Say! If the curator of this RUclips channel will take note: This was the 1973 Rebel 500. The on-screen graphic at around 25:57 displays the 1973. Seconds later announcer Bill Fleming also stated the year as 1973.
I also checked with the racing-reference website, which is under ownership of NASCAR, that verified the first and second place finishers to this race..
All the drivers who raced against David Pearson including petty and both Allison's agree that Pearson was the best drivers and the best for saving his car for the closing laps

I was a teenager for this race it was a good time
Funny to hear "the NBA couldn't schedule a playoff game at a time we could air it".
Probably because WWS aired in the afternoon and the game was scheduled in the evening.
1:15 cecil gordon was in that race started 7th in darlington 1973 he was with dale earnhardt's pit crew in the late 80s and early 90s

This was the 1973 race, as the graphic at the end of the video showed.
I also checked with the racing-reference website to verify the winner and that second place Benny Parsons was many laps behind.
