property a gun free zone
      Person: Wait what?
      Burglar: Yea man, means we can't bring a gun with us if we want to rob you since we would be breaking the law
      Person: Oh that's a neat idea

      lol yeah i leave mine unlocked 2. i got dogs that know how to open doors, its a hell of a lot easier than getting up in the middle of the night to go let them piss..im not so concerned about people breaking in, they should probably be concerned about if they do get in how the hell they are gonna get back out with all of their limbs or life intact

In that box over there is a key to your freedom, just how badly you want it before the gas is released? We'll see! But first you'll need to push a button in the bottom of that box. • @torque_4285
      @torque_4285 7 лет назад +10

      It is indeed the most alert but throw it chicken and that dog is gonna help him rob you. What if the robber knows your not home? A few barks mean nothing. An untrained dog will betray you for food.

    • @Relseg
      @Relseg 7 лет назад +19

      My dog barks at any small noise, and goes frenzy barking when someone knocks on the door or hears any strange noise. He's small so he won't do anything to a robber, but that's enough noise for me to get up and grab my firearm if needed.

      I was scammed by somebody pretending to be a floor cleaning service, he was really just trying to get inside my house to case the place. He looked legitimate, had a uniform on and everything. But I suspected something was up by the way he was questioning me, so I started asking some questions of my own. He began tripping up on his answers and I realized he was up to no good and call him out on it.

    • @antimaster6432
      @antimaster6432 6 лет назад +4

      did you know that all the mass shootings were done with... *drumroll* illegal firearms which means that firearm control is pretty much prohibiting law abiding citizens to own guns and protect themselves and others, which does happen a lot more frequently, armed citizens saving others from armed criminals. most school shootings were done with pistols or shotguns as well. btw, if a burglar breaks in your house in UK, if you harm him he can sue your ass. talk about getting cucked.

    We're old and my wife is very fragile. We're both 5"2". That is the negative. The positive: because of my wife, we rarely go anywhere anymore. There is a car in the driveway. If we open the door, we still have a strong screen security door between us and the bad guy and it's difficult for him to see us. All windows have security film on them which makes it more difficult to break in. I have small alarms in the second floor windows. I also have a "A" in the hole that I will not mention here.
    The other advantage is that I have taught and practice AKJ-American Kenpo karate since I was 25 and I'm 76 now. People are shocked at my age, they think I am sixty. I have worked out and taught to art to just adults my whole life and I still do. We are on a busy street so at times, that would help us.

    I lived on the second story of a building. When I got home and unlocked my door, I immediately could smell that someone had been smoking a cigarette in my apartment, and I don't smoke. The burglar got in thru my 2nd story window that I'd left open a little for some air. He took almost everything of value, but at least they left me a can of bonito... nice of him.

    I much prefer a passive defense. Motion sensors in the hallway, silent alarm, alarm company calls my cellphone and not the home phone. If someone breaks in when I'm not home or while I'm asleep... worst case scenario, the cavalry still shows up. I also keep at least one firearm in the bedroom. If you really want to rob me... expect a shotgun to the belly when you breach that door.

    Home security is simple. Dont be the easiest house on the street. Crimes will happen. You cant defeat that, you can only deter crime from happening to you. Your security level will depend on your neighborhood and your neighbors security. Have clear lines of sight on your home, manage your hedges and have the outside well lit with motion lights. Have obvious cameras (whether they work or not). Have security alarm signs that state you have "wireless" security visible in both the front and the back yard. Pad lock your fences. Run spike strips atop your fences so that they cant be as easily vaulted over. Have a device in the home that randomly turns on and off lights at various times. Put bars in your windows and at the VERY least invest in an alarm system that sends a message to your phone with a glass break sensor. The list goes on and on and on... Look at your neighbors house and look at your own home. Who has the nicest house on the street? If its you, you should be concerned. Who has the least secured house on the street? If its you, you should be concerned.

    I don't sell security systems but I'm a dispatch operator for a large security company. Don't trust your dogs to do anything. I've come across a lot of break-ins where the dog just barks never attacks or they'll just walk in and shoot your dog first. Even if you get a self monitored one like simplisafe get something. I'm not worried about people taking my shit but I'd sure as hell be pissed if someone killed my dog or let em loose just because they wanted some piece of shit tv.

    It's hard for the modern criminal with modern tech like Wifi camera's that are dirt cheap, record in 1080p and have motion detection built in which will notify your phone the second someone approaches your home. If you are at home and practice the 2nd Amendment (AR rifle's) then bad guys fucked if they do come in.
    If I was a bad guy I would find the most liberal neighborhoods I could find and break in to those homes. Chances are they wouldn't be armed, because guns are bad, and won't fight back because they are generally soft and afraid.

  • @TroutWest
    @TroutWest 7 лет назад +6

    Security systems don't matter any more.. Locally they are still breaking in with alarm systems going off.. they just get out before 1 or 2 minutes. They head straight to master bedroom and hit your jewerly spots and medicine cabinets. They know they have 15 seconds before alarm is triggered.. then 2-4 minutes before ADT calls you or cops..then 2-6 more minutes before cops can respond.. if not longer. So running into a house with an alarm set is not a big deal to them anymore. If all they get is 1 or 2 things that's enough to them

    • @MISTAKEWASMADE4live
      @MISTAKEWASMADE4live 7 лет назад +3

      RoadTripVidz Yep that's true, although most criminals aren't smart enough to be that effective, I think people need to modernize , make sure the breaking doesn't happen at all don't build a cardboard house build a cement house with a hard material doors that have multiple locks, fingerprint tech, face recognition and voice authorization and a key of course, and a password if your up to it, maybe have it change every day or have it different at a time of day, all these systems on a single door would make it virtually impossible for a theif to steal in time without just knocking it down, but if your door is made out of hard materials not low power explosives should take it out.Also windows, where are live the window style is different from the US, but anyway have bullet/kinetic resistent windows, if you can have them so you can see to the outside of house but you can't see inside even better AND have a like these ummm.....IDK what their called in english but their like fan wings, usually metallic, you can close them off completely and open them super easily, they don't obstruct vision and you can't cross through them in any way even if you had a sledgehammer or a gun. A gate would also help, you know like a tall fence with sharp and pointy crosses, you could have some kind of hidden cable that if you wanted to could run electricity through the fence.Cameras are a must, have at least 2 cameras, you can disguise some outside your house as owl statues and make the head turnable in almost all directions, cameras inside the house would be nice too.An alarm system that makes an unbearably loud noise and flashes lights is a must, you just stay inside and put on noise blocking headphones, also it should dial up 911 or some other emergency number, if you really wanna go overkill you could decoy some plants that aren't really plants but release some kind of gas that either irritates or numbs people, like tear gas.A safe room inside your house would be great, it could have all your valuables, water and food for like a week, its own powerful battery with entertainment, make sure its virtually unbreakable by conventional means and such.Most importantly you need guns, a heavy duty gun and a full bullet/stab resistant body suit in case of a mass break in and handguns in different secret compartments in the house where their nearby so you can always pull on out on a moments notice.Drones and robots are a thing now so you could have a few drones in the house and whe you know there's a break in just go to the safe room and activate them and remotely control them so you can taze or shoot or gas the intruders.Good designs can go a long way in making your home break in free, its not that expensive either too do if you have a good income its not a big expense but it certainly is well worth it.

    A guy came to my door one night asking for a name that was clearly made up. I was talking to him through a window. I knew immediately he was full of crap. I told him calmly but sternly, “If you don’t leave I will shoot you.” Man, did he run fast!
    Interestingly, I had just bought and registered the gun a week before and my parents were pissed (this was about 25 years ago) that I had brought a gun into the house. After I told my mom what had happened she would ask me where I kept the gun before I left the house, just in case. I guess it’s easy to be against guns until you need one.
    I don’t believe in random or unprovoked violence but sometimes violence (or simply the threat of violence) is necessary.
