- The United Kingdom Special Forces (UKSF) is a Ministry of Defence directorate that provides a joint special operations task force headquarters. Director Special Forces appears to command 22 Special Air Service Regiment, the Special Boat Service, the Special Reconnaissance Regiment, the Special Forces Support Group, 18 Signal Regiment and the Joint Special Forces Aviation Wing.
In 1987 the post of Director SAS became Director Special Forces.
The incumbent from that point had control of both the Army's Special Air Service and the Naval Service's Special Boat Squadron, which was renamed the Special Boat Service during the formation, into a unified command. The directorate has been expanded by the creation of the Joint Special Forces Aviation Wing, the Special Reconnaissance Regiment, 18 Signal Regiment and the Special Forces Support Group. Approximately 40% of all UK Special Forces are recruited from the Royal Marines.
Following the Army 2020 reforms, the 21st Special Air Service Regiment and 23rd Special Air Service Regiment were moved from DSF's command to 1st Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Brigade in 2014.

1: Yeah, the CTSFO arent part of UKSF (It's writen in the description). They're the CTU of the Police. "So MHS why you put they there?". Cause they still Special Operations, are very high level officers and deserve recognition and being knowed, but they still very low in footage for an own video, that's why they are here.
2: No, the Blue Dauphins in the video aren't from police, they are from the Army, part of the JSFAW. These birds are the main ride of SAS boys in homeland during trainings and real operations. All operators fast-roping from them are SAS.
3: No, the Balaclava guy with jeans, isn't from SEAL Team 3 or even american, his is from the 22nd SAS Regiment, and he was even identify by the UKSF as a Sergeant Major from the Regiment, he was awarded with Conspicuous Gallantry Cross for his actions at Kenya.

We also have a Royal Navy S.F. the SBS special boat service which was founded almost around the same time as their army counterparts both units are open to all branches of H.M. forces but traditionally Royal marines apply for the SBS and members of the parachute regiment for the SAS .
Nope, there have been historical examples of specialized units trained in covert operations, e.g. Deep reconnaissance, espionage, raids etc... Dating back to Ancient Greece, Rome, Japan, Indonesia

As an Englishman whos aspiring to become a royal marine I spend a lot of my time watching and observing how British special forces operate and they require so much determination and a god like level of focus and what inspires me the most is not about the money or feeling like being like your in a Hollywood film these brave people do it to get the job done and I think they deserve a lot more respect and recognition then they do because our great nation would crumble without these guys 🇬🇧Britains best = worlds best 🌍

This type of stuff also gets better that they only really become known in general due to the Iranian siege. I wanted to join the Royal Marines back in 2016 but my brother died and I stayed with my family here in Germany. Felt a bit guilty for breaking this family tradition. Now I’m a Paramedic here in Germany. Don’t know if anyone cares, just felt like sharing it haha

a good mate of mine knows someone in the special forces i met him in a pub for a pint one day and he introduced me to the guy not what you would expect from an elite operative small bloke wearing a disney tshirt and scruffy hair and beard but i knew from shaking his hand that he could kill me with one move so i definitely felt safe in there with him if anyone was looking to start a fight with me and my mate it was an absolute honour to make his aquaintance and hear about his stories....hardest people on the planet.

@soflo23 Knew you were a comedian. As a civ can't help but acknowledge all the botched US ops in the war on terror compared to a pretty clean record by us Brits. At the end of the day they're all Warfighters. but the quality of our UK lads is just off the chain.
