As a BYU fan it was hard to watch us fall apart so hard at the end, especially since they played so well 90% off the game. Props to ISU though, they fought for that win
BYU has proven their high net ranking (from ISU fan). If people want to talk about "gaming the system" why don't they point out 20-10 Alabama at #7 instead of ISU and BYU?

BYU would be a dangerous team in the Big 12 in coming years. As for the Cyclones, great, gritty win but the inconsistent offense is a concern. They should not have been behind by that much - if BYU could clamp them down a bit, it would be a home loss. ISU needs to get better on offense to go far in the tourney.

Both great teams playing, but I do have to say the refs made last minute mistakes that gave Iowa a questionable victory.
What about the steal that was called a foul and Jones and 1 basket that was called on the floor
Not gonna disagree, though nothing will come close to that Baylor game. My god, if that wasn't the worst officiating I've ever seen in a college basketball game ever, and I'm an ISU fan. Shouldn't have been as close as it was.

You know, the final 2:00 (game time) of this highlight video really does NOT fully capture the BYU meltdown. (No, trust me BYU fans, this comment by a Cyclone Fan will ultimately help you in the NCAA pairings.)
As a big Iowa state fan, I do admit those last 5 minutes the refs were totally on our team 😂, like we played great and made a fair comeback but I’d be stupid to say we deserved a couple of those free throws while BYU didn’t. Overall great and fun game to watch, good fight cougs!!

@ReidG-sf2iq honestly though. Most of the game, the refs called in favor of byu. Except for those last 5 minutes. Guess you gotta make up for being shit somehow 🤷

Used to be a fan of jaxon robinson but fr dude looks petrified to be in the game in the big moments he runs from the ball fus got the TO but its cuz this foo ran away from the ball. Dont put him in 2nd half then.
Dallin Hall is trash and shouldn’t be starting. He can’t dribble nor can he finish close to the hoop.
Na without him they wouldve got blown out Robinson is an absolute turnover and cant handle the ball plus 2nd half the dude looks petrified to by in big moments running away from the ball fr.

Good win for ISU. I'm glad they won, but BYU played well till late in the game. They have a good team that is a welcome addition to the Big 12....I say good riddance to Texas and Oklahoma!
BYU literally handed that game to Iowa State. Players deserve blame but I think the biggest slice goes to Coach Pope. Made some questionable personnel calls late like keeping Traore in for so long when he does nothing for us offensively.
Treore was the only thing keeping their guards from getting down hill and getting to the rim. On many match ups we will be forced to keep Treore in because he is our helpside rim protector. Waterman gets blocks but not usually on helpside. Usually on his own man
I just feel like with a 14 point lead, that move to play him more (and I get his defensive upside) moved us from trying to win to trying not to lose. Waterman's problem wasn't on the defensive side of the ball last night.@@NathanDenney-jb3om

Traore had 4 Turnovers and Waterman, Hall, Johnson and Robinson all had 3 each, that's just what ISU does to a team
