What a beautiful tradition, and your celebration was awesome. I wish I could have witnessed such an event in person. Your voices are very special. I first heard Latvian singers at an event in , Scotland; it was the "Reconciliation Through Music" that is held in alternate years in Dresden and Coventry. The rich sound of the Latvian Bass voices were right behind me(I was an envious tenor). I was so impressed. My best to you all.
The wise small nation with a great soul. Festival is a strong message for those seeking ways to preserve peace in their countries and indirectly condemns those who provoke disagreements and hostility between nations. A link worthy of following.

@Glagoliti I quite disagree with you, my friend. As a Russian who has to move to Latvia I can say that you can become Latvian if you truly wish for it. Learn the language, learn the traditions, and nothing is going to be destroyed. I'm living here for almost 5 years and I fell in love with Latvian culture right away. But for such a long time I was afraid of buying national Latvian costume for myself - I just felt like this is wrong. And you know what? All Latvians I told about my fear were so nice about my wish. Latvians really like when you appreciate their culture and they are super supportive about this. You don't need to be Latvian to be fascinated by their culture, to love their culture and to want to become a part of their culture. Everything you need is time and motivation to learn. That's all. Source: my 5 years of life in Latvia and all my Latvian friends (I've studied only in Latvian schools and currently am studying in University of Latvia which is full of Latvians ofc)
@Orion Lord it is kinda huge, yes, but Russian culture is... undefined, let's say. Latvians were isolated from others for a long time which helped them to save their culture. Meanwhile Russian (or may I say old Russian) culture is kinda lost. There's nothing similar to Latvians celebrations in Russia. No one was interested in collection info about Russian culture - and Russians kinda didn't need that to begin with. Latvian culture is something that helped to save Latvian nation - remember Alexander the Third who wanted to russify (?) all nations living in the Russian Empire. And Russians... already were Russian? They were never discriminated because they't just Russian. What I would like to say - Russians totally don't have culture like Latvian. Different - yes, quite different, but not so authentic with songs and dances.
God's in everyone. When our people comes to do this, common, higher conscience comes into play. Everyone should have a shot at this, you'd get it even without knowing the language. Scientists are left scratching their heads. For now. Thanx 4 compliments, leave poor rich overseas cousins alone though✌💞
I really wish this year, 2022, were a festival year and that it were possible to bring the festival forward to, say, the early summer (when I expect Ukraine to win Eurovision) if not sooner. The symbolic potential would be enormous. Long live the Baltic states and slava Ukraini.
